Even tho we had reservation..still had to wait additional 20 minutes.
I don’t write reviews but this was so bad I had to alarm others. Stay home.
Wonderful lunch before a doctor’s visit. Highly recommend.
The restaurant was very loud as the bar is in the center of the space. Service was horribly slow and poor. We almost left after being seated for over 10 minutes before we were greeted by a server. Not even water... on a plus side the scallops were very good. This is a nice resort restaurant if your staying there, bring the family or have been fishing or golfing all day but not a go to place for locals seeking a great experience and food. Oh, and pay parking?! Really!!!
We have been to this restaurant many times as the food is always very good, friendly staff and reasonably priced compared to going downtown.
Good food, excellent service
Our server was very nice. She promised an answer to one menu question about a starter, never got the answer, ordered a different starter, never got it. Tone was set at the door. Showed up three minutes early for reservation we made on OT about two weeks earlier. Hostess said she’d be right back. We stood for 10 minutes. We mildly expressed some frustration to the hostess when she eventually returned, a second one chimed in with a terse (to put it politely) response. Restaurant was filled to about half capacity at high noon. Not hard to figure out why. Yikes.
Our server, Jennifer, was very friendly & attentive.
Poor service. Food tasted like a chain restaurant. Nothing special.
Beautiful venue but food was not very well prepared- coming from out of town wanted to be wowed—fell short especially with the price...
Lovely view of the Harbor and the USS Yorktown. Food was very good, I had the salmon and lentils which was great. Others at the table had a vegetarian dish, the fish special, fried shrimp and the burger. Everyone was happy with their choice. Hearing was difficult, we were in the center next to the bar and it was louder than I prefer. Maybe some noise deafening panels?
We had a reservation. After 45 minutes the MOD finally told us that it would be at least 45 more minutes. What a waste of time.
The service was terrible. My husband, son and I were there for almost 2 hours. It took them 45 minutes to realize that they were out of Salmon which is what I ordered. It then took almost another 30 mintues to get me my replacement. My son had eaten and then starting eating again when I got my food. I had to ask 3 different people for a refill of sweet tea.
Very slow service. Seemed disorganized and under staffed. With all the choices in Charleston, you can find better than standard fried foods.
Service was slow from the start, hostesses seemed a bit disorganized. Food was very good, but also slow... Still hot though, not as though it sat waiting for a while. Beautiful view.
Food was fantastic! I had the pan seared scallops and it was delicious. My husband had the fried shrimp which was also very good. The fish dip was good. The service, was not good. The hostess was rude and was clearly arguing with a server in front of us. Our waiter was very slow. He acted as though we were bothering him by even being there. We never got our salads. He never came to check on us. Not once. Didn’t refill drinks - nothing. They must be short staffed because they had about 20 open tables but they were on a 2 hour wait. I would try this restaurant again hoping they just had an off night because the food was great.
Went there for Easter dinner especially because they stated “Join us for our A La Carte Holiday Menu. Dinner will Feature Traditional Holiday Dishes.” Number of traditional holiday dishes, ZERO; standard dinner menu with nothing at all special. We all ended-up ordering just a salad and appetizer or soup; the soup was inedible. The She Crab soup was as thick and appealing looking as wallpaper paste; we found plenty of minced onion in it, but very little of anything that tasted like or resembled crab meat.
The server was nice but slow and uninformed. There are no “Chefs” in or anywhere around the kitchen; just “Fry-cooks”, deep-fry cooks to be specific. The place should be called “Charleston Harbor Deep-Fried Fish House.
Here’s a bit of advice for the restaurant manager, don’t let the kitchen staff pick the music, Bob Marley and the Wailers singing “Ganja Gun” is inappropriate for the dining customers, especial Grandma.
Dress code for this place is anything goes; cut-off jeans, flip-flops, tee shirt, baseball caps turned around backward are all just fine.
All they have is the view, and you can walk outside and have that for free.
This is a tourist trap, plain and simple. Mt. Pleasant, and especially Charleston has hundreds of much, much better restaurants. Stay away from here, save your time and money, go elsewhere. You’ve been warned.
Easter- why wasn’t the rooftop open?
Food was fantastic and our waiter, Hunter, did an amazing job.
The restaurant was very pleasant and the food was very good the view looking out on the Wappoo Creek was excellent which added to the very nice experience.
We ordered “peel and eat shrimp”. The shrimp was mushy and mealy, but the cocktail sauce was sheer perfection...just the right blend and with a good bite of horseradish and lemon! In the land of shrimp, the shrimp should be at least ok, if not outstanding. I try to order what the area’s famous for...not impressed. My daughter loved her clam chowder! My beat salad was yummy. They brought us complimentary hot corn fritters, which were fried to perfection with a crusty deep golden outside, tender inside and a bit of sweetness! A very beautiful restaurant with rooftop bar and gorgeous sunset! Also, a cute gift shop attached.
I enjoyed my experience at the Charleston Harbor Fish House. The atmosphere was really good, liked the decor and the location. The waitress was very accommodating and super friendly. The prices were good for the portion served, although I found the food to be a little bland. I would certainly recommend for dining and I will come back again.
This was the third time we had been there and we probably will not go back. The views are spectacular of the uss yorktown and the place is very pretty but the service is very slow and the prices are high . A split beet salad and two entrees with tip was just under $100 with no alcohol. I had the market special which was very good my husband the shrimp and grits which he called mediocre.
While the place was 3/4 empty it just took forever for anything to come including the check after the credit card was submitted. Each time we have been there something was off or wrong - once no martini glasses for the dry martini it was served in a wine glass .
There are so many other fine restaurants in the area at the same price point
Great views of Charleston Harbor. Unfortunately, service was very slow. The hostess took quite a while to check us in for our reservation. Strangely, they seemed to be short on menus and we sat for a good 10 minutes before getting menus. Our drinks from the bar were delayed and arrived after we ordered our meal. The food was good, but nothing was outstanding. The flavors of everything including she crab soup, fried green tomatoes, fish and crab cakes, was lacking. Each dish needed some pizazz!
We were dining out with no children and wanted something a little nicer than normal without a rigid dress code. The food was great, server was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday here. Heather was our server and she was awesome in every respect. We were able to order a custom meal of crab legs which were perfectly prepared and delicious...
Great view of the Yorktown and the Bridge.
Totally recommend this place and would visit again when next in town...
Best crab cakes. The views of the water were spectacular!
We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times before, but this time was less than expected. We raved about their swordfish preparation from pervious meals here. This time for lunch it was not very good, must be a different chef. The fish was dry and very over grilled, and not seasoned a previous. You now have to take a ticket for parking, and need to have it validated. Our guests were not pleased with the service, it was slow and meals were not as ordered. It is a great restaurant with nice view of the Charleston harbor, but this time not to good.
Excellent food & excellent service. Every time I come here I always receive the very best service. They have a drink called The Meaning of Life, definitely a must try.
We had a delicious meal here. The batter on the fried shrimp and oysters is what makes this dish outstanding! Danielle was such a delight........so welcoming and accommodating! We highly recommend having a meal here!
Their Service was INCREDIBLY SLOW, felt very neglected, inexplicably, and food just ok
Food was good, service was great. Had somewhat of a difficult time finding the restaurant, but once we arrived-it was worth it. The view was great!
Great service and you get free parking
First time and the Fish House is now my favorite in the Mt. Pleasant area. I visit twice a year and look forward to having dinner here. Great food & service.
Food was delicious and waiter was on top of everything ! Nice setting, with harbor and USS Yorktown right out the window!
Very accommodating - I don't eat foods cooked in vegetable oils so they were very receptive to preparing my meal with butter versus conventional oils.
I had a reservation at the fish house March 3rd with 2 of my close friends, my mom and one of her close friends before an event. We made the reservation for 6:30 Which with a hour dining time we would make our event on time. The wait time to get our drinks was almost 20 minutes. 2 ladies ordered wine, 1 of which recieved the wrong wine. The wait for our food to arrive was 40 minutes. Once we ate and finally recieved the bill. Two of the three bills were wrong. The waitress took those away, along with the correct bill and debit card. She then brought back the 2 bills corrected and the one bill that was originally correct came back not charged and no card. The table behind us was given my friends card and their bill was run on her card. ($130), her meal was only $28. When we brought the mess up to the waitress along with the other issues we had that evening, she sent her manager over which gave every excuse possible and scolded us for being rude. Rude NO. Frustrated YES! Not to mention the one glass of wine that was wrong and sent back was still charged to her bill. We understand mess ups happen, you get busy, large groups, short staff. Whatever the case may be but what we experienced was not acceptable. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is actually very good (a little pricey) but service was terrible. We do not plan on going back and have told as many people as we could about our experience.
This restaurant has the potential to be amazing but not with the service we received.
Newer place at an awesome location on the harbor. We were lucky to get a table shortly before sunset and were able to enjoy the beautiful views from there, which included the Yorktown and Ravenel bridge. Our server was attentive, but not overly so, and the food was very good. Not the best seafood restaurant that we have been to, but still a good choice.
We didn't like that you have to pay to park. The food was pricey. That made for a more expensive evening than expected.
Finally a great waiter!
We live close by and have had bad service and inconsistent food. Tonight Hunter was our waiter and he was great.
It was a quiet night and the hostess starting moving tables and chairs by scraping them against the floor so she could close up early. The manager brought wine to a table adjacent to us holding the neck of the bottle.
I'm not sure how Hunter learned the service industry, but he gets it!
