Charlie Palmer at The Knick
The restaurant’s adjacent lounge offers a menu of lighter fare, and, in a nod to the hotel’s legacy as the rumored birthplace of the martini, an exceptional cocktail program featuring the signature Knickerbocker Martini and inventive new favorites.
Limited menu for dinner. Management absent. Slow service.
Food was delicious. Very quiet and enjoyable.
Excellent service. Steaks were cooked perfectly. They’re nearly perfect and with some minor adjustments they would be a 5/5.
Amazing restaurant. We both loved it. Great setting and service was superb. As for the food, speaking as someone who eats out a lot it was extremely good. Really happy there wasn’t a stuffy dress code - well done. Will defiantly be back when next in NY!
A perfect place to meet and dining with client. The Black Coe was perfect!
Good Mother’s Day brunch with attentive service
We shared the pre-theater prix-fixe menu, all very tasty and served at a nice relaxed pace (we arrived at 5:45 for an 8 pm show on a Friday night). Highlights included the warm watercress and garden pea soup, the juicy and tender chicken paillard, and the spring meringue desert with citrus salad and strawberry broth. For drinks, the smoked, bourbon-based black pearl is quite the entertaining production, beginning with a smoke-filled 4-liter Erlenmeyer Flask straight out of the Addams family! All in all, a very pleasant evening for two!
Dinner was prepared very well and service was great.
The venue was dark I wanted to open the curtains to bring in the light.
We chose Charlie Palmer's before we went to New York and what good choice was made. It was quiet enough for us to have conversation, the surroundings were comfortable and elegant. We all had the Knickburger and this was delicious. But the highlight was that we were presented with cake as a joint 50th birthday celebration. The staff were very attentive and looked after all our needs. Our gorgeous waitress especially.
You have to get the buffet breakfast, good food, great choice! Well worth a visit 5 star
Very good pre theater service and excellent food
Service, ambiance, food & presentation were exceptional
Cocktails are of a high standard, attentive and polite service from knowledgeable staff. The food in the restaurant is that of a high end bistro, and delicious. Lobster and filet mignon both consumed with blissful noises and tongue-rolling ecstasy. Great wine list - also a very good “by the glass” choice. Decor and atmosphere harks back to 1920’s speakeasy decadence. This is by both measures an intimate dining location, and a place to see and be seen - not an easy act to pull off.
Of course, this all comes at a price. 2 cocktails, plus dinner for two with wine was over $500. But you do get what you pay for, and it was worth every cent.
Good place, not too noisy which means you can have conversations. Excellent and attentive service. Food quality varied which is why the food part doesn’t get full marks - my food was
very good but another diner in our group ordered his steak medium and it came out overly well done. Other than that everything was good.
It's a nice quiet restaurant in Times Square. Good for meetings amidst the hustle and bustle of Midtown.
Really nice intimate setting suitable for all occasions. Service was great & the steak was amazing, was one of our highlight meals during our visit to NY.
Host was amazing
Very expensive for what you get. Everything tasted fine, presentation nice, our waiter was having a bad day, kind of curt in his answering of questions. Bar is a nice area and there was live jazz. So a drink maybe, but u can pass the restaurant up.
For 9 people Food was ok. One steak was the wrong temp. Had’a redo it. Slow service for a Wednesday.
One of the best burgers I have ever had. Anywhere. Hidden gem on the menu.
Brunch was lovely
Well where do I begin: The food was terrible, eggs came out cold, the Crab sandwich came out with toast that I'm surprised my teeth are still all together and the dressing was not very fresh. I ate the crab only, fries were cold. We've been to the other Charlie Palmers and the food was outstanding...... I really don't know how long this one will be in business if they serve this type of food. Regarding the staff they were all great, it's not their problem that the food was just not up to par. It was not a clean plate experience that's for sure. We won't be going back.....
Bar is a great place to grab a drink in the Times Square area. Relaxed unpretentious place serving high quality meals
We attend pre theatre dinner on a regular basis.
We are greeted at the hostess table by our names and appreciate the value and service in a friendly atmosphere.
Could not have picked a better place pre theatre. Looking forward to coming back! Must order the Fried chicken!!!!
Great experience. Very quiet dining. Food was excellent. The cauliflower au gratin was amazing.
Nothing good to say. We had an early reservation with few people in the restaurant. Service attention, drinks and food quality were subpar. I would not recommend to anyone.
In the past, when I've had the "power lunch" at Charlie Palmer, the food was top notch and the value was outstanding; however, this trip was very disappointing. The food was average at best, and the value isn't there now that they don't have the option to have a cocktail with your lunch for an extra $10. So I paid $35 for a bowl of soup (excellent) and a bowl of pasta (unremarkable). With so many fantastic places to eat in the City, that's just not good enough. I won't be back.
Best lasagna I’ve had in a long time! Staff was friendly
Prix Fixe was delicious and service as expected
A lovely spot for a pre-theater lunch in the hectic, crazy center of Times Square. Very nice menu and wines by the glass. It's hidden on the 4th floor of the old Knickerbocker Hotel so find it and try it on 42nd St.
Great quiet dining space tho bar is loud
Gone here a lot. Food has been better other times. Was disappointed tho will probably go back as it is so convenient to Roundabout and other theaters. And it is quiet after workday. In particular the hamburger was so disappointing. They used to have a really yummy one. This one is two patties and not juicy at all. Why? My tuna was just good not great. And it is not cheap. Service was gracious and responsible. Wine was excellent tho pricey as were drinks.
We were disappointed in the service. The waiter was nice but very confused and we had to ask for things several times before he remembered to bring them. My husbands swordfish and my daughters chicken breast were both overcooked and dry.
Overall delicious meal and lovely evening. It was my wife's birthday and they were incredibly attentive - including a lovely glass of champagne. Great without kids as well! This was our first time at The Knick and at Charlie Palmer and we would absolutely go back!
This restaurant continues to excel and exceed. It is a wonder more people haven't discovered it. Their pre-theatre three-course menu is a super value, and the food was wonderful. Highly recommend.
Charlie Palmer at The Knick is perfect for a business lunch at 42nd St. and Broadway. Unlike the
neighborhood it's sedate and calm. It is now my go to choice for lunch and dinner whenever I'm
Cool vibe, excellent view of Times Square, and the food and service was amazing. I had special dietary restrictions and they handled them with ease.
Service was excellent - food was very basic - chicken over cooked and chewy - drinks and good overpriced for chicken and pasta. Waiter and busboy were great.
Fantastic food, service, location. Highly recommend
