Very enjoyable except the table is a bit tight
Everyone was warm and welcoming. Denise our hostess was personable and efficient, while Miles was friendly and educated. Made great conversation of our mutual connection to Chicago. One thing that stood out to me was that from our first drinks down to our last dish, my husband was always served first. While it is customary to address a husband and wife as Mr. and Mrs., there is no questions that the woman should be served first or poured wine first. It shows an extra step above when this is executed properly.
Every aspect of our lunch, including the bar selection of wines was outstanding.
Great service and good food
Maybe they just had an off night??? We ate at Charlie Palmer last May and the food was very good, so we went back for my Mother-in-law's birthday this past Saturday. The salmon was ordered medium well and came out rare, the fillet was ordered medium rare and came out medium, the lamb was order well-done and came out medium rare. The oysters were fishy and full of shell (a new variety on their menu...likely not their fault). And the desert was soooo sweet that my teeth were vibrating.
Overall, very disappointed but like I said, maybe they had an off night.
Great food. Great service.
Steak was unbelievable
Classic steak house menu. We ordered steak and salmon And everything well prepared and presented. Tuna tartare appetizer has bright flavors.
Had a nice dinner with my husband. Ben was our server and he was great. Very friendly and professional. Everyone there was so helpful and really worked as a team to make sure all tables had what they needed.
Food and service were excellent. We ordered the locals “cut of the week” which includes a wine pairing with the salad and main courses. Unfortunately the wines were very mediocre and not at the level of the food. I would not order the wine pairing again.
The food was amazing! Service was outstanding! They made us feel at home:)
Well, a little expensive, but excellent food and world class service.
Charlie Palmer Steak has it right. Great staff, never obtrusive, a kitchen that times the meals perfectly and serves signature steaks at a perfect temperature. This is Napa and a good steak house needs a knowledgeable sommelier that both respects the knowledge of the people at the table and yet, can add to the evening. Kudos to Myles Trapp. Kudos also to our waiter who took the time to ask for and repeat and use our names all evening.
It was a birthday celebration complimented by two absolutely delicious porterhouse steaks accompanied by broccolini, Brussels sprouts and melt in my mouth potato puree. The food was fantastic and our server, Zack, was friendly and funny. We ended the meal with the strawberry shortcake dessert which added the perfect ending to our meal.
Very noisy environment, it is the lobby of the Archer Hotel.
We've had dinner before and it was excellent. Wanted to try lunch - also excellent value for the price! We enjoyed the Daily Menu - the tri tip was outstanding. Excellent service! A must try!
They do meat well. but good lord. I have had really superior steak for 3/4 of the price. With really elegant surroundings, great people, and warm service. Very overrrated and over priced. Plus the only outstanding memory is the money spent.
We enjoyed the visit but the portions were small for the price. There was nothing special abut the food. The bar drinks were fine, the service was good but especially friendly.
We just left Charlie Palmer a few minutes ago and I have to say, the food and service were absolutely amazing. I have never had service as incredible as how Ben was tonight.
My fiance and I went there for a celebratory dinner for him being at his job for 7 years. My fiance is a stubborn man and while he is learning to be open to new foods, he mostly sticks to what he knows. Tonight, Ben suggested the flat iron steak and described it in a way that was absolutely impressive and got my fiance to not thing twice about ordering it. It just melted in your mouth and had so much flavor.
I got the chicken and gratin potatoes. While the chicken looked sad, its taste was on another planet. It was so moist and juicy. The gratin potatoes were hot and tastey. The right amount of cheese. We got a side of crisp fries. They were the right amount of crisp and cooked to perfection. Not a hint of soggy or disappointment.
I passed on dessert because of how full I was from the food. My fiance wanted the Espresso Martini and Ben suggested a hint of baileys added. So my fiance didnt blink and told him to do what he wanted. The amount of trust Ben built in a few minutes was impressive. The espresso martini was stunning. Smooth and sexy. It was not what I expected and surpassed what I could've imagined. We will definitely be returning. I suggest to anyone going to Charlie Palmer to request Ben. He was an amazing waiter.
everything was great except my wife's tri-tip was tough it involved a lot of chewing. Also the tri-tip had so much flavor too bad it was tough.
We enjoyed the three course lunch special with tri-tip, and the hamburger. Everything was perfect. The salad was beautifully presented, and delicious, and the fries are over the top great. The whole meal was superb. Highly recommend...
Fast and courteous service. Our meals were tasty and satisfying.
Very nice, upscale location!Food easy great but expensive. Our waiter was extremely nice and professional. Our table was next to a very noisy group so he did his best to make sure we were comfortable. We will definitely go back. Just on a specific occasion next time.
Our waiter was stressed out it seemed. It seemed hectic in the room. Don’t know if it’s because of the open air style but it was loud. And it was not a crowded night. Food was great.
Very nice restaurant in the heart of Downtown Napa. Service was great. Food was mediocre at best. Given the prices they charge, their food really was a let down. Bland, not well cooked, seemed to be cheap meats or cooked so bad the meats seemed cheap.
Beautiful low key dining area. Had lunch special, $18 for 3 courses - excellent and they will validate the valet parking.
Enjoyed the oysters, steak sandwiches, bread pudding and black and blue cheesecake. Good wine list!
Awesome food!! Great location and amazing service!
I did not rate a 5 due to upon arriving at the restaurant the hostess was no where in sight. We had a couple of servers to run by saying someone would be with us shortly but no one helped nor tried to find the hostess. I would think at a restaurant where the prices are high and the goal is to be an upscale eatery they would have someone greeting you at all times. The hostess finally showed up and acted as if she was a little disoriented then headed off to, "check to see if our table is ready". In actuality we stood around looking as servers run back and forth with no one acknowledging us for a total of 6 minutes. This may not seem like allot of time; however, it is when you are paying a min of $150.00.
Decent food. Average everything else. Over priced
Excellent wait staff and sommelier. Deconstructed menu items were at best average or below average considering the local competition.
Made a reservation on open table for 8pm on Valentine's day. Showed up and was told that there was a special seven course menu and could not order off regular menu. This was not indicated on open table. Since we there with no other place to go decided to do it. Menu was overpriced, $145pp. Food was ok but it felt like assembly line service. Other customers sitting next to us also where surprised by menu and complained because of a seafood allergy.
What a great Valentine's night dinner. We showed up early and they were more than accommodating to sit us early. The service and food were fantastic. It was my wife's birthday and the restaurant staff made sure to wish her a happy birthday and decorate the dessert plate. She had a great birthday.
The Tomahawk steak was out of this world. Exactly what we look for in a steak, the taste of beef. The seafood platter was also very tasty and the seafood tasted clean and fresh. The sides were just okay. One of them was the cream of spinach which didn't have much flavor. Over all we look forward to our next return. There was also a live musician playing great hits.
One of the top 3 steaks for my wife and I.
Worth the money
Excellent experience. Well done, team. We enjoyed our dinner and the service was timely and executed well.
Worth every penny! Our server, Zach, was great! The food was exactly what we were hoping for, and more. It’s beautifully decorated and comfortable. We will definitely be returning!
Rowdy hotel scene so expect drunk groups while dining. Staff are well trained but a bit over the top...bordering on patronizing. Steak good not aaamazing.
I had a filet mignon. It had gristle in it! The surf 'n turf entree included a lobster tail. Or, actually, 1/2 of a lobster tail, which did not come with drawn butter but, instead, was basted in butter. Not that great. The red wine sauce was too thick and strong. The best thing we had was the clams casino, but if you love clams this wasn't the dish for you. It was far more bacon casino. But, hey, I love bacon; so, I was fine. My wife had the bone-in ribeye with peppercorn sauce. Both were good. The sides we had -- creamed spinach and potatoes gratin -- were mostly tasteless. The waitress was stand-offish, and we couldn't get any real rapport with her. The hostess was lovely and fun. Overall, it was a very chain restaurant feeling.
Food was excellent. The atmosphere was basically a noisy lobby bar.
