Great steaks, very attentive staff. There are certainly less expensive places downtown, but I’d still recommend it.
Seat in the hotel lobby, with next table over guy in a tank top gym shorts and flip flops! So much good food in Napa!
I was really excited to go to this steakhouse reading prior reviews and seeing the menus, but I was shocked to see how much they increased prices from the menu I saw online. The food was done well, but for the price I expected more from the service and ambiance experience. I felt like I was eating in a mall restaurant or hotel lobby restaurant vs high end steak house.

They have made some changes so to staff shortages but that didn’t affect the quality of service. They do need to bring back their deep fried anchovies that used to be on the Cesar salad. I rated them lower on value because their prices have gone up post Covid but that won’t keep us from coming back.
We enjoyed our dinner at Charlie Palmer. But, we had a very strange server.
He would not tell us his name for almost the entire meal, just stating - my name is "trouble". Finally, right at dessert time, we got "John Marshall". Other than the uncomfortable banter, we had a great meal, and the other service was good.
It was just all the strange interactions with "trouble" that made the business dinner awkward.

Steak was a little over cooked and a bit thin for the price.
Online reservations were super easy to make and after looking at their menu, I made sure to contact the host team at Charlie Palmer Steak to make sure that guests were able to enjoy their Build Your Own Burger section of their menu and I was informed that you have to enjoy that dish in their lounge. Upon sitting down in their lounge, we realized we weren't too comfortable as the lounge is shared with the lobby with that of the Archer Hotel. After asking the host desk to change our table to inside their dining room, they were so accommodating for our party of six, as it was a Sunday evening and inside their dining room, they were quite busy. Although it took a while for our dinner to come out, it was well worth the wait as our Tomahawk Steak was one of the well-prepared steaks that I have had in quite some time. With every bite we could experience the virtues of how well dry aged our meat was. Dining at Charlie Palmer Steak in Napa should be appreciated for what it is, a high-end quality dinner with quality dishes and service. They don't hold back on anything here and for them to be here in a new hotel complex in downtown Napa should be experienced for anyone who wants to enjoy a thoroughly prepared steak meal. Your wallet may feel a little lighter after just one meal, but trust me you will be better off once you experience a dinner at Charlie Palmer Steak in Napa.
Food was great, although the menu was very limited. We were a little put off by the chef’s comment that if you order the wagyu beef he refuses to cook it any way but rare. I know chefs can be snobs but the client should decide that, right or wrong. We were disappointed in the ambiance—didn’t realize we would literally be sitting in the lobby of a hotel. For that reason alone I wouldn’t return. Service was pretty slow too. We had to track someone down for dessert and the bill.

Celebrating a 40th bday. Decided to eat at the bar. So glad we did. Bartenders were amazing.
Good service pays off on so so food
If it wasnt so pricey, might have given an additional star but expectations are higher for a steak house of this caliber. We split the tomahawk steak for $160... not only was the steak of poor quality, there was absolutely no flavor. Our server offered our girls lemon drop shots as soon as they walked in. They said yes of course, being just 21, but they weren't shots.. more like double shots. This is out of the ordinary in a supposedly upscale restaurant. They added on a 20% tip since we were 7 people. We would not have given that much tip since service was awful. We will never go back and Charlie Palmer needs to be more discerning about where he puts his name. We go to Charlie Palmers Willow in Rhinebeck NY and its far better but this experience in Napa makes me wonder if he cares about quality food or if its just about the money.

Very very very good! Service gets an A+! Our drinks were beautifully done. The steak and lobster were absolutely perfect!
The food was so delicious. We started with a Paloma and then we had the grilled oysters and the burger with fries. OMG!! Then we had the lobster meat app and the Tomohawk steak with mash and spinach. I will be back!!
Merv was a great server and our filet mignon dishes were awesome. Also, I was very happy that you had valet parking since my dad can't walk very far these days. My dad was very happy with my choice of restaurant for fathers day. Thank you.
Food was better the last time we were there. Wasn’t wow by any of the food. It was ok. But, I think I will look for a different steak house

Not worth the hype, way over priced for what we received. The fingerling potatoes were nothing special just deep fried potatoes and cream spinach was very different and not that good.
Chicken breast was dry. Filet mignon was tasty but tough. Won't go back.
The ambiance was great. Our server was attentive and detailed. The pricing is expensive. But food was great. The only thing that didn’t make it a 5 star rating was the 1 1/2 hour wait for our food. And 49 min wait for bread and butter.
Great service. Poor cuts of meat for the price. 3/4” thick bone-in ribeye, filet was more like a sirloin tip.
Medium rare “Kobe” steaks came out blue rare both times and mostly made of gristle. The Brussels sprouts were burnt as the potatoes bland. The best thing was the service and the wine.
You can taste the care in every dish. The food was outstanding. The seafood was fresh and flavorful. The wagyu was.....beyond every expectation. The desserts are a can't miss!
Too much noise, really bad steak despite (allegedly) been dry age.
I was expecting way better experience
We had dinner here for our anniversary, we were in luck since they had wagyu steaks for their specials. We both had a wagyu steak and it did not disappoint, the A1 was perfect! The pork belly from the appetizers was also melt on your mouth delicious. Our server, Jacob was also great. We enjoyed our time.

Every bite was tremendous. Not a single one without the greatest flavor. The chef is amazing. And he is greatly complimented by the service team. What a delight!
The bar did not have Gray Goose or Kettle One vodka for our martinis, instead we had Chopin, which was good but @ $18 expensive, and the olives were mealy and not stuffed with anything. My filet mignon was served on a large white plate without any garnishment -- a v. poor presentation. Our server was efficient, but not v. friendly. The Host was dressed in blue jeans with a plain shirt -- not what one would expect to see in a first class restaurant, and many of the patrons were allowed to enter wearing shorts and sneakers which I find unpleasant; however, that seems to be the sloppy way of dressing these days when going out to dinner at the finest restaurants which no longer enforce any kind of strict Dress Code.
The food was great, our server was attentive to our needs but wasn’t friendly. I guess part of the experience is not only the food but also heart warming smiles our server presents herself to her customers but otherwise will be back to visit when in town.
