    Generous lunch portion of redfish, a good value. The accompanying sauce was quite rich which made for a more filling dish than was anticipated. The fried oysters appetizer was also rich with a Cajun corn sauce but very tasty. A nice pre-symphony Sunday lunch we make often.

    I had the scallops. They were crispy outside and like custard inside -- DELICIOUS!! Then we had the apple crisp for dessert, and it was absolutely fantastic. I cannotcwaut to go there again!

    I used to love this place but the food isn’t as great as I remember. My steak was seasoned well but more well done than medium well. Pomme frites came out soggy and under seasoned, spinach over seasoned, mashed potatoes with steak were good. Fried green tomatoes were good, the cornbread dusted redfish could be paired with a better tasting sauce. However, my server was great and the wine was good, so I tipped him well because the food not being all that wasn’t on him. They did remove the fries since we didn’t touch them, and I just did not complain about the other things so as not to look a certain way. Overall if I went back it would only be to sit at the bar if they have one.

    So I frequent here a lot. With & without a reservation, and decided to sit at the bar (which also isn’t unusual) instead of standard dining, & I’ll just say this. Provide your employees either with additional help or a sense of urgency. It seems as tho one person was trying to handle everything ( & she was doing really good at that) while the other was floating around without a care in the world. This was my first time being “unsatisfied”. I usually give this place 5 stars. I’m leaving 3 stars on service because if the teamwork was better, then I’m sure my service would’ve been better & I wouldn’t have to wait so long when I needed things.

    The food was delicious!! I highly recommend the salmon (which I had with a crisp, fresh, delicious house salad)! The pecan pie is THE BOMB!! That pie is SO good!!! My server was perhaps stretched a bit because she was not that available to me and seemed somewhat uninterested. However, the woman (another server) who brought my dessert to me and brought me coffee was SO attentive, pleasant, and interested in my dining experience.

    Great restaurant. The service was great form the minute we stepped inside. From the reception to the wait staff, everyone was happy, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The wine list is very good with options for everyone from type of wine to pricing. The before dinner cocktail were prepared well and delicious. There were 4 of us with different meal options from steak, pasta and seafood and they were all prepared perfect, all very delicious. After the meal there were also lots of dessert options but none of us had any space to spare. Great dining experience.

    The service was great! My husband and I ate at Char for our anniversary brunch. He had the seasonal rack of Elk with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I ordered the quiche which came with a small mixed greens salad w/ balsamic vinaigrette. His was very nicely plated but was a bit underwhelming. Rack was a stretch for the two small ribs and medallions of meat attached. It was delicious though. The potatoes were ok, barely seasoned, but the spinach was amazing!!! I did not enjoy the quiche. It was quite dry and was ok if you ate bites with the salad that came with it. Our server did ask if I’d like something else but I declined as nothing else caught my attention on the lunch/brunch menu. I also ordered a side of sautéed onion Mac n cheese which was tasty but definitely not as good as the creamed spinach. I would love to try the dinner here but it is highly doubtful I will ever be back. The taste just did not justify the pricing. Overall not bad but definitely not my favorite meal I’ve had lately at a “fine dining” establishment.

    The dinner was good. Tasty and the server Allie was excellent. She was attentive and very observant. My shrimp crisp had a soggy bottom but over crisp edges. I don’t eat much. She asked how I like it and when I told her about the taste, she made adjustments and removed from my bill. The crab cakes were so delicious along with the cocktails and pecan pie!!!!!

    Haven’t been back here in some time. Really good food, very good service, but some diners dress inappropriately for this kind of dining, and a few even smell of drug use. We’ve enjoyed many a fine meal here over the years, but the atmosphere has changed. This visit was very nice. We will perhaps give it another try sometime soon.

    We love Char, the food was delicious!! Our server ok, nothing special but ok and there was no reflection on his service regarding our dining experience. The crab cakes and creole grits were awesome. Toasted French Toast was great as well. We enjoyed it all!!!

    CHAR was absolutely one of the best steakhouses that I have visited. I had the Cowboy Ribeye and it was awesome. Also, the creamed spinach was the best. You won’t be disappointed.
