We truly enjoyed our evening!
Service was excellent and good ambiance.
Service was very poor ..Waiter even acknowledged forgetting about our table, we didn’t expect this from such a good restaurant.
Everything was so amazing. By far exceeded high expectations. Danny and Lewis really know exactly how to make their clientele feel special throughout the entire visit! We will be back.
Great food and all the flavors were awesome
Would go back again!
Great bar service. Lamar the bar keep was hospitable and knowledgable. The bar menu is varied and many items were delicious. A must "go to" for both business and tourists.
As always, we were so well taken care of - outstanding food, service, wine & ambiance. We felt special and cared for - what more could you ask for. Intimate and sweet.
As with so many high end steak houses, the beef lacked in-depth flavor. The gnocchi were gluey and heavy. Too much added sugar in the breads, butter and even the mignonette for the oysters. It wasn't crowded, but the noise was still a roar. We won't be back.
The food was amazing, but I hate to say this - the service was subpar. Our waiter was not professional at all; some of the comments that were made were rude and not to mention he was clearly ready to be out of there; he tried to redeem himself at the end but the mood was sort of ruined by then. The manager walked by but did not ask how everything was going, otherwise I would have said something. I’ve been to several steakhouses in DC and this one by far had the worse service. We did run into another waiter as we were walking out and he was far more pleasant so we chalked it up as our bad luck to be stuck with our guy.
Needs valet service. The service and food are excellent. They are flexible with food ir dietary requirements. Will go again
Great, great food. The cowboy ribeye was spectacular. Nephew got the Wagu and had rave reviews (also high on the foie gras). MATTHEW was the best at suggestions, attentive, good pacing. AND Matthew offered, and we took him up, on rooftop views of Capitol/DC, after our meal. Way to go!
I’ll begin by saying that I believe five star ratings should be reserved for very few, and that the four star rating is to indicate a great restaurant experience. Charlie Parker has excellent steak as expected. Cuts and prep were without flaw. You will get the doneness you ask for. The filet is outstanding, cutting like butter. Potatoes au gratin reminded me of my mother’s. Broccoli rabe with chili pepper flakes and wasabi however was intolerably hot, even though I can tolerate quite a bit of heat. The surroundings are quite nice, right next to the Capital with a view from the wall of windows of nearby green parks. The service is very attentive without being intrusive. The room is attractive and feels like a place for a power lunch on the Hill. A non traditional baked Alaska did not live up to the original, but spheres of raspberry sorbet were delicious. I’d go with the assorted ice creams and sorbet for dessert.
My husband loved this restaurant. They made him feel special on his birthday.
Our waiter David P. provided excellent service which increased our enjoyment of the evening. The cocktails were excellent and the food was very good. The only draw back was the quality of the steak was not as tender as it should have been with dried aged beef. Dessert was terrific.
Appetizer (tuna tartare) and dessert (peanut butter something) were incredible. The New York strip steak was underwhelming. Go for the ribeye...
Don’t come here unless you’re prepared to spend a pretty penny. But otherwise it was the best meal I’ve ever had and truly could not be happier. We had the charcuterie plate, a filet, a cut of Wagyu, broccoli rabe, and mashed potatoes. Super flavorful and perfectly cooked.
Fun tip: you can bring your own wine!
Great food, very good service, excellent ambiance.
Our experience was superb! We had great food and service. We made reservations for our 4th anniversary while we were in town from Dallas, TX! The experience did not disappoint.
I've been to Charlie Palmer's Steakhouse for lunch several times, but never for dinner (for one reason or other). As usual, the food was excellent and the service superb (attentive but not intrusive--always a hard balance to strike). The wine list was, to say the least, extensive and the sommelier handy with excellent suggestions. Many of the wines were expensive, so be prepared. But there were some reasonable choices on the lower end that worked fine with the steak my companions ordered (and enjoyed--cooked perfectly) and even with my swordfish (I know; fish in a steak place. . . I'm just contrary sometimes). Expensive, so save it for special occasions rather than casual dining, but a treat nonetheless.
Waiter service and food were outstanding as were the wine recommendations
Another amazing experience at Charlie Palmer Steak DC! From the ambiance (new decor is gorgeous) to the attentive and friendly service, this is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, business-related meal or just a fun evening with friends. The menu is the most creative of all the DC steak houses, really enjoyed Chef Mike Ellis’s new stuffed zucchini blossom appetizer! Steaks are always perfect, tried the Japanese A5 which is like butter. Hats off to General Manager Michael Irving, who runs a classy operation with his charming personal touch!
I say it was an excellent lunch in and it's it worth for a second chance
We visited the restaurant for my husbands birthday and the service was very poor. I truly believe if the service was better the first time experience would have been a night to remember. We had a party of 10 and one of the guest in my party didnt receive his meal until the other 9 people finished eating. When his dish finally came out, it was free because it was so late. Not what I expected.
Wonderful service. Always checking on our needs but never interfering with discussions. The food was delicious and sides good to share. They are very accommodating with splitting an entree as well. Great location neat Capitol. Definitely a place for a date night or friends special outing or an amazing dinner with your special someone
Charlie Palmer's is a very convenient spot for lunch or early dinner business meetings. Our servicer was out of this world - knew when to address us and when not to. He was a very kind and soft spoke server whom I greatly enjoyed. The food is always excellent.
Loved the food although it was quite noisy so it was difficult to have a conversation. My steak was fabulous and my husband enjoyed the scallops very much. Will love to go again when we are in DC.
Awesome food. Chef Michael is at the top of his game
Fantastic food and service.
The restaurant is beautiful! Very trendy and at the same time very comfortable. Most steak houses are dark and a bit claustrophobic, but this restaurant is open, warm lighting and quite energetic. The service was impeccable, but not stuffy! The servers are friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and offered great suggestions. The grilled Spanish octopus was awesome. The Hamachi appetizer was a bit odd for us. Somehow, we couldn’t appreciate the taste of the fresh fish with strawberries. We liked that they had 1/2 size entrees and the rib eye steak was great. For dessert, we shared the assorted sorbets and custards. This was a perfect dessert for a hot, humid day and light enough after a heavy meal.
My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. The service was great. The food was excellent. We will definitely come back.
First time great experience. Steak was great.
Celebrating a graduation...they brought a complementary champagne toast and a dessert for the graduate...very nice evening.
We enjoyed a great date night. Daniel was attentive but not intrusive. Everyone worked together seamlessly to deliver a delicious experience. Ordered the 42 oz 29 day aged ribeye and next want to try the filet. See you all soon. Thanks. Maria
One of the best meals I've had at a DC steakhouse in quite sometime. Outstanding food and service. Keep up the good work!
Great location, great food, service was a little off that night. We got forgotten a little bit and didn’t feel like we got a “fine dining experience” (my gf used to be a server). Either way I’d go back for sure.
Steak was marginal. Asked for semi charred. Looked steamed when served.
As the only non-steak eater in our party, I ordered the swordfish on the recommendation of the server. It was a great looking portion with excellent garlic & lemon risotto and morels. Unfortunately the swordfish was a bit overcooked but good nonetheless. I did mention this to the hostess upon leaving the restaurant and she promised to let the kitchen know. The steak eaters in our group were very pleased with their choices.
This was not a good experience. We compared to Ruth Chris and Charlie Palmer failed. Green beans hard, steak unflavored
The ambiance was terrific. Once you enter you know you are in a special restaurant. The service was spectacular-very attentive. The meals were served timely and all at once the way it is supposed to be served. The only suggestion I would make is that they need to have a bit more wines in the moderate price range.
