   Lacking flavor/seasoning. A $72 steak should taste a lot better than it did. It was improperly cooked. Needs more salt and finish basting in butter, garlic, and rosemary. Server made it right but was let down by the food.

   It’s so fun to introduce someone to Char! The gingerbread encrusted lamb lived up to our hype!! ;) Jessica, our server, had great dessert and beverage recommendations.

   We have made Char an annual anniversary stop for us for years. Every single time we come we are impressed with not only the food but the service. We highly recommend and remember to let them know what your celebrating when you book!!

   With a cozy spot near the fireplace, my wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at CHAR. The ribeye and prime rib were grilled to perfection and the sides we shared (twice baked potato au gratin and sautéed wild mushrooms) were wonderful. Iryna was our server and she was delightful, offering suggestions and making sure our needs were met . . . all with a friendly, genuine smile. We splurged with desert and the cheesecake was fabulous! As always, our experience at CHAR was great and the food at Grand View Lodge never disappoints.

   Our reservation was at 6:30. We had great service. Food was amazing. The dining room had two other table of family's. The kids were loud and disruptive and really put a damper on our evening. We tried to wait them out but they were there till after we left. Just disappointing when paying for a high end steakhouse it's disrupted by other guest.

    So nice to return to Char after a brief hiatus! The shrimp cocktail - still delicious - had a fun, unique presentation. The French onion soup is still as flavorful. Main courses, wine, dessert, and service were still stellar! The only thing we missed was the artisan butters - will they return?

    I ordered the prime rib, it was huge and thick almost overwhelming to look at. It was very bland and tasteless. My husband ordered the surf and turf, he felt the same about his food. Our friends ordered fish and they were very pleased.

    Great Family dinner up North. Steaks were amazing. Place was buzzing with energy and diners celebrating early Valentine’s or just a nice night out. Service was amazing. Definitely a must if you are at Grandview.

    This was our first dining experience at Char and we enjoyed it immensely! My husband and I both had the walleye, and it was delicious! Our server was Quinn and he did an excellent job taking care of our table. We will definitely be back!!

    All of the employees were very friendly and the waitress had a great deal of knowledge about each dish. She suggested items that she thought we would like and she was spot on! We had a fabulous dinner!

    First time to this restaurant! It beyond met our expectations. We were celebrating a family birthday and the service, food, and atmosphere was top notch! Highly recommend the Prime Rib and salmon. Our waitress (Jenny) was extremely attentive and really cared about our service and experience here! Will definitely be back!

    We did the special, surf and turf. It was a filet and lobster tail. Outstanding. We ordered wine, and had a chocolate torte dessert. Delicious. Our server made our experience go from good to great. Irena if I recall right. She was knowledgeable on the wines and menu, and was so kind, and we just loved her tentative service.

    Another exemplary dinner at this fine restaurant. The 20 ounce prime rib was as good as it gets, while the French onion soup really began the meal with full flavor. Add a lovely glass of bubbly and how could it be better? Had to decline dessert as I was out of gastronomic space. Will gladly come back.

    We started w Caesar salad which was great. The bread & butter was also delicious. My walleye had hardly any flavor and many bones but the rest of the food was great! We also got delicious chocolate cake & apple pie for dessert. The service was a little slow (my water was empty for some time). The ambiance was great. Unfortunately, there was a VERY loud group talking very inappropriately most of the time we were there but that's not the restaurants fault.
