Great service!

This place was amazing! This is the first place I've been where there was not any salt and pepper on the table and I didn't need any . The staff is amazing and the food was even better. If anyone finds theirselves here let me recommend the cheddar jalapeno potatoes as a side dish with the Delmonico ribeye.

Excellent choice for us. Everything from ambience to meal was perfect. A quality fine dining experience.

Always good food and great service

My girlfriend and I went to Char for date night dinner over the weekend and it was absolutely exquisite. We rarely see each other because we live in different states so I wanted to make our time together special. Haley was our server and she was very accommodating to us. We shared oysters, ceviche, and the KC strip. I can’t tell you the last time I had a dinner so wonderful. 100% recommend you try this restaurant for your next night out. It won’t disappoint.

We usually enjoy our dinners at Char. This time, I indicated on my reservation we were celebrating a birthday. When we arrived, we were seated in the bar. The bar area is perfectly fine, except for the table between the waitress stand and the restrooms. Being between stacks of dirty dishes/leftover food and the various smells from the restrooms made for a less than appetizing experience.

Our meal was very delicious, as usual, but we noticed we hadn't received a bread basket. When we inquired about the bread, we were told bar patrons don't usually receive bread. If we had requested to be seated in the bar, I would have understood this, but we didn't. If the restaurant is going to seat individuals making dinner reservations in the bar, they should be treated similarly to those seated in the main dining room.

Going forward, we will be sure to request a table in the main dining room when making reservations so that we don't have this experience again.

Food was great very nice pleasant dinner

No one acknowledged my husband’s birthday even though I called it out in the reservation. We ordered a cocktail prior to our meal. At the same time we ordered our meal, we ordered a glass of wine each and asked for them to be brought with our steaks. It came well after we received our meal. Server rushed us to order dinner as soon as he brought the cocktails, and didn’t take the time to ask if we had any questions on the menu. Waiter only came to our table once after the main course was delivered to check on us. We expect better service from a $250 meal (prior to gratuity) for two people. Actual meal was very tasteful. No restaurant management to be seen.

Always a stellar meal here. The atmosphere is perfect, the wait-staff excellent. Kudos to Hunter who was our server. We were well fed and well taken care of.

However, please bring back the bread pudding!! :)

Slightly over cooked steak, that we indicated was fine , but the waiter had the chef prepared a whole new $70 steak for us to bring home. Overall excellent service in a post COVID environment!!

Best meal we’ve ever had in Springfield. Steaks and seafood were all amazing. The sides were large. And the desserts. Oh, the desserts. Add to that the fabulous service and the entire night was first rate. Thanks, Char!

The food and service is always great and it was also last night! I would come more often, but the prices are a little steep.

A perfect experience for our anniversary. Table space, music and ambiance supported intimate conversations or celebratory outbursts of joy. Our meal was simple and simply divine. Our waiter started the celebration with a complimentary glass of champagne and remained attentive throughout the evening. It's not a meal. It is an experience.

Great as always! We come every couple months for date nights and always have the best food and the best service!

Char's is our "go to" place for fine dining experience, atmosphere and food selections. We are locals and enjoy having a special place where we feel the emphasis is placed on excellent food, service and comfort. Our waiter was absolutely excellent, precise and attentive. The portions are more than adequate. As beef producers we especially come to Char's for their steak choices. I'd recommend it as one of our top three places to dine in Springfield.

Eddie was a fantastic server. Loved his recommendations. Try the Tomahawk ribeye! His entire team was terrific as well.

I had the lamb shank and the dish was amazing, so tender and flavorful. My niece had her usual, filet, and it was cooked to perfection as always. She did try the pumpkin cheesecake tonight and loved it!
Alicia waited on us this time and she was spot on with the service. She was so attentive to our needs without being intrusive to our conversations.

We celebrated our son’s 18th birthday dinner and could not have asked for better service and atmosphere. All the employees had a smile on their face and such positive energy. These days, that is hard to find! The food was so delicious! Our son left with a full stomach and this momma left with smiles! We will definitely be back and let others know.

Keep in mind this is a “high-end”, expensive steak house. A disaster from start to finish. Slow drinks; didn’t know how to make a fairly common request. Ordered 16 oysters on the half-shell; received 14. Had to ask for napkins and silverware. Soup came after the main course and we had to ask about it. Soup, when it came, was so salty it was inedible. Side Lyonnaise potatoes were burned and inedible. Steaks, to their credit, were cooked perfectly, though not terribly flavorful for Delmonicos. $54 bottle of wine was…fine. Said they would comp the appetizers and didn’t. We paid anyway as we just wanted to get out of there. Four of us paid over $300 before tip for this mess of a meal. Will never go back.

Excellent, great service and food was great. Sons birthday and couldn’t have gone better

We were celebrating a birthday and wanted a special experience. The food was fantastic. The filet was perfect. The wine was fabulous. Our server was helpful. We requested patio seating because of COVID. Unfortunately, there was a constant stream of people coming outside to smoke. They were just feet from our table which ruined our experience. When I’m spending $200+ on a meal, I don’t want to inhale secondhand smoke. It would be nice if they had a designated smoking area that is away from tables where people are eating.

Had reservation and was promptly seated. Service was very good. Multiple appetizers and entree were timed and served well.

Fourth time in a row the $130 steak was not cooked right. It has either been too done or not done at all. The only reason we kept trying was so I could get the oysters. Their sister restaurant Flame is even worse. Why can't Springfield have a decent upscale restaurant?

Great service and amazing food.

I took an old family friend and for dinner last night and everything was perfect. The service was spot on, a great mixture of attentiveness and giving us the space to visit.
Oh my goodness and the food was delicious! We split the petite medallions and they were cooked to perfection.
We both definitely will be coming back!
