Charleston's Restaurant - Mesa
This was our first time at this establishment and it did not disappoint. The food is excellent, portions are large and the service by Jared was fantastic. We will return for what they stated were the best ribs in town.
The Charleston is always a great place to go with amazing food.
I ordered the prime rib. Came out closer to raw and without any horseradish. It took at least 5 minutes to get the horseradish by then the prime rib was cold. Ate it anyway, didn’t feel like complaining at the time.
The good was delicious with generous portions. Only complaint was our waitress seemed to be distracted. It could have been because of restaurant week. But all in all good experience.
The food was good. We had a reservation and was about 20 minutes early however when we got to the restaurant to check in, we had to still wait 30 minutes to get seated. There were others who came in and they got seated right away but we were forced to wait. I'm not sure what the point is for making a reservation and then having to wait like everyone else. We will maybe choose another restaurant next time. To top it off, we had an unruly child at the next table who kept standing up and pushing their chair into me - it was quite annoying. Somethings you can't control but it was just the extra issue on top of the marginal service.
Cj was our server. He was attentive and friendly. The food was great and out quickly. Steaks are always cook exactly to requested temperature.
Always enjoy the food here. The Clam Chowder is one of the best. Love the Catfish as well. Be sure to make a reservation for Fridays or Saturdays!
It was the first time my husband & I went there. It was a recommendation from a friend and we were so happy we went. It was delicious! The service was outstanding and we will certainly go back again!
We love Charlestons. We will be back soon. Very comfortable, service is great, food was fantastic. We had two ladies with birthdays and we each received a scoop of ice cream with chocolate topping, very nice and it was a very nice touch of kindness and appreciation shown to us for choosing to come celebrate at your restaurant.
The manager was rude and condescending. The FABULOUS bartender lady, Jamie, was as awesome as could be! She’s friendly, funny engaging, we loved her!!! If not for her we would have walked out!
Charleston's or "Chuck's" as we fondly call it, is our go-to place for dinners out. I've had nothing but great food, service, and the beautiful dining room tops it all off. We had an amazing dinner there for my husband's birthday recently. He loved the Reuben and I gobbled up my usual Chicken Club Salad and scrumptious croissant. He ordered 2 desserts in honor of his birthday-the carrot cake and the bread pudding. He remarked it was the best bread pudding he ever tasted, and he's quite the critic when it comes to that treat. The carrot cake was warm, and the icing was all gooey and terrific. As always, the servers (whom we call ninjas because they wear black) were outstanding, friendly, and non-intrusive. From the moment I pull up in the parking lot to the lovely smells coming from inside the restaurant, I know I'm in for a special dinner.
Great food and even better service. Pays to get a reservation ahead of time as they can be pretty busy on Saturday night. Steaks are perfectly cooked and everything else on point as well. For what you get, the pricing is also excellent. $29 for the filet with a potato, most places you pay more than that for just the steak. Be sure to try the Carrot Cake for dessert if you like that sort of thing!
Everything was fine except the waiter forgot that I told him I couldn't have any citrus and he brought me a refill iced tea with a lemon floating in it.
Loved the quiet, calming atmosphere and our waiter was attentive and helpful. The food was pretty good and they had a nice selection on the menu but nothing was outstanding. Seemed like you pay for the atmosphere, and service and I have only good things to say about that but the food...just OK for the price.
Interesting take on chicken piccata! Attentive hostesses and waiter. We all loved our dinners! Will be returning in thefuture. Need dessert varieties.
Food was quite good. Too much food for one person. Prices are a bit steep. Too much noise made it difficult to converse with my table mates. The key lime pie was excellent but the pieces were far too large. Most restaurants offer a small piece —a size to top off the meal without overdoing it. Thank goodness for people bags.
The shrimp cargot was delicious, with a rich garlic butter sauce. The sirloin steak was cooked perfectly. The Bloody Mary was extra spicy, as requested. Service was excellent. Our waiter, Nicholas, was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint was that with the room full of patrons, it was quite loud at times. Especially, with the additional noise from the kitchen.
We like Charleston's for the ambiance, great service, and booth seating, but I always end up ordering the Hand-Cut Filet. I feel there aren't a lot of good choices for someone like myself who needs to go gluten-free. Having a gluten-free (corn & rice) pasta would be a nice addition to the menu. Many other restaurants offer gluten-free pasta, but so far Charleston's is not stepping up. I could go with a burger with no bun, but their burgers are pretty basic—nothing special about the toppings. I was hoping the enchilada in a corn tortilla would be gluten-free, but it's not.
Excellent fried catfish! I changed the sides to a stuffed potato and baked carrots. All were wonderful! It was also a very good value for the money!
Wonderful food and great service
This is one of our favorite date night restaurants. Food is always excellent and friendly attentive staff make it a lovely evening
Excellent food and service. Our server, Kaley, was awesome.
We celebrated my Moms birthday here and I’m only sorry I didn’t find this place sooner! Fantastic service, all of the food was excellent and I loved the ambiance!! Highly recommend!!
The wait staff was great. The ambience was pleasant. The food was bland and boring. Chicken was dry and difficult to chew. Enchiladas were dry and served with some sliced tomatoes. Probably won't go back. Expected better tasting food for $17/plate.
Kaylyne was awesome! She was very helpful and the food was great. We love the online reservation system.
We had a great time. Staff was outstanding and everyone enjoyed their meal. Thank you.
In my opinion, Charlestons has the best "dinner ribs" in the East Valley. You'll enjoy them in the best atmosphere with the best service. The ribs are a bit expensive but worth an occasional visit nonetheless. My favorite restaurant, period.
Always enjoy eating at Charleston. They never disappoint
Excellent service, great food...never a bad experience.
Great menu and service. Perfect spot to catch up with friends.
Family get together!
1st time been there on my special day, service are very well and foods are great !
Our server, Raven, needs another career. Was phony friendly, didn't offer any bread or anything extra, and when we asked her why they didn’t give out bread anymore she said, “Oh, you have to ask for it”, and smirked and walked off. Food made 2 of us sick, 1 person’s Was mediocre, and one person’s food actually came out good. No sides included, outrageous prices for such small portions with nothing extra. Ambiance is very nice. Used to be a top notch restaurant but not anymore with servers like Raven, can see why there are so many empty tables at dinner time. Won’t be back.
Great night as always. No issues and still the bests in town.
Celebrated my sister’s birthday! She had her fav ribs and garlic mashed! She loved it! Always perfect!!
We made reservations never dreaming that when we arrived, there was standing room only! With all the people, it was a bit warm but not so uncomfortable we could not enjoy our meal.
This was our first visit to Charleston's. May Dad and I had the Prime Rib which was excellent and my husband had the parmesan coated chicken which he also thought was exceptional. The server answered all our questions and was very attentive during the entire meal - making sure things were cooked to our liking and refilling our drinks often.
My favorite dinner place!!!!
Always first choice when asked where do I want to go for dinner.
The food was fair, but the prime rib sandwich meat was not tender shaved prime rib as advertised. It was tough.
It was our first visit and we definitely will be back!
