   The service was excellent and I enjoyed the ambiance as well. The starters were on par with what one would expect; but the steaks were average and not deserving of their price tag. Overall, it was a pleasant experience despite our slight disappointment with the steaks.

   Had a group in there waiting in lobby for table so loud you couldnt even talk and hear each other. We had reservations and we could not hear them call us for seating.

   It was very nice experience. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about food selections. However, didn’t really enjoy the food much but will definitely return!

    The food was way to little for the price. But we went for dinner theater. I was kind of disappointed. Only 3 characters and there was not a real mystery to solve. So I spent over $200 fo Salmon I didn't eat and bland theater. But the ambiance was great.

    Order the Asian peanut salad and it was good but was missing peanuts which it normally has. Food was average and not as good as it usually is.

    Great food and atmosphere at Char. Service was very good and everything worked like it was supposed to work. Char is a great lunch place. So convenient and having Open Table for making a reservation is very helpful. No wasted time, just time for my wife and I to visit during the middle of the day and have meaningful conversations. I highly recommend Char.

    Service was fantastic. Our glasses were always filled with water. The food was delicious, except mine was a touch cold. The food came out very fast, which seemed to be they trying to hurry us on our way, which I get since brunch is usually pretty busy. Overall a good experience, and we will be back.

    Not the same char as before Covid. No dress code is hell enforced. My server had no idea if they sold bottled water. She also told me they didn’t serve sautéed crab claws right now because they are using a cheap vendor and the crab claws fall apart. Not to mention she was holding a tray of DIRTY plates over my head as she talked.

    LOVE Char but was a little disappointed in the event. The food was not hot and the servings were ridiculously small. Gratuity was already added in to my ticket. I did not like this.

    Sever was great. Drinks were excellent. I ordered an old fashioned. Also ordered an 8 ounce filet. Was not cooked to specification. Chose the $5 add on of shrimp to which I received one shrimp. Server did return to the kitchen and brought back 2 more. Hit or miss with this particular place.

    Good service, good food, good prices, great location. Reservations fill up daily so be sure to book ahead. I'd say it leans more towards dressy than casual dining but I'm sure if you look appropriate for dinner, they don't turn you away. The little fried oysters were crunchy and delicious. Wish it came with a bit more corn. The Ahi Tuna Salad was prepared medium rare which is how I would recommend it. It's a large salad so you will most likely fill up. Veal was a smaller dish but with mouth watering bites of veal and crab lump meat smothered with a béarnaise sauce. Wish we had room for dessert because they looked tempting. I'd say it's been my favourite so far in Jackson.

    I ordered the pecan crusted blackfish: oily and no trace of a pecan anywhere , not stuffed just two pieces of oily greasy fish with pretty tasty but oily crab Garlic Mash potatoes were bland and not hot like the fish Service was great from all staff. However, staff had dirty clothing, menu had food splashed on it and salt and pepper had food residue on them too. Tables so close together that you couldn’t pull either chair out without knocking guest on next table. Seems that the local rich white folks in their city hall suits get a whole different and better standard of seating. This was my 4th and last visit to this failing restaurant that caters to only one group of people. They need to refresh their menu and get an up to date attitude. Don’t judge those guests dressed in casual clothing

    The service was superb. We are from out of town and had never been here before. All three of us ordered different dishes and everything that we were served was excellent. This is a top notch establishment.

    Bad salad, very very loud, Service was good except they brought the wrong check and we had to wait 20 min to get it corrected. Everytime we go it gets louder. Steak was good

    I always have the best meals at Char and tonight was no exception. Our server was Keller and she did a terrific job. The only thing I will say is that they have a cheesecake on the dessert menu that is "gluten-free" but is actually made with a graham cracker crust. When we asked Keller about that, she said "I know, but they say the filling is 'gluten-free'." That doesn't count and could cause a problem for someone with Celiacs Disease. They need to make a tweak to the menu or find a substitute for the traditional graham cracker. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

    Food and service was excellent. This also helps explain why the restaurant had a lot of people dinning in and creating a loud at times atmosphere. If I had to choose between excellent food and very low levels of noise, I would always pick quality food. Char has this part figured out and is a great place for a fun time eating out.

    We have been going to Char for years. The dinner food has been less than stellar the past few times. Steak was undercooked, fish was bland, dessert was ok. Service was excellent. Their lunch food quality is much better.
