My friends and I were celebrating our High School Prom at your restaurant. Everything was perfect! Our waiter was exceptionally nice! Thank you for making our evening memorable!!
The food was awful!! How do you mess up calamari? It was soggy! It was almost like it was pre made then put in the microwave. The portions were small and the food was just awful! My food wasn’t even warm! Don’t waste your time or money!!
Menu limited and the food was below average. Stay away from the carb cakes
The market vegetable dish with farro was way too oily. It’s an excellent idea, just need to cut out the oil and include more vegetables. There were just a few pieces zucchini and squash. For the price, add more vegetables!
The calamari have way too much batter, are way too small and are way too oily.
The server was unprofessional. While we were engaged in conversation rather than apologizing for the interruption, she just started yelling louder than we were talking.
She rushed everyone by removing plates before we were finished. Well-trained servers know that they don’t remove plates until everyone at the table has finished eating. That way, those who eat more slowly are not uncomfortable.
They are disorganized in that they often bring food to the wrong table, and always to the wrong person.
Great staff, brought out complimentary dessert for a birthday celebration . Everyone loved their meals
Lunch reservation made weeks prior. Thought CHFH would be fun on the waterfront after touring the Yorktown. Beautiful restaurant setting. Given a table next to the windows. Unfortunately, it took almost 10 min for someone to acknowledge us. Our waitress finally came by to say she would be with us "shortly". She looked frazzled and the restaurant wasn't even crowded yet. I asked her to take our drink order before she ran by again. We waited 20 min for our drinks. She proceeded to tell us the bartender wasn't happy because she went behind the bar to make our drinks herself. Oh dear.
The food was okay, potions on the small size and a bit overpriced.
Food was good, more importantly though — the service was wonderful. Both servers were very friendly and helpful.
Waited 30 minutes for drinks. Stopped a manager and asked about our drinks, he went to the bar and brought them over but not a single comment from him - sorry for the wait would have been nice.
Menu not very exciting.
Had been here 2 years ago and was fantastic, don’t know what happened but very disappointed.
We see no reason to pay $20 to park just to enter a restaurant. Won't be back. If that's southern hospitality you can keep it
CHFH had great food, a great atmosphere, and an incredible view. Our server was forgetful...to the point of forgetting to even get my father-in-law's order! We had to request our drink orders a couple times in order to get them. The food was good, portions were smallish, but enough that we didn't stop somewhere on the way home...but I'd suggest at least getting an appetizer. The restaurant is attached to a nice hotel and after we ate, we enjoyed walking around the marina at sunset. There are pretty great views of downtown Charleston and The Yorktown. We would have recommended this restaurant had the server been better...like we were his only table and our bill was several hundred dollars and we kept having to remind him to bring us basic stuff.
Great setting and great view. Waiter gave good service, but did little to review the menu or tell us about featured dishes or catch of the day. The New England Clam Chowder was just OK -tasted more like potato soup. My wife enjoyed the crab cakes, but I thought they were fair at best. I had the oven-roasted Flounder and was surprised that it was a whole fish and bone-in. Not much flavor, but the the bed or rice and shrimp was good. The Key Lime Pie was good.
Overall, the food was fair at best and at a premium price...certainly not impressed and won’t be going back.
A little disappointed . I had made Easter reservations for two and was told a 44.95 buffet and when we arrived no buffet and no crab cakes .
Seems that all SC Restaurants do not have a pre-approval bread service 😒. Wait staff very engaging and knowledgeable.
The food and the view were wonderful. The restaurant was not crowded at all. The kitchen was a little slow and did not fulfill two. basic requests correctly (one for a plain cheeseburger, came out as plain hamburger — one for no onions on a sandwich, came out with onions). The wonderful waitress took care of both issues quickly, so overall we were all very happy with our meals.
Great service, amazing food!
There are so many good places to eat in Charleston. Unfortunately this is not one of them. At least they could be a little more self aware and not be outrageously expensive for the quality of food and service. I know now why it was so easy to make a reservation last mo
We were there a couple years ago and the food was amazing and were so looking forward to going back. The menu was different this time and selection seemed less enticing. The salmon was overly salty and the fried shrimp and oyster platter was so greasy and way over cooked. Made reservations online and requested a window seat, we were sat in front of the garage doors and couldn't see outside which was why we requested a window seat... and the place was pretty empty, we could have had a better seat. Service was decent but was really disappointed after looking forward to returning after 3 years. For the price, will be trying somewhere else next time.
Delicious meal, fantastic service and a gorgeous view!
Excellent food. I had the salmon. Perfectly cooked. We will be back
Great food exhalant views staff was very helpful. Best shrimp and grits I have ever had
The ambiance and decor is beautiful. Loved being in the water and ability to view the harbor while dining. The menu is a bit limited. I think they should offer more of a variety. A little pricey too. The food was good but not a good value.
I loved the open air balcony upstairs bar. Not too crowded. Nice music and perfect temperature that evening.
My second visit to the restaurant, one Excellent! Keep up the Great Job!
Prom dinner was perfect
Fried shrimp were large and delicious. Shrimp and grits was very good, but not a huge portion. The view is very nice although it wasn't a pretty day outside. On a beautiful day I think it would be much nicer and we would have loved to enjoy the bar on the second floor, but again... weather. We went about 6:00 on a Saturday night. It was not crowded and the restaurant was not loud. Not a lot of energy in the room, but a pleasant quiet delicious meal with a beautiful view.
Wonderful food, view and ambiance. Get there early for better service. Expensive, but excellent food. Rooftop bar so wonderful. I'm local, so been to lots of area's food establishments. Fish house is great for showing visitors Charleston beautiful sunset views on the water.
We were good with the experience. However we had asked for a outdoor table and the hostess never even mentioned that we could have sat outside upstairs on the roof, which was lovely and exactly what we were looking for. It was beautiful up there and sunny. We did not discover it until we were leaving. It was freezing in the restaurant. Most of the people had their jackets on.
Food and service excellent. Trying to get a parking place and trying to get out of the lot very difficult. Machine would not read the bar code. Spent 5-10 minutes waiting for other to get out of the lot for the same reason. Finally drove around to find another exit that correctly read the bar code. All toll wasted about 20 minutes just to get out of the complex, won't go back because of this system.
Our waiter, PJ, was exceptional and would go again if he were to be our waiter. We don’t mind paying for good food and a great selection. It was hard to choose something on the menu, nothing really stood out to me, I was craving fish. To be a “fish house” on the water, their selection of seafood was minimal. I was really hoping for this to be an amazing Charleston dining experience because we spend a lot time down at the harbour, this is a great location, it’s a beautiful restaurant, and the staff was great.
Great place, waiter was excellent, and food very good.
Great food and drinks, service was awesome along with the view
Love the rooftop bar. Always have good food and service when we eat at Charleston Harbor Fish House. We usually visit the restaurant with family and/or friends. Everyone has always enjoyed the experience.
The restaurant was half full the entire time we were there for dinner, but we were sat where the sun was blinding to 2 seats at our table. They don’t give you bread or anything else when you are seated. Our menus had different prices for the same items. The least expensive menu item was $25/$30 on the other menu. They were turning people away without reservations, but the restaurant was never full. The restaurant was extremely noisy. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant where for 3 people the bill was over $100.
Grouper and the service was amazing! The views from window tables was perfect in the evening.
Arrived on time for our reservation and were immediately seated along the window. Shared double order of oysters around the table, excellent. The she crab soup was also very good. Filet was one of the best I’ve had as was the bollabaise. Looking forward to a return visit.
Excellent food! Enjoyed the view and the food selection. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes seafood done well.
Good food, eclectic menu, lots of fresh options.
We enjoyed the meal, the service and the view. We will definitely come back.
Such a shame and waste of a beautiful venue. The food get worse each time we go. Service is apathetic. The place needs new management.
The wait staff was pretty slow even though they weren’t busy and our server was not very friendly and seemed put off by my wife and I. It took me asking someone to fill my water glass back up even though there was someone walking around filling up glasses they never bothered to come check on us. Wife’s steak was sub par, veggies were overcooked. Atmosphere was very nice.
The environment and service were as excellent as the food is!
