The salmon on the avocado toast wasn’t good. It left a horrible after taste. Wife and I had one bite each and we stopped eating it. Our waiter was awesome. Forgot his name but he was a young black gentleman with braids. Great service and he was amazing. Would definitely come back if he was our waiter. Food was good but the salmon on the avocado toast was not pleasant.
Had the salmon ... nothing special
The food was tasty but not up to par with the price. The Cesar Salad could have been assembled by a 4 year old but the location, atmosphere and cocktails numbed that annoyance.
Everything was great except the mashed potatoes tasted Like instant mashed potatoes which was very surprising considering everything else was A+
We had a very memorable meal here. The service was just outstanding from start to finish. The food was remarkable.....ceasar salad was fabulous ....not too much dressing and super fresh. We shared the filet and it was perfect. Also shared the potato puree and asparagus and both were excellent. My only issue is the atmosphere is too much like a hotel dining room.....which it is lol but it feels like it. Wish it were more intimate to keep up with some of the other classic steak houses. But, because of the food and service we will definitely be back on our next trip to Napa.
Arrived approximately 15 prior to reservation but we were seated almost immediately. We decided to sit outside so they quickly prepared our table. Hostess was nice and hospitable. Our server, Jay, was on top of his game from introduction to final payment. Will return in the future when a full menu is available.
Our food was bland, over cooked and dry. Our waiter was very unenthusiastic and impatient. NEVER AGAIN !
would have liked something special since it was my husbands birthday. Steak for two was wonderful!
Had breakfast here prior to COVID-19 - food and coffee was very good! But this time around- the q
The restaurant is set in a beautiful hotel. Food is not up to par for the price and setting.
Second time dining here. Both times we elected to sit at bar(since we can’t do that in LA).
This time we had baked oysters, rib eye steak and fries.
Food was solid, no issues. Thought the steak lacked a little flavoring but was cooked right. 🤷♂️
Celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. The food was great, but to be expected since it’s way overpriced.
We came in for a 7 am breakfast meeting. The restaurant opens a 7 am. We were early by 10 min. They sat us right at 7am.
The food and service was as good as you might expect. We all got the impression that the breakfast service was really designed to be later in the am.
Food was great with a few exceptions. but no complaints. $$$$
Not too bad, fairpy decent food, but the steaks werent anything special.
Great steaks and sea food. The menu was a little limited on certain items as they have just reopened.
I left this restaurant unimpressed with the food and the service. I really think if you are a steakhouse you should cook the steak correctly. When I ordered the fillet medium well, I told the waitress it was OK if they needed to butterfly it in order to reach the proper temperature I don’t think she communicated that to the staff in the back… But somehow the chef didn’t think to ask either… it was not butterflied and not cooked properly the steak came out medium rare. When I had to send it back it then came out charcoal black and still not correct. When I didn’t finish my steak… Not even half of it the waitress never bothered to ask how I liked it or if it was OK. She seemed unable to find a wine decanter that would fit an entire bottle of wine so that the wine we brought could breathe which seems odd to be a steakhouse in Napa and not have a proper decanter. The menu was uninspiring I so wanted to love this as it was my 25th wedding anniversary dinner but although we will be back to Napa I doubt we will visit the steakhouse again.
Had surf and turf which was cooked well but not “wow”. We’d eaten at the Charlie Palmer Dry Creek Kitchen the night before and expected this experience to be on par with that. The food was good but the ambience is lacking. The restaurant was really dark with no separation between areas so it felt like a hall with dining tables. Just not very intimate and actually very much had a feeling of casino dining. Not great for a really special feeling where you’d dress up beyond casual neat.
We could not wait for Charlie Palmer's to open! The food was quite frankly incredibly delicious and better than ever. One of the best Caesar salads - the crisp romaine literally dusted with parmesan as the anchovies were. Not overdressed, just the way we love it!
To top it off, we both had the petite filet and it was the most tender, mouth watering, perfectly cooked filet! And I truly mean every word. Our meal was accompanied with beautifully roasted asparagus and mashed potatoes, so creamy!
If you want a meal to thrill your palette, celebrate finally getting out, celebrating a very special occasion or just because you want to eat out, GO!
I was expecting a better food experience. My pancakes tasted like they were burnt instead of crispy on the edges and cooked with something else on the griddle...also didn't really appreciate having someone bring their dog who was trying to puke on the floor. This was an indoor dining experience.
Long wait for our reserved outside table but were seated inside anyway without explanation.
Server was flustered about a call out and shared that with our table. Had to ask for coffee & water & replenishments.
Omelette had raw veggies inside, cheese had not melted, all was not up to proper temperature.
The waitress was somewhat scattered at times. Maybe she’s new, maybe she had a rough morning....expected much better service at a steakhouse of that level in Napa.
This was an absolute embarrassment for Charlie Palmer’s. When we had to switch to the rooftop, we weren’t told we couldn’t order off the menu. Totally understand the situation and needing to adjust to the roof, however, the one thing you can control is the food. It was the worst meal that we have had in a long time and the absolute worst Thanksgiving meal, ever. The main course was horrible, it was cold and the turkey was very dry and hard, hidden briefly by shavings of dark meat and gravy. It’s ridiculous to think what you were charging for such poor food. I am asking for a full refund as we put our faith in you for a special evening and it was blown. We were on our honeymoon in Napa and this was an awful experience.
The Wagyu steak was absolutely delicious, definitely would recommend getting for a good, high quality steak! The service was exceptional and the ambiance was nice.
The pros first...I ordered the NY which was delicious. Juicy and cooked perfectly. For dessert the cinnamon roll with ice cream was really good too. Now the cons...From a server standpoint he barely engaged with us. He came across as if we were an after thought. I don’t need him to be my buddy but more then one word answers would be nice. My daughter had the filet and it was med rare but dry. She said it didn’t really have any flavor. Our sides were mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. The potatoes were just warm not hot. As if they sat before the rest of the meal was cooked. We were staying at the Archer( fabulous hotel) and when another server brought the dessert we ordered he also put a plate of 2 macaroons down and walked away. We assumed it must be something the restaurant gives everyone. Our original server came over and said oh I see you got macaroons guess it’s someone’s birthday.... then walked away!! It was just so odd. Needless to say when you’re spending 60-70 an entree you shouldn’t walk away from the meal feeling disappointed with half the food and all of the service.
Meh.... Charlie Palmer Steak was just ok. The service was not up to what you would expect from a higher end steakhouse. Our servers seemed they were in a hurry to get us out. The food was again just ok... the best things we had were the ribeye and the lobster risotto both dishes delivered what you would expect. The other dishes were just average. Dessert was terrible, with only three selections we had the the chocolate cherry peppercorn cake with sorbet, the texture and the taste of the cake was the worst. As for the ambiance, the restaurant is in a space that is used for multiple seatings, so it’s just a big open room. Meh.
Excellent food quality, tomahawk steak was on point thank you chef!our waitress gena was outstanding polite answered all our questions regarding the menu, always made sure our drinks were full.
I would highly recommend this spot!
Greg Neal, GM, did a great job making us feel welcome, helping the kitchen recover from an early error, over cooked steak, and turned what could have been a 1 into an outstanding rating.
We were in Napa for a few days and looked at reviews and decided to book a reservation. It was the best decision I made. The wine was spectacular. We started with the lovely Caesar salad which I shared with my husband and they kindly split. I had the Sirloin steak which was seasoned to perfection. We ordered the truffle Mac and cheese and my husband for the first time really enjoyed Mac and cheese. My husband had the lobster risotto which struck the right balance. We topped off our delicious and tasty dinner with a beautiful dessert which was a pudding whipped with moscato wine and some pears and crumble. To die for!
We were expecting something very different. We are used to fantastic steak houses N the Phoenix area , so we expected something g as good if not better. There are too many other great little restaurants in Napa to go to. We were disappoint in the service and the food quality.
Wife and I had breakfast. Mixed experience. Started out that the server said they were out of Bloody Mary - at 830am - so we had to settle for mimosas. The lemon ricotta pancakes were fantastic but I ordered an over easy egg and it came out hard sunny side up. Sent it back and the second one came back the same way. You expect some runny yolk but no dice. Wife’s omelet was very good. We had an excellent dinner here pre-COVID and a good dinner at their Reno location. Better stuff elsewhere.
Kickoff was fumbled but recovered. Service started slow but good overall. Add on Lobster order was expeditious.
Corkage was waived. The food was delish.
Don’t know if we’ll return
I think it is over priced. Good cuts of meat but not worth the price. We had asparagus that was over sautéed.
Charlie Palmer Steak serves fine food. I've gone a number of times since 2018 and it's always quite enjoyable -- both the cuisine and the ambience.
My only criticism regards value: It seems that since 2018, the entree portions have notably decreased. My recent meal was salmon...and frankly it was barely enough food to keep a small bird quiet -- which, given the price point, was bothersome and detracted from the overall experience. All the more, the salmon, although delectable, was not particularly distinctive or singular as a "culinary experience". My suggestion: order at least two "sides" for your entree -- given your entree will most likely be visually consistent with a child's plate... (and nothing is worse than dropping near 2 bills for a dinner -- only to come home needing to warm up some leftovers to fill the void).
Tried the Sunday Burger Deal..Mine was very good..My Lady Friend's Tirkey Burger was a little salty to her taste..Otherwise a good experience..Will be back to hoperfully give that other star!!
Food was absolutely delicious!!!!the staff was very attentive!!!
Reduced Covid menu- food was great as usual. Ambiance was marked down as it was very quiet although we were eating early. Glad to see them open again..
Absolutely the best dining experience I’ve ever had! Greg, Chef Eddie, and ALL of the staff are amazing! ~ the Wagyu NY Strip is out of this world! Thank you all- we can’t wait to see you on your next visit to Napa!
Napa is fortunate in having a several excellent steak houses. Charlie Palmer Steak is certainly one of the best. And if you like oysters, you must try the bake oysters.
We had the filet and the bone-on New York Strip, "seared-rare" which were delicious. And if you want an unusual "side", try the appetizer portion of the risotto with lobster.
We brought an old Napa cab to dinner - there is no corkage on the first bottle of a Napa wine.
It's nice to have Charlie Palmer Steak back, even at 25%, which leaves plenty of room for appropriate distancing.
Just delightful personnel. Food oh so good!!! Wonderful evening.
