Great food and service. Waiters were all great and professional
Great place for date night. Understated elegance is how I would describe the dining area. If you're in a small party try to get a table near the large floor-to-ceiling windows.
To start cleaning we got an appetizer they were offering as a special - tempura squash bloom stuffed with ricotta and crab meat which was delicious. My girlfriend had the filet which was perfectly cooked - she also what are the red wine demi glaze on the side but the steak was so well prepared she didn't use it. I had the 25 oz prime rib which was delicious if a bit chewier than normal, but still quite tastey all the same. We finished the meal off with a banana split - two spoons.
We paired our steaks with a red cab recommended by the sommelier which was awesome.
The manager had a special treat for us and took us to a private rooftop terrace in the building and spent a good amount of time talking about all kinds of things, which we enjoyed and appreciated given the fact he had plenty of other guests to attend to.
We will definitely return for date night.
We went for a birthday & i honestly have never had such wonderful service! Myra, our server, was very attentive & kind - and once she found out we were celebrating a birthday she brought out a number of complimentary desserts and even offered to take us up on the roof. along with her, all the staff was so kind and always checking to see if we needed anything. it was truly one of the best experiences i’ve ever had at a restaurant!
Worst experience I have ever encountered. It was my first time there and I will never go back neither will any of the other 5 members in our party. Sommelier Phil was rude and confrontational. Service was slow and not responsive, food was undercooked.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Charlie Palmer and it was amazing! We immediately got seated after checking in. Our server was nice and extremely attentive. Service was superb. Now to the food...wow, oh wow! Everything we ordered was delicious. We will definitely be coming back real soon!
Really delicious food. We had the prix fix lunch menu and it was EXCELLENT. The staff were wonderful. Great place.
1st time in D.C. and this place was recommended to us. So glad we went here. It is awesome.
Lovely dinner. A great American steak house. Wonderful service. Great wine list, cocktails, and dessert. Steaks and seafood were very tasty and cooked perfectly.
While the food was good it wasn’t excellent, especially for the price. The overall service left you less than satisfied. To top it off, a waiter spilt part of my 185 dollar of wine and represented no real concern, except a comment indicating he didn’t get any on me?
The atmosphere was great, however, the food was not equal to the setting. My husband and I ordered the filet medium. Both were cooked well and lukewarm when it arrived. Sides were also lukewarm. Service was great, as well!
Garbage. The worst steak house i ever went to! Horrible service. They didn’t speak good English, couldn’t tell me how the steaks were aged or how they were rated! Horrible experience! And we were there with a former United States Congressman! Just horrible!
Very nice restaurant with excellent food and service. Portions are shareable!
We went for dinner and it was very delicious.
Lewis and Lamar's always excellent service and recommendations keep us coming back.
Absolutely great experience
We were a very late table at closing on a Wednesday night and were still treated exceptionally. Great guidance through the beverage menu, excellent recommendations on the food, the steaks were cooked to perfection with delicious sauce choices, and dessert and espresso were perfect. Couldn't be happier with the meal and am looking forward to returning to DC to eat here again.
Food was wonderful, and our group had a little bit of everything available. Steaks was cooked perfectly, even the most rare made that person happy! Sides and desserts were delicious, too. The staff was smiling and helpful and patient, thought the place was really loud and tough for us to talk across the table.
Big disappointment. Where to start? Unable to make a Manhattan with Woodford or 4 Roses because they were out of both. Mediocre CP Bibb salad that was dull and flavorless. The NY Strip was not a quality piece of beef. Gristly and lacking in flavor. And a very mediocre Apple-Horseradish Cream sauce that I got on the side. Brussel Sprouts where also lacking the quality of a top steakhouse. Baked Alaska was the best part but still not beyond average. Decor very stark and the men's room had paper towels overflowing the receptacle. I did have a wonderful window seat and the coffee was very good.
Best Tuna Tartare ever. Great steak. Generous pour from the bar.
The food was very good... the service was Terrible.. I realize this was lunch, but three of us had to constantly ask for refills or bread.. At least two times for bread, it finally arrived After we were all done with the meal.. Terrible service...
I love this location but the service was subpar and the food came out underdone. Very disappointing for the price.
The experience was one of the best I have ever had. The food was cooked to perfection and the staff made sure we were taken care of. The management is great, and the service was delightful. I would highly recommend.
Servers and managers were very attentive, and gave great recommendations. Besides the amazing and tasty food, the drinks were freshly made and it made everything be delicious.
3rd time here, and this was the best visit yet. Got complimentary appetizer(s). The waiter and staff were attentive and friendly. The food was great; got the prime rib and A5 wagyu. The food and drinks are made nearly perfect. After dinner they let us see the rooftop for an amazing view of the city.
Great steaks, excellent service and beautiful room.
We started the meal off with a seafood tower which was delicious. My table mates and I then ordered the Foie Gras Torchon (excellent), Beef Carpaccio (perhaps the best we’ve ever had) and Shrimp Scampi (also excellent) AND the A5!
As our main course we had the Porterhouse and the American Waygu with The twice baked potato and creamed spinach. We wound up taking steak home and not having any room for dessert we split the ice cream / sorbet sampler. Not saving room for dessert was a mistake because if the sampler was any indication and the desserts flying past us going to other tables looked amazing !
We’ll be back !!
Grilled Octopus- amazing and tasty- lemon and aioli✅
Potato Gnocchi- comfort at its finest
Great food, good service.
Excellent meal and service. The service seems to be a team process because so many people assisted us however we think the lead person’s name is Gustavo. If so, thanks, and job well dome!
We had a prior bad experience and have not eaten here in some time. We decided to give it a try for a belated anniversary dinner. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the salad, sides, and dessert was also excellent.
Thanks for taking such good care of us on our anniversary!
Everything was fine until my order of aged New York steak came out. I asked for it medium well done and it came out too bloody pink. I asked for it to be cooked well done done thinking it will at least come out medium well this time. When the steak returned it still was bleeding. By this time my date had finished her food and didn’t make since to order a whole new meal. This ruined my experience to say the least. The service was great just the food was a no for me.
Loved this place. The lighting and ambience were perfect. I could actually see my delicious food. I dislike places that are so dark that I can’t see the menu or food that I’m eating.
This was my third time to Charlie Palmer. As in each of the previous visits the food and service were exceptional, among the best if not the very best in DC. This particular time the manager, Phillip, asked if our party would care to bring our unfinished glasses of wine upstairs for a rooftop tour of DC. The vistas of the Capitol, the monument, and all of the DC landmarks. It made for a delightfully personal experience that we will long remember.
Went for milestone wedding anniversary, and they were awesome. Highly recommend.
The waiter was great very attentive knew the menu inside out! Also kudos to the bar tender a must try if his specialty drink Vanilla Bean Lemon Drop Martini! Refreshing and delicious. Definitely will be back. Thanks guys! Keep up the work.
We were seated at one of the best tables in the house. The food was amazing. The service was slightly below average, but the overall experience was excellent.
Celebrated our anniversary with a wonderful dinner here- they surprised us with champagne and a delicious starter prior to our dinner. Everything was delicious and that atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable.
