   Date night for husband’s birthday. Began with gumbo which was really good. Wedge salad also great. Entrees both wonderful. My husband had the New York Strip, one of the best he has eaten. I had Sea Bass also delicious. We had French press coffee and their pecan pie and ice-cream and it was amazing. Not your grandmas pecan pie. We loved it and would go again. We had a reservation, and were seated and served immediately. Our server Anton was a gem. Very helpful and polite.

   Our server was fantastic We were seated immediately The apps were delicious (sautéed crab claws and fried green tomatoes ) Entree of scallops, chicken, steak all cooked and seasoned Brownies with scoop of ice cream was the perfect way to end the meal Enjoyed our dinner immensely Did I mention our server was the best?!

   Our entrees were less than par, didn’t enjoy them at all. Burger wasn’t seasoned, bun was extremely hard even though we requested it not to be toasted. The chicken biscuit was just OK, not memorable at all. Overall, the food just isn’t that great. We have dined several times hoping for a better experience and have been disappointed each time. We will definitely not patronize again.

   Don't understand how food can be great one time and mediocre the next. I don't know who was cooking on 1.23 but it was not very good. Steak was not cooked properly and my sea bass was just fair. The cut and of fish was poor and the presentation was poor. The gumbo and salad was excellent but that was all. We didn't stay for dessert and discussed if we wanted to come back.

    Went to celebrate a birthday. Waiter was ok, I can’t remember his name , that’s how much of an impression he made. I had the Prime rib sandwich and it had no flavor it was very bland. I did expect more for the type of restaurant Char is. My partner had the Salmon and she loved it.

    This is the second time we have gone here and had issues with our meal. We regulars at this restaurant and have never had a problem before the last two times. It’s disappointing to go.

    This was the worst experience I have ever had at a supposedly nice steakhouse. We waited an hour after ordering our food to be served. And then my steak was ice cold. I sent it back but my other guests did not even though theirs were just slightly warm. When my steak was brought back it was still only barely warm. They had a big a big private party that night and kept apologizing about it. I guess they were not prepared for it and it cost me and my guests to have a terrible time at our own expense of $300+ for 3 people. They gave us one free dessert which was supposed to make up for everything. I won’t ever go here again.

    It took over 20 minutes to deliver a salad to our table. The bread was served raw (under cooked). My wife’s first course arrived cold when it was supposed to be hot. This used to be the best restaurant in Huntsville which is why we came back but we won’t make that mistake again.

    A great night at Char! The service was great. Cassidy was wonderful. The food was very good. Steak frites was ordered by several in our party and were delicious. The seafood carbonara was not the best ever, but okay- a little clumpy. We look forward to our next visit!

    Solid choice for Huntsville. Food was delicious. Wine list had many options. A bit underwhelmed that they did not honor my partner's birthday like most establishments, but we still enjoyed dinner.

    Fifth time dining at Char, not terrible but not good. We were a table for two for dinner and they seated us next to three large parties of 6 to 10 so not the best ambience. Ordered crab claw appetizer and after about 20 min the waiter returned and informed us they were out of crab claws. Understand, but reordering appetizer took another 10 minutes then the entrees arrived. The veal Oscar was way overcooked and tough. And, the crab cake that came with it was the worst crab cake we have tasted at any of the Huntsville restaurants. The New Orleans shrimp was just “OK” but again not up to upscale restaurant standards in terms of flavor. Guess we should have just had steaks but thought we’d try something different. One nice thing the waiter did comp us dessert for my birthday.

    We received a gift certificate from our daughter and could not have picked a better place to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary! Amazing dinner and fantastic service. We didn’t feel rushed to eat our meal. Fabulous menu selections from appetizers (highly recommend the No-Filler Crab Cakes) to dinner entrees (I had the Veal Oscar which was tender and delicious - my husband had the Beefeater and it was excellent). Portions were terrific and we needed a container to take food home. Dessert was out of this world (the House-Made Pecan Pie was scrumptious). Loved our experience and will be happily sharing our wonderful memories with everyone we know.

    Business lunch and it was great! Booth was quiet. Cassidy served us well and was very accommodating, friendly, professional, and spot on! One of the best! Always enjoy Char. My go to place and Happy Hour is great also!

    Waitress was great. It was our first time there and she took great care of us, making sure our experience was everything we wanted. Noise level is a little higher than we would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Overall a very pleasant experience.

    Regarding food, everything was great except for the french fries with the Steak Frites. The fries were room temperature upon arrival. Other food was excellent, including: Onion Rings, Fried Green Tomatoes, Steak Frites, and the pecan pie. We have now tried every red wine by-the-glass on the menu. All are average; none are special. Service was excellent.

    The food and service was great as always. I was a little confused at why I was sat at a table right by the doors of the kitchen when other tables were available the entire night. I would think that would be the last place you would seat people. When I made my reservations I requested a booth and put that I was on a date. I would have thought that even if a booth wasn’t available, being put in a quieter place in the restaurant would have been recognized.
