Charlie Palmer at The Knick
The restaurant’s adjacent lounge offers a menu of lighter fare, and, in a nod to the hotel’s legacy as the rumored birthplace of the martini, an exceptional cocktail program featuring the signature Knickerbocker Martini and inventive new favorites.

I’ve been here several times and always had a nice experience. However this time it was a bit off. Bread was a kind of stale; scallops had too much sauce and were somewhat salty and music was too loud in the restaurant area, considering there was a nice, small live band playing better music in the bar area and competing with the piped in music.
Awesome restaurant, can't wait to go back.
Great food and service.
This is a restaurant on its way downhill, unfortunately. Don't know what happened but the staff is definitely weak - don't know what a dry martini is, dropped (yes, dropped) a bottle of 2014 Opus One and didn't know how to treat such a fine bottle of wine. Tables are starting to show wear and tear. Not good. Used to be a great go to spot for business dinners but not anymore.
The lunch menu is good . But then I went there for dinner with clients - VERY limited menu - way too limited
For that price point, I had the expectation of at least hot food..received eggs benedict cold
Service was AMAZING, as was our dinner! Thoroughly enjoyed and will certainly be back soon!
Beautiful Place, just by Madison Square Garden. Dinner was delicious, service was amazing. Will return
It was very good. High energy bar and quiet restaurant. Higher quality everything than I expected right on 42 Street and Broadway. Only issue for me was having two restaurants with similar names within blocks of each other. I wanted to be near the American Airlines Theater and thought I made a reservation for Charilie Palmer Steak but in fact it was for Charlie Palmer at the Knick.
Always one of my favorite places to dine in NYC. Food and service are outstanding. From the moment you walk through the front door, everyone makes you feel special.
The food was great as was the service. Menu pretty small. We liked it.
Excellent service from Matthew. Very flavorful steak, complex and delicious appetizers, AMAZING martini!!!!
Food for the price was not comparable
This was my first visit to Charlie Palmer at the Knick however I have visited other Charlie Palmer restaurants throughout the country. Top quality ingredients prepared well. Service top-notch.
Hoping it is the holiday crowd, this experience compared to my last visit was terrible on every level with the exception of the food
Excellent restaurant in all respects. I had steak and my wife had lamb. Both were cooked perfectly.
We had a 5pm reservation and they expedited our meal so that we could make a 6:30 pm show on Broadway.
Nice place away from madness of time square. Slightly dark and tired decor but very good food and attentive service. Great one hour in and out pre theater option !
Do not go here for breakfast. $42 for buffet and Ala Cart is no better. Runny, disgusting eggs. Hard bagels. Terrible selection and awful service.
Second time, just as good. Very pleasant for table conversation!!
Excellent food and great noise level so we could hear and enjoy
Fabulous oasis in a neighborhood where it’s difficult to find good restaurants. Their Christmas decorations were gorgeous!
Very limited menu, slow service
This was one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten. Everyone in our party agreed! The dishes were complimentary of each other. The presentation was beautiful. Service, outstanding. We will be back!!
We had a nice breakfast here on Thanksgiving, though we were not staying at the hotel. As always, the food was very good. Service was average. While we will definitely return on our next trip to NYC, I wish they would update some of their seating as I was on a bench seat that sank and I felt like a small child eating at the adult’s table.
The food was mediocre and overpriced. The wait staff is attentive. Noise level terrific for conversation.
Limited menu for dinner. Management absent. Slow service.
Food was delicious. Very quiet and enjoyable.
Excellent service. Steaks were cooked perfectly. They’re nearly perfect and with some minor adjustments they would be a 5/5.
Amazing restaurant. We both loved it. Great setting and service was superb. As for the food, speaking as someone who eats out a lot it was extremely good. Really happy there wasn’t a stuffy dress code - well done. Will defiantly be back when next in NY!
A perfect place to meet and dining with client. The Black Coe was perfect!
Good Mother’s Day brunch with attentive service
We shared the pre-theater prix-fixe menu, all very tasty and served at a nice relaxed pace (we arrived at 5:45 for an 8 pm show on a Friday night). Highlights included the warm watercress and garden pea soup, the juicy and tender chicken paillard, and the spring meringue desert with citrus salad and strawberry broth. For drinks, the smoked, bourbon-based black pearl is quite the entertaining production, beginning with a smoke-filled 4-liter Erlenmeyer Flask straight out of the Addams family! All in all, a very pleasant evening for two!
Dinner was prepared very well and service was great.
The venue was dark I wanted to open the curtains to bring in the light.
We chose Charlie Palmer's before we went to New York and what good choice was made. It was quiet enough for us to have conversation, the surroundings were comfortable and elegant. We all had the Knickburger and this was delicious. But the highlight was that we were presented with cake as a joint 50th birthday celebration. The staff were very attentive and looked after all our needs. Our gorgeous waitress especially.
You have to get the buffet breakfast, good food, great choice! Well worth a visit 5 star
Very good pre theater service and excellent food
Service, ambiance, food & presentation were exceptional
Cocktails are of a high standard, attentive and polite service from knowledgeable staff. The food in the restaurant is that of a high end bistro, and delicious. Lobster and filet mignon both consumed with blissful noises and tongue-rolling ecstasy. Great wine list - also a very good “by the glass” choice. Decor and atmosphere harks back to 1920’s speakeasy decadence. This is by both measures an intimate dining location, and a place to see and be seen - not an easy act to pull off.
Of course, this all comes at a price. 2 cocktails, plus dinner for two with wine was over $500. But you do get what you pay for, and it was worth every cent.
Good place, not too noisy which means you can have conversations. Excellent and attentive service. Food quality varied which is why the food part doesn’t get full marks - my food was
very good but another diner in our group ordered his steak medium and it came out overly well done. Other than that everything was good.
It's a nice quiet restaurant in Times Square. Good for meetings amidst the hustle and bustle of Midtown.
