I got the Birria tacos was better the first time i try them. This time was more burn meat
Fantastic food! Service feedback: removing dirty dishes is more important than filling water glasses. Food dropper guy couldn’t put our hot amazing food on the table without finding someone to clear & then we had to wait for flat ware.
Past these obvious disjointed service inadequacies, we loved the food.
The menus has changed a bit. Bring back the soft tacos and the chicken quesadilla please 😊
Excellent service and delicious food. Would definitely return!
Always enjoy our dinners at Chantico. Haven’t had anything we didn’t like. Have to get the pineapple desert.
After reading the reviews we expected a good southwestern food experience. Turned out to be just average
Service was good up until the time it came to the meal. There was a 30 minute gap. Had to find our waiter and ask what was going on. He explained that when the first meal came out it was cold and he asked them to redo it. He should have come to our table and explained that.
Great food, excellent service...this place never disappoints. Can't wait to go back and try something new.
Very cool ambiance. Food was on point!
Read about Chantico in Phoenix Magazine. First time we went there the parking lot was packed and we were a little intimidated without a reservation and didn’t want to wait. When we went this time we realized there was extra parking in business nearby and it’s very roomy inside and in the beautiful center patio. No problem getting in on an early Saturday night. The Chantaco margarita with a little muddled jalapeño and the Chantaco salad were excellent. My husband had the enchiladas and said they were very good my taco was good as well. We will be back.
Great, unique flavors and food options to try. The charred sweet potatoes out of this world.
Chantico is such a beautiful place to dine out. The vegan food is delicious! Love that they have so many vegan options!
Delicious food and excellent service. The only thing I would change is slightly lower the music volume, as it made conversation slightly difficult, but everything was wonderful aside from that.
Excellent food. Menu is just right and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely a great option for vegans and non vegans. If you’re vegan you must try the nachos !!! Highly recommended if your exhausted with BQ and other Mexican style restaurants.
Went to celebrate our engagement while visiting Phoenix. Server was lovely, and helpful. But other then her, we were sat at a table with dead, moldy flowers, sent one appetizer missing items, one appetizer was totally forgotten, chicken came out cold to the touch, dessert served on a dirty dish… felt like we were on some prank show. I realize COVID has made things complicated in a way most can’t imagine, but this was too much.
Server felt terrible and did her best to redeem the restaurant, but for this level of dining, I wouldn’t visit again until they get there kitchen/support staff figured out.
They have great potential if they do!
Noise level was our decision as we chose to eat outside. Won’t do that again, too much noise on Camelback . Good was excellent. Service was good, I think currently restaurants are struggling wirh not enough help.
We will definitely go again.
My friend and I decided to dine at Chantico on the last night of AZ Restaurant Week for fall of 2021. We were seated at a table promptly but wanted to watch a football game. The staff quickly and generously changed our seating so we could watch the TV in the bar area. We looked at the Restaurant Week menu but decided to order a la cart. My chicken came out cold so the server had another cooked properly. The wine list was very nice and both I and my date had a wonderful Carmenere. The servers were very friendly. Only comment is that the server said if one of us ordered from the Restaurant Week fixed price menu both of us had to do that option. I thought that was rather restrictive. In the end it didn't matter as we ordered separate dishes right from the standard dinner menu.
The food was fantastic and so was the service. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
went for restaurant week menu. the portions are very large and lots of interesting dishes. the service was very good. would definitely go back.
Jake our waiter was exceptional. Jake described in detail how the entrees we selected were prepared. He is very knowledgeable and asset to your restaurant.
The sweet potato-coconut soup, mesquite grilled Achiote chicken, and roasted pork ribs were delicious. The choco flan and tres leches cakes were outstanding.
The $44 Restaurant Week menu was very well priced with very large portions.
Somewhat upscale, but very authentic Mexican dishes with the right amount of spice. Complex flavoring that is not overpowered by the wonderful variety of chilis.
The environment was gorgeous. Beautiful restaurant. The food was not as good as the reviews said. Maybe it was just this day that things were off. Our waitress was not as welcoming or available as we would have liked.
Pretty good food- pozole was my favorite, I did enjoy the pork shank, my husband was dissapointed in the cochinita pibil. Not so good service- our water cups went dry a couple of times and waitress was never anywhere to be found. The ambiance was nice!
We were excited to try this restaurant for the first time during restaurant week. Service was great, but (most of) the food and cocktails were sub-par.
Our first time there, the food was great and service was great. Will visit again.
Arizona Fall Meal was fabulous. Delicious and plentiful. We had the charred sweet potatoes, short ribs, and cochinita pibil, and 2 mezcal cocktails. Had to take our dessert (flan) to go. Highly recommend Chantico!
Enjoyed a delicious meal and cocktails during restaurant week! The portion sizes were generous and the flavors were incredible. We had such a great evening, we will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful meal at Chantico last week. They have a menu that features a unique southwestern cuisine. The portions are huge.
We ordered off the pre-fixe menu and were treated with a dessert we otherize would typically not order.
The service was absolutely terrible. We waited over 30 minutes for drinks. When we complained they rushed to take our dinner order, brought the appetizers and then immediately brought the main courses - literally 10 minutes later. They sent the main courses back and then brought them out again, the same ones, old and cold. They need rondo a lot of work with the wait staff, servers, managers and bar tenders. We do not expect to go back any time soon.
Great food at brunch and happy hour and great cocktails!
The food here is AMAZING and you get large portions. It tastes like authentic Mexican food and I know because I am Mexican. My only complaint is that, it did take a long time to get our food. But other than that, we loved it and we will be coming back.
Innovative Mexican cuisine. Be prepared for very large portions. Delicious
Booked for a business dinner last minute based on the recommendation of a coworker. Wanted an upscale Mexican dinner like one would have in Mexico City. Chantico was perfect. We had starters and mains with a bonus taco each. My dining companion was from Canada and had not had fine Mexican food before and commented many times over dinner and even mentioned the next day how much she enjoyed the meal.
This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the valley! The food is always incredible and original, the ambience is gorgeous and sleek and the service is always great! Absolutely recommend Chantico to anyone looking for a go-to restaurant.
I dined on 9/19/2021 for my girlfriends 31st birthday. The food was exceptional and our waitress was great. The only negative on the night was the hostess working that evening. She was very rude and lacked great customer service. This initially “killed the vibe” but we shrugged it off. Shortly after being sat (near the wait staff station) the same hostess said aloud “f*ck everyone I’m f*cking leaving”. She didn’t leave but was clearly overwhelmed and inappropriately voiced her frustration just paces away from our table. The wait staff seemed to be short staffed and busy although the restaurant was no where near full. Despite the hostesses attitude and inappropriate behavior the food was incredible, the restaurant was clean and beautiful, and the amount of food we got (3 courses each for AZ Restaurant Week) was more than enough! Would definitely come back.
Food was good but service very slow. It was a busy Saturday night during restaurant week...
First of all, I have to preface this by saying we went during AZ Restaurant Week which is always a challenge. People who seldom eat out suddenly decide to go out, and the restaurants are overcrowded with people with unrealistic expectations. That being said, this was my 3rd time at Chantico and while I really enjoy the food and the atmosphere, our service was not good this time. Our waiter was trying to service too many tables and we suffered as a result. I won't take this single incident to be indicative of the usual experience here though. Our group enjoyed our food and conversation.
Enjoyed our food, service and drinks! Adventurous menu that won’t disappoint.
Just great all around.....went there for Restaurant Week and will surely return
