The seafood dish was good, but do not offer bread/toast with entrees. Grilled chicken on the salad had no seasoning or flavor but just the taste of the grill/pan residue, it was almost inedible. The wedge salad was delicious! Wait staff was not extremely interactive nor offered suggestions. The atmosphere was lovely but we seemed more like a burden than a welcomed guest.
There was a limited menu for a seafood restaurant.
Reservation was at 5:45pm on a Thursday night. Surprisingly it wasn't extremely crowded. Got a table on the screened in patio by the window. Absolutely beautiful view! Good service and great food. A little steep in price but what can you expect from a very nice restaurant on the Harbor?
We hadn't been to the Fish House in a couple of years due to not so stellar food. This visit was a delight! The food scene has recovered very well. We were all quiet pleased with our selections. The service was good but our server was noticeable overworked with too many tables to handle. Probably not her fault. The view over the harbor is unmatched for a Mt Pleasant restaurant. We were there at sunset. Beautiful!
Very good food, terrible service. Very understaffed, not the servers fault. Inexperienced bartender. Not up to par for resort location.
My wife chose this spot for her birthday because of the sunset view... that was the best part of the evening. It took 25 minutes to get seated with a reservation because the matradee was busy taking calls for reservations later in the week despite many people standing in front of him waiting to be sat who already had reservations. After being seated (7pm) we were informed they were already out of grouper (which was what my wife was going to get) so the limited menu was further reduced. Then it took 35 minutes to locate the bottle of wine we ordered. Waiting 35 minutes for a drink is ridiculous. I had to get up twice to find out what was going on. There was no apology or attempt to make things better. The food was marginal at best. Other tables were allowing there kids to run around screaming. There are way to many nice restaurants to chose from in Charleston that would be a much better experience overall.
Excellent location and ambiance. The staff were very nice and patient. I am very glad I used OpenTable to make a reservation. I arrived at the reservation time and was seated immediately. I thought we might have to wait a few minutes since there was a walk-in ahead of us, but as soon as I said reservation, they looked it up and seated us.
Had Easter dinner here. Menu is extremely small. Also had breakfast here, menu was also extremely small, pricey and they were out of some items. $12 for avacado toast with no egg is nuts!
Seated immedialely off of our reservation. Served same. Both had wine (wh & red). Both very good. Pretzel app, Scallops, soft shell crab. All very good. Don't want to forget server Austin. Well done sir.
Can see why getting in during buzy w/e's is tough.
Would def do again. And def recommend.
My husband and I went here for an early dinner over Easter weekend. Chris, the host, was AWESOME. We instantly took a liking to him. He was so upbeat and friendly. He made such a great impression on us. Our server, Alicia, was attentive and very sweet. The food was absolutely delicious as well - the house made pork rinds and pimento cheese dip is now a favorite of mine and my husband’s. We highly recommend this spot! The only problem is that it’s too far away from our home in Atlanta! We’ll just have to come visit again soon!

Excellent view, good food and service was top notch.
Eater dinner . Beautiful setting at sunset on the water. Great service, nice table distancing and great service. The seafood was cooked perfectly .
While nothing was "perfect" it was a perfect evening overall.
Loved the view. Our server was fantastic. Food was great too. Had the shrimp and grits, Caesar salad, and for an appetizer the ahi tuna. Enjoyed the sunset and the food. Would definitely recommend for a nice experience and view.
Limited menu, assuming due to Covid. Started with crab dip. Liked having carrots and celery, was surprised by the cafeteria single packed crackers. Salmon was prepared very well and the faro was delicious. Crab cakes were just ok. Could have used more seasoning. Service was wonderful and attentive. View was spectacular
The wait staff was extremely friendly and added to our dining experience. We were entertaining guests from out of town and the views were appreciated and enjoyed by our guests. Would recommend to friends and family.
Outstanding seafood with creative side dishes. View of the aircraft carrier provided a unique experience. The service was impeccable
We had a memorable experience here. The staff were all friendly and personable and the entrees were fantastic. We recommend the Charleston Harbor Fish House without qualification no reservation.
First time in Charleston and after a crap meal at Hymans we found this wonderful gem. The staff was extremely friendly and our waitress was great! The food was absolutely delicious! It completed a great day at Fort Sumter and Patriots point! The view of the USS Yorktown was a bonus view too!
The Fish House is a great restaurant to check out when all of the restaurants in Charleston are full or you can't get a reservation for a few days (which was our case when we were in Charleston). My husband had the scallops and I had the salmon. Both were delicious. I'm only giving it a 4 star rating because of the limited menu and no steaks. But, because it's a limited menu, they can concentrate on making those dishes outstanding.
Arrived on time for an early reservation. Took approximately 10-15 minutes before being acknowledged. View was very nice and menu had a fair number of good options. Our server was friendly, attentive but not intrusive. I had ordered oysters being told they were bluepoints which are my favorite. The oysters arrived and were definitely Not blue point oysters. As I very much enjoy oysters I had no problem eating them. I did bring it to the attention of the server so she would be aware. The issue was with the manager who clearly overheard me telling my wife the error. He asked “how were the oysters?” I replied “they were very good but just so you know they weren’t blue points “. His response was “No they aren’t “. His tone was accusatory as if it was my error. I informed him that I ordered them based on what I was told they were. He proceeded to throw his team under the bus saying “I didn’t tell the girls that “. This was immediately followed by him answering his cell phone and walking away. I chose to eat them, enjoyed them, and had zero problem paying for them. My issue was the manager’s unprofessional attitude and his being so dismissive. He made no apology for the error, answering his cell phone and walking away. He was also the individual that made no effort to acknowledge us upon arrival to the restaurant. The main courses were very tasty and well prepared. I did believe that you are paying for the view as the cost was inflated. We had numerous excellent meals for much less. The view was definitely not worth paying a premium with so many other quality choices. That with an uninterested manager would lead me to say skip this restaurant and try one of the dozen other quality restaurants.
It was too expensive for quality and quantity of the food. There are so many other options that are equal and better. Being that the restaurant is in a private marina drives up the cost.
Seating, service, by Arynn , and food were all excellent. We have had very good experiences, and not so good experiences, at the Fish House. This one was especially good. That’s why we keep returning.
Friendly and welcoming. ............................
This was our 1st time dining here and will definitely return
A quick lunch w my Daughter wanted a view and a unique place . This was incredible the view as well as the overall food and atmosphere . It was enjoyable
Always a great experience
Great restaurant have to add it to the once a month place to dine..service was great food was excellent
Unfortunately not prepared for the number of people in the restaurant, especially for lunch. Seems understaffed. People were friendly. Food was good.
The views were great and the food was even better. Shannon was an excellent server!
The regular grouper on the menu was not available but they graciously substituted halibut for the grouper. It was truly excellent and a very generous portion. Our waitress Hannah was outstanding! Very interesting to talk with a quite a "renaissance woman", with a diversity of interests. Would definitely go back.
Food was very good. Service was worst we had during our week in Charelaton.
My son and I enjoyed the scallops and crab cakes for his birthday dinner and our server treated us with apple pie with ice cream for dessert! Outstanding!
The restaurant was fairly empty yet the food took a long time to be served. A bit overpriced for the quality.
We shared very generous and very delicious crab cake and shrimp & grits entrees. When we mentioned we wanted to share, they offered to split the dishes for us. The shrimp & grits was extraordinary! Our view by the window was obstructed by a wall that they can’t move but it was nonetheless annoying. Still, we were able to see cargo ships going in and out from the other direction. It was a wonderful experience and we’ll do this again.
Perfect place for a nice dinner. The view is wonderful as is the food and service. Two of the table had grouper and loved it. My wife had fried shrimp and the were very fresh. I had Cesar salad with grilled salmon. Excellent. I was impressed with the portion of salmon perfectly grilled. Our serve was Alison and she was appropriately attentive. Just right.
VERY limited menu and waiter was courteous but not very attentive. View was spectacular but food was just ok.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was good. Theresa our server was great!
Incredible views, good people and great food to be had here. The oysters are served perfectly!
The food was excellent, service was very good. We asked to move our seat because of the noise level was high but our new seats were great.
