I love this place and when seated in the window it’s extra special. The food is beautifully presented and always very good. White tablecloths, white napkins, wonderful service...added touches to dessert makes it very special.

This was about my 10th time here and probably one of the best. Food was almost perfect and service was outstanding as usual. Waiter Bobby was just fantastic. We had a small issue with a group that had brought a toddler and sat somewhat close by. It's just not a place for kids under say 14. Not CP's fault. The free corkage on American wine is a great great thing, don't ever change that. I brought a 2001 Pine Ridge Stag's Leap District Cabernet that paired superbly with my filet. Wife had an interesting salmon dish that she loved, and the two desserts we had were superb. Thanks again CP, you never disappoint.

Charlie Palmer's consistently delivers a great meal with a fantastic view of the Nation's Capital. The food here is top notch and the service is spot on. This was my 5th visit here and I am a bigger fan than I was the time before. Keep doing it right!

Our waiter was attentive and personable. He sold us on a huge 60-day aged steak for two, which he said 'you could cut with a butter knife'. What we received was a tough, chewy piece of meat, maybe half the size we were expecting. When I showed him the effort it was taking to cut this meat with a steak knife, he told us it was because we had ordered it 'medium', so of course it would be tough. He then proceeded to give a whole teaching on the scientific aspects of meat and heat, etc. Having eaten many steaks in many establishments, and cooked many steaks ourselves, we do certainly understand how a 'medium' steak should be. We have had many outstanding steaks for a whole lot less money. We have also dry-aged our own beef, and I have a hard time believing that this meat had been aged for 60 days. The most disappointing was the decision of the waiter to educate us simpleton 'medium' people on the finer aspects of steak, rather than showing any concern. We should have taken warning when we saw the place was pretty empty. Would advise to avoid this one.

Exceptional 6-course tasting menu on New Year's Eve. Every course was truly excellent, as were the wine pairings. Highlights for us were the uni-crusted Icelandic cod and the Japanese A5 Wagyu courses. The service was warm and very well intentioned. Unfortunately, we felt quite rushed (the first four courses all arrived within the first hour of being seated, with each course typically arriving less than a minute after the previous course was cleared). While the precision was impressive, this should not be the pace for a tasting menu on New Year's Eve. After we pointed this out to the staff they were excellent in slowing down the pace of the final two courses. Overall, despite being rushed for the first half of the meal it was a very enjoyable experience.

I have eaten here many times and it as totally underwhelmed. The food was not up to par, and the service was awful. I understand Congress was not in session but wow. Terrible.

What a great find! My husband and I decided to try Charlie Palmer Strak for our 6th wedding anniversary and loved it! The place was beautiful and quiet. Food was amazing and the service was perfect! Great for a romantic dinner.
