It’s our love letter to the original husband-wife owners of The Pearl Hotel who embarked on their journey to create the Sportsman's Lodge in the 1960s. Decades and a name change later, we’re paying homage to the property’s history through this namesake neighborhood eatery.

Full dinner available Tuesday - Saturday featuring fresh, locally sourced and organic ingredients. We're happy to feature seafood straight from the Point Loma docks, delivered fresh daily! Ours is a fully scratch kitchen with each dish crafted to order.

Specialty cocktails using house-made infusions, 100% local beers and carefully curated wines are just a few of our offerings at the bar. But it doesn't stop there, come on in for what has been voted Point Loma's Best Martini.

Well sad to say not a very good dinner. It was our ninth anniversary and we had celebrated our original wedding at the pearl. We rented out the entire hotel and all the rooms and it’s been such a memorable place for us. We’ve come back a few times and it’s been always good but last night was terrible. We barely got service, they came to our table. I think twice I had to go to the bar to get our drinks. It was our anniversary as I mentioned and they didn’t even offer us a free dessert or anything. It was such a letdown. The food was OK. The rice was kind of dry and nothing exciting , the calamari was delicious but everything else was just sort of mediocre. We were so sad and we had took it our kids with us too and they want very happy either and it was a $250 meal so I just expecting a lot more. They did say that they were very short staffed so I felt bad but honestly they could’ve done better.

The idea of this restaurant is great! I booked my Boyfriend and I a date night for their “Dive in Movie” night, which is a movie on the pool deck where you can eat drink and swim while enjoying the show! This is a great idea! It’s the execution that was not the greatest. Towels are for hotel guests only so don’t forget to bring yours from home which is silly given I am attending this event at a hotel with lots of pool towels… the food is mediocre, the crab dip was so salty it was almost inedible and the burger and chicken sandwich were just okay, definitely not worth the price tag. The service was good and the atmosphere was good but overall for the experience I would no go back. This has a lot of potential but just needs better execution.

Haven’t been to “The Pearl” in many years but I’m happy to report that it remained the same “hidden gem” it used to be. Perfect drinks, a small but very nice selection of excellently prepared food and a cozy yet sophisticated ambiance.

The items we came for were either not on the menu or were out of stock. $34 for sword fish with no sides, just a huge piece of fish with a little fennel salad on top. Fish was tough, and raw in parts, fishy. Overall blah. And it used to be our favorite place .

You had me at cool vibes and Al fresco dining by the pool. Service was friendly and food was great. Oysters and French fries. What could be better? Drinks were a treat, too. Dragonfruit Kombucha & other Palm Springs-esque cocktails. Very chic. Recommend for date night or a friend get together. Parking is sparse so get there early. Will be back!

Lo was an awesome server...very attentive, friendly and professional. Food was excellent and the drinks were well poured. My date said it was the best Margarita she's ever had. Kudos to the kitchen and the bar! And the atmosphere and setting is always fun and interesting.

All food was very salty. The burger buns were clearly pre-frozen and saggy. Calamari were hard and overcooked. Service was also poor, they moved us table in the middle of dinner for a party that didn't show up while we were there. The overall quality of the food and service is not worthy the price.

The service was good but the food price was inversely proportioned to the taste of the food. The fries were good. The fish lacked seasoning and was dried out. The seafood pasta dish my wife had tasted like someone put a piece of fish in a piece of pasta and cooked it with little else. zero flavor.

Charles & Dinorah at The Pearl Hotel is such a hidden gem! It's quickly become my go-to date night spot in San Diego. The food menu changes seasonally, which makes each visit so fun and we've never had a bad meal. My bf loves their craft cocktails and I always go for a glass of wine; their glass prices are great! Happy Hour all day Tuesday and Dive-In movie nights are some of my favorite days to go for dinner.

We were celebrating our Anniversary and were treated to champagne and a dessert on the house! Our drinks were great and the presentation of the food was very nice indeed! We do recommend this restaurant but caution there is a problem with parking. Thank You to our waitress /bartender for outstanding service.

We got great service from our server Dale, the ambiance is great, sitting poolside and movies playing in the background. My Martini was pretty good. And all the staff was helpful and friendly. However, the ravioli was undercooked and had hard edges and the halibut encrusted with pistachios was pretty flavorless. So I'll come back, but definitely not ordering those two meals.

First of all, it took about 10 minutes for somebody to greet us, and they had plenty of staff walking around. Second of all, the drinks were only so so. Finally, the food was terrible. We ordered three different things and all of them were bad. Well, I guess the carrots were OK. Not sure I’m gonna go back to this place and don’t feel like I can recommend it. However, I have a friend who loves it, and actually is the one that recommended it to me. Perhaps it was just a bad night… One separate note, our server was great – she was super responsive once we finally got sat down.

Underrated hidden gem of a restaurant in San Diego! Everything our party had was fantastic and service was quick even though it was busy. Fresh oysters from Washington were great and the cocktails were tasty! Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion. Casual but fun midcentury modern vibes!

The NYE pre-fixe and wine pairing was not worth the money. Server was nice no wine was delivered late and no explanation of dishes or wine. Had to go get another meal after. For $280(tax +tip for two)expectations were not met.

So disappointed… Waited 10 minutes for the hostess to show up. It’s a tiny place. Where was she? They finally sat us along side the pool but it was cold and their heater was out of gas (it was 6:30 and should’ve been replaced the day before or before they started dinner). Bartender came out and she changed out the tank and started the heater for us. The waitress came around and took our order for wine and an appetizer. We waited a while and she came by to ask if we wanted to order dinner but we said we wanted to start with the appetizer first. Still nothing. Then she came by again and asked if we were finally ready to order dinner but we said we never got the appetizer, so she went to check on it and admitted that she never even submitted the order so we waited another 20-30 minutes. Finally after an hour we got our first appetizer, a beef tartar which was mediocre at best. Then we ordered another appetizer, sun-chokes, which the server said we’re great. These came shortly thereafter but were just ok, maybe average. We really wanted to like this place as we hadn’t been here since before the Covid lockdowns and heard great things and being from Pt Loma I saw how they took advantage of a Motel 6 type of property and made the most of it but the food was over priced, service was poor (server blamed it on a group of 20 they were serving but we didn’t see any group that large). The place is small. The server waived the appetizers on our bill but that wasn’t really the issue. Try this place with a buyer-beware attitude. Maybe it was just that evening but if it was lower priced we might go back but at these prices for a fairly limited menu, it’s one and done for us. Good luck…

From the prices we thought the food would be good and portions generous. The burrata was an embarrassment and the toast was burned. Oh yeah, and the pool was a tiny little thing. The owners should just stick to drinks and appetizers, the menu is so limited and overpriced.

Very fun and quaint place. My husband’s chicken was superb and my burger was pretty good! The service was good other than the waitress mixed up and forgetting a beer but other than that we really enjoyed it!

Disappointing showing for a normally cool spot. A pair of families had four kids who were unnecessarily loud. Despite the staff asking them multiple times, the families took no action and the ambiance suffered.

My review is mostly based on service that evening, which was a bit slow or neglectful, but it may be due to short-staff & also a movie being shown. The dish I ordered (Seasonal Salad --- feta, mint, cucumber, watermelon, etc) was horribly prepared. The cucumber chunks were absolutely CHUNKS. No way to humanly eat them without cutting them smaller or taking multiple bites out of them. The kitchen staff should prepare this salad better for actual consumption without the guest needing to cut them smaller. This was my gripe, but overall the ambiance and the movie & dinner concept was really nice. In the future, I would order something else to better enjoy the evening & event.

Worst experience at the Pearl in our many years of coming. My drink was served half full, like it had been made full, but spilled before it got to us. Food was bland and tired. Charcuterie cheese still had pieces of foil on it. A group of young adults (maybe 10?) were having a pool party right beside us. I know the dining area is poolside. But this kegger-like party ruined the dining experience. We miss the old menus and food prep.

Maddie was our server. She was very knowledgable and delightful. She's your best server we've experienced at your restaurant. The Salmon was the fish of the day and it was prepared perfectly and sooo fresh. The cauliflower dish was not up to par and was a 1 out of 5 (5 being the highest). Very limited wine list.
