    Creamed spinach, butter peas and cornbread were delish. Sweet tea was very sweet and top tier! The grouper needed more seasoning and the texture was kind of tough and chewy.

    We visited Memphis for a quick getaway for our 22nd wedding anniversary. We wanted a finer dining experience for our anniversary. And I really, really wanted shrimp and grits. However, I have a gluten allergy and also don't eat pork, so it was very hard to find a restaurant that didn't have either Chorizo or bacon. After searching high & low, Charsl's menu seemed perfect!! And we were NOT DISAPPOINTED!! The young lady at the front was patient as we were running a little late, but she still allowed us to keep our reservation. The ambiance was pleasant, and our waitress was AMAZING!! She double-checked all the food I ordered with the kitchen to make sure there was no gluten in it! One of the dishes I could not have, so she suggested the claws instead! I'm actually happy she did!! They were amazing!! My hubby loved his shrimp pasta and my shrimp. My shrimp and grits were top-tier! Our drinks were delicious as well. Chai Manhattan and Smoked old-fashioned . We are from Chicago and have very high standards for dining. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Char. We said we would return to Memphis and we will MOST DEFINITELY come to Char every time we visit!!! Thank you so much for making our visit and anniversary a delightful one!
