This restaurant is elegant with a great atmosphere. The service is excellent and the food is magnificent. The waiter helped us pair our food and wine choices. We were not rushed but the night had a good flow. I heard such good things about Chanterelle and it did not disappoint.

If you want DELICOUS food and PHENOMENAL service you should definitely go to Chanterelle! And they have a wonderful wine list too. Four of us went to celebrate my birthday and it was fantastic - so special and every course was incredible. Can't wait for another birthday!!!

Dan, our server, made our night even more elevated with a comprehensive knowledge of the dishes, wine list and cocktail menu, allowing us to try things we may not otherwise have done. An excellent experience!

What an extraordinary dinner! We celebrated my mother in laws 90th birthday and everything was perfect especially the food. We met the chef after dinner-she’s amazing. You must order the soufflé!

Food was okay. I had the seared Tuna rare and I think not as fresh as it should have been. Metallic after taste, with effort to cut through it. My friend had the special a cod dish. It was very tasty, very small portion overpriced.

We had a fabulous dinner Birthday last night! The service and ambience were perfect. We started with the flavorful Mediterranean soup and salmon carpaccio. I had the Lobster Cardinale which was the best dish I have ever had in my life. Wow! The flavors and generous portions of lobster and scallops were outstanding. It is one of their signature dishes. My boyfriend didn’t like the filet mignon. We split the grand mariner soufflé which was presented and served beautifully at our table. Worth every Penny for a special occasion.

This was our first time here and it was the best food we have ever experienced. The Goat cheese ravioli was. Outstanding. The nut crumb cod was delicious. Perfect portions. The staff was PERFECT and each one is the way service should be - elegant but informative. We will be back.

Dined here as a party of three for my mothers birthday during Newport Restaurant week. The food was incredible with complex flavors and beautiful presentation. Great restaurant! The service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable about wine and gave us a recommendation for a bottle that worked for both meals. My only complaint is that we had a reservation but we still had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated.

We come here once a year usually during restaurant week. Very lovely experience every time. Our meals were expertly prepared and very delicious. Great place if you want to get a little dressed up and treat yourself and your spouse to a fancy dinner out.

Dined at Chanterelle during Newport Restaurant Week. As regular patrons my wife and I can confidently say the cuisine, service, and ambience were all as superb as they usually are. Chef Jessica included many of Chanterelle's wonderful signature dishes on the menu, with the goat cheese ravioli incorporating a mango chutney being a particular standout as a first course. As always the service led by Dan, our Captain, was warm, welcoming and perfectly on point. After another wonderful evening we left as we always do looking forward to our next visit.

Went with a friend during restaurant week. Chanterelle was very busy and I believe the kitchen was rushing dishes that had a pastry crust as the crust on my pork was doughy. Very disappointing. Appetizer was good as was the souffle. My friend enjoyed her duck entree. Overall, the kitchen is missing Albert's touch. I'll try the restaurant again.

Seated right away for a 7:45 reservation during restaurant week (dining room was full). Waited 30 minutes for wine to arrive and order to be taken, but after that all went smoothly. Dan, our Table Captain, was attentive without being obtrusive, and was very knowledgeable about the menu items and the extensive wine list. His recommendation for a 2020 Châteauneuf du Pâpe was outstanding! Each of us had a different appetizer and main course, and all were fabulous. The mushroom vol-au-vent was acknowledged as best both aesthetically and flavor-wise. The entrees (duck a l'orange, beef filet, cod, seared tuna) were all regular size despite restaurant week prices, and were delicious. The Grand Mariner soufflé for dessert was a wonderful finish to a great meal. chanterelle is truly a dining, not just an "eating out", experience!

Chanterelle, formerly Bouchard, has kept the charm and fabulous dining experience it earned its reputation on. One of the quieter, more formal dining locations in Newport (dress code) does not disappoint. Seasoned staff is notable in their menu knowledge, drink and wine expertise and overall professional, yet welcoming presence. We have been here many times but this time dined during restaurant week where they offered a special menu with 6 first course and 6 entree selections (extra for Dover Sole and Lobster Gratin). They had 3 dessert choices including their Grand Marnie Soufflé which does not disappoint. Overall a wonderful evening at a special place! Restaurant week a great time to try this gem but dining any time of year is just wonderful!
