Charleston Harbor Fish House - Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina

It was just ok- overpriced - there are much better restaurants downtown
The food was very good and the wait staff very friendly. Unfortunately we had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation to be seated and then waited one hour and ten minutes for our entrees. Management didn’t seemed to be engaged or care very much about smooth operations. This restaurant used to rate very high from previous experience, but management needs to dial into what is going on and make some adjustments.
The food and view were amazing!!! Apparently, the wait staff was short handed....we were there almost two hours. However, MacKenzie, our server, was amazing!! She kept us up to date and apologized profusely for our wait. Clearly, was not her fault.
Not sure how this can be considered one of the top 10 restaurants in Charleston.
Nothing special about the food. Just average. Much better places to eat in Charleston.
Over priced for the value.
Great food, atmosphere and the service was first rate!
Inappropriate noise and behavior at bar.
My wife and I asked to be moved to another table, but still not something I consider relaxing.
This restaurant offered a perfect seafood selection at the going rate for all items (nothing special in this regard). The service was excellent, as our waitstaff attended to all of our wishes. I think not too many people yet know of this hidden gem, so it felt almost too remote, although it is in the heart of the marina. I will further support the Charleston Harbor Fish House in hopes that more people will give it a try. There is quite a bit of potential to be a standard visit for boaters and land-travelers alike. An added plus is the beautiful view of downtown and the bridge.
We had a splendid evening at the Charleston Harbor Fish House. Our reservation was for 5 pm. The view of the water, Yorktown, and bridge at sunset makes this restaurant the premiere dining option on the harbor. The food and service were both top notch, rivaling any downtown Charleston restaurant without the hassle. The restaurant was not completely full so it was quiet and relaxed. We have been here twice and both experiences were highly favorable. We will be back again.
Visiting from Ohio. Stayed at the Resort next door. Nice atmosphere & food was very good. Had drinks at the bar and the staff was very friendly & helpful. Will stay & eat here again on my next visit to Mount Pleasant.
I felt this restaurant was overpriced. $30 for 2 crab cakes? We won’t be returning.
My husband and I did not enjoy our experience. The service was slow even though it wasn’t busy, menu was limited, and the food was not as good as we hoped. We won’t be back. Very disappointed.
The food was not good. Overpriced and service was subpar
Just a average fish house 5 star prices 2 star service average food Very overrated for Special Christmas Dinner // Nothing Special About It 3 Star @ BEST
This is my go to special dining place when I am I Charleston.
Christmas Day lunch with the Family. Casual and fun place. Everyone enjoyed the menu and our server was great. Will be visiting again!
We selected the Harbor Fish House based on reviews but found something different as we celebrated with family for the holidays. We are new to the area and counted on Open Table to select something that was easy to get to and park for our elderly family members and had good sea food for our visiting family. The atmosphere was drab and the food was diner quality. We could have had the same at a Denny's. Some food was cold the shrimp was soggy and the salad warm. Definitely not worth the money. With all the other choices we will not be returning. What was to be a nice family dinner was very disappointing.
Out of items, cocktail was watered down, rest room located outside.
The Brussels sprouts were amazing!!! the rest of the food was just decent. The views are wonderful!
The food was good but, we considered over priced for what we got. There is much better food for less in the area. Yes, it is waterfront, however, to us quality of food and value is more important than the view.
Everything about this establishment shouts coastal ambiance. It is particularly impressive at sunset. Unfortunately, the food is good, but not outstanding considering the cost.
Great spot on the water. Enjoyed a spectacular sunset from our table. Food was great. The fried oysters & shrimp with grits big hit. Swordfish special was wonderful. Prime Rib delectable. Unfortunately, the service was not good. Our waitress seemed to be having a bad day and it was Thanksgiving. I would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
We went to the Charleston Harbor Fish House for Thanksgiving Dinner. First time we have eaten at the restaurant. We had a 445P Reservation and were seated immediately. The service was attentive. The She Crab Soup was forgettable...I would not order it again and would not recommend it. It tasted as though it was at least a day old...or just not all that good? I ordered the Turkey entree...everything there except mashed potatoes. It was tasty once I added salt and more gravy. We chose not to have coffee or dessert...by that time the room was full and the noise level (cement flooring and open ceiling) was annoying. I was also disappointed in the lack of view. Here is a restaurant on the Charleston Harbor and the seams of the windows fell exactly at eye level blocking the entire view. If you want the view you must sit at the elevated round tables against the back wall. We do not drink alcohol, so the bill for two (two soups, two turkey entrees) with tip was less than $100. This will not be a Thanksgiving Dinner I fondly look back on. Just OK.
We went here for Thanksgiving dinner. Three of us, our table was ready when we arrived. Our waitress greeted us promptly, took our drink order and gave us time to browse the menu. We each got a different dinner, two of us ordered from the special dinner menu, one from the regular menu. All of us were pleased with our dinner. I only gave four stars because the waitress didn't offer a dessert to the one person who ordered from the regular menu. Maybe there wasn't one available, she just explained the desserts that came with the other meals, took the choices and walked away. Yes, we would go again.
Fine establishment! Definitely worth the drive from Seabrook Island. Easy parking, too!
Overall it was good
Husbands steak was nicely prepared. My grouper was over cooked. Certainly wasn’t a $100 dinner experience.
I ordered the raw seafood castle . It was so disappointing! A lot of the shellfish weren’t opened so I couldn’t eat them and the ones that were seem small and dried up. Not all happy with this dish . . Especially for 65$!
My date had surf and turf . Lobster and fillet . He ordered it medium rare and it arrived very well done . We sent it back only to wait and have it borderline raw . Very disappointed in the food
Our server made the birthday celebration for my parents great!
I had a very marginal salad but excellent shrimp and grits. (Not traditional but tasty) my husband had some sort of gelatinous soup and crab cakes that he did not enjoy. Our servers and the staff couldn’t have been nicer and were very attentive . The price was ok.
Went for anniversary dinner on last night of our quick weekend getaway. Service was slow for no apparent reason as the place wasn’t not even half full on a Saturday night at 8pm (that should have been a clue and red flag).
Wife and I split a wedge salad and it was ok. Not as much blue cheese flavor as I’d prefer. Wife had shrimp and grits which she had been looking forward too on the trip. She said hers was ok...nothing special.
I ordered surf and turf medium rare with shrimp. As I said the service was slow and took an unreasonably long time after we finished our salads. My steak came out very rare...not even close to medium rare. Sent it back right away and was brought back out still more rarer than I’d prefer but was hungry and didn’t want to wait any longer. By this time my wife was almost done with hers anyways. Also by this time my shrimp were also on the cold side. The meal came with “smashed potatoes” which was not what I expected to be. These were small potatoes appeared to be deep fried and not mashed like I anticipated. There were about 4-5 of these and 1 was completely burnt to a crisp which should in my opinion should never have been plated (I guess I’ve watched too many episodes of Chopped on Food Network).
I complained to our server and brought the manager out and shared my thoughts and she was apologetic. They offered to re make my meal again but at this point that shipped had sailed. They took my meal off the tab and cooked an Anniversary Desert so they get points for that.
Overall just a disappointing end to the trip.
Great good. Great service. Great view.
This restaurant is in Mt. Pleasant--about 14 minutes from downtown Charleston. The pasta dish with lobster and shrimp was excellent. There were large lobster pieces and whole shrimp with the pasta. It was very good, but we could have shared the dish since we also enjoyed a bowl of she crab soup. We arrived after dark, so did not get to see the harbor view, but everyone said it was pretty earlier in the evening. The restaurant is hard to find, evening using the map. The restaurant is next door to the general store, and one can see that sign.
Overpriced food and service was mediocre at best. I felt like we were bothering the staff at 3:00pm in the afternoon. Only redeeming quality was the Beautiful setting, would not return.
We have eaten here many times and it is usually very good. We had 7 of us for lunch but the food was that great. Batter on fried items was way too salty and I am a salt fanatic. My niece owns 12 Resturaunt’s was one of my guests and it was kind of a bummer. We made advance reservations and they did not have a table set up upon our arrival.
Hope it will be better next time.
Great food and a very nice spot to view the harbor.
Service was terrible! Food was good, i’ve Had better in the Charleston area.
The facility was very nice, with a great view.
Overpriced, very noisy, and small portions. The only obviously stand out was the view of the Yorktown and Ravenel Bridge. However, with the garage doors down the view was so obstructed from the doors structure it was less than stellar.
Our wait person was attentive, as was the chef and bartender. Will return when in that city. Fresh, excellent and casual.
not very good food at a high price.. very disappointed
