The Chandler Steakhouse - MGM Springfield
Exceeded expectations. Service top shelf. Enjoyed our meals. We will go again.
Terrible experience. Was sat, asked what type of water we wanted. Server came back about 5 minutes later, then no one for about 10 minutes. Another server approached the table, saying she was working with the other server on the table. Asked us for a drink order. I ordered Wild Turkey, which is on the drink menu. She said she'd "check if we have that".?? My wife, sending this would take a while, put in our food order as well. Then, we literlly did not see anyone for 25 minutes. Neither server. Not even drinks. Said we would have bread, nothing. We finally walked out. Anemic response from the manager on the way out, to "take care of our drinks". Place looks nice but service wise is a disaster. Can't comment on food as we didn't get that far.
It's a throw back to time times of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis...old school Vegas style.
Wait staff was attentive and on point. Every need was seen to. I forgot my reading glasses and was quickly accommodated
The food was pricey as expected.
I enjoyed the 1/2 grilled lobster and friends delighted in a sole and rib eye.
Our sides dishes, creamed spinach with garganzola cheese, mac n cheese with truffle (yummy) and wedge salad .
I'd recommend this place for a special occasion or date.
Excellent food and service! A bit on the expensive side.
SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. I HAD THE TOMAHAWK STEAK. IT CAME OUT EXACTLY AS ORDERED. I WOULD HAVE IT AGAIN.
A bit pricy but fun for a once in a while visit. The service is above and beyond.
The restaurant is pretty but dated. Lots of plush red velvet banquets. The service is excellent. We were very well looked after. We were seated in a very nice quiet private booth. We ordered the prime rib and were told that you couldn't have it well done because it would be too tough. They cut your selection at the table. Beautiful presentation. The problem is that my husband's cut was pretty much raw. It's hard to believe that this piece of meat spent eight hours in the oven but that's what they claim. Anyway, I would NOT order the prime rib. I had the sole and it was very good. We also had a nice desert with chocolate and caramel. I would say that if you're at the MGM Springfield Chandler is pretty much your only option.
Excellent place to impress a date
Our reservation was easily made, including a request for a particular seat within the restaurant. They had our favorite wine, Stag’s Leap Artemis. The food was prepared well and the level of attentiveness of the server was perfect.
Staff is incredible which matches the food quality taste and value
Wow previewed new items. Great!
Best meal yet st new MGM
Excellent meal, very expensive for this market. Didnt even order a bottle of wine (2 cocktails 2 glasses of wine for my wife and I) and the bill was over $300 + with tip
The place is hyped up to be the best in Springfield . It's not we ordered med and it came out well done . We mentioned something to the waiter and we got s look. Listen I don't mind spending top dollar for a meal . But what we got was something from a Sizzler. MGM needs to look at their food options. The noodle place is excellent so is the Lobster place. But Chandler is terrible.
The service and food was excellent-better than I had anticipated. Well done!
Although the steaks tasted good , it was very overpriced for what you got. For that price you should at least get a side or a salad. The chicken, which was more reasonably priced, was a very small portion and some members of our party left feeling hungry still after ordering that. It was a nice place for a special occasion, but we won’t go back.
Food was excellent and so was service but prices were way over the top, example entree of veal parmesan was 54 dollars without any sides, sides were extra money.
Vegetables where not fully cooked. Steak was not good at all. Had the Ribeye. Martini served semi warm. Beer as well
The dishes, atmosphere, & knowledgeable staff were great. The most disappointing part of the experience was how long everything took to come out of the kitchen, what should’ve been a great meal with great service turned into a 3 hour dinner just to get starters, entrees, & the table-side dessert to the table of 8. However, the food & quality staff still place the restaurant at an above average level.
They charged for an iced tea refill that was 75% ice in a very small glass. Portions are small. Food was Ok. Bread was the best thing there. Waited 40 minutes with a reservation while 5 tables without were sat at the bar area. They never gave us the option even when I mentioned it. $45 for a prime rib the size of the palm of my hand that was soso and when I took leftovers home they dumped everything into one cardboard box including scalloped potatoes and ruined what was left of my dinner. Would have rather went to Tap Sports Bar. Wouldn't go back to Chandler. It's no Bobby Flay's.
Two of us each ordered a Prime NY strip. Both had no flavor and weren’t cooked to our requested temperatures. Sides came out after many of our meals were done. Then waitress could not be found for over thirty minutes. If you’re a steakhouse, I expect steaks to be cooked perfectly and have some flavor. Will NEVER go back.
It’s was phenomenal!
Food was excellent as was service and attention to detail. Side dishes are extra $$. Bread (“homemade everyday”) nothing to write home about. Expect Dinner for two with tip $200.00
Chandler is one of my new favorite restaurants! The food, service, wine list, the staff and the ambiance are all wonderful!
The service was very slow. Our server, Amber, was excellent. She simply had too many tables (over 14) which is just not what you expect in a high end restaurant like this. The food was fantastic. One in our party had the Salmon. It was cooked perfectly. All the steaks were prepared exactly as orderd, save one that was requested well done. It was more medium, which is forgivable given the thickness of the steak and personally you should never cook a steak of that quality to well done anyway! Good variety of cocktails and wine.
The meal here was middling at best. The place is overpriced, and more than a bit pretentious as a $1900 bottle of wine suggests. The food was average. I had the strip steak which was tough and served on a plate with a roasted head of garlic. Nothing else for over $40. I ordered a side of creamed spinach for $10. It wasn't special, especially at that price. My partner ordered 2 appetizers, oysters Rockefeller, which were tasteless; and roasted bone marrow which at $21 were disappointing. The atmosphere was typical casino steakhouse and the server was efficient and attentive. I've been to many steakhouses, some in Springfield, and a few in casinos. Of the 2 that I have experienced in Springfield alone, this one ranks last.
This was my first time at The Chandler Steakhouse and i loved the food. The slow roasted prime rib was delicious and cooked to perfection with a side of potato au gratin. Also had the table side Caesar salad for two and that was also delicious. The popovers were amazing. I’m definitely going back.
Food was good, not great. There was a restaurant week menu that was not clearly explained. The petite “all day slow cooked” prime rib did not have much flavor. Soup and sides were better. Scallops were very good but playing items also not described accurately. Pretty place and staff very pleasant
Horrible experience. Everything seemed too salty. The chef is trying too hard to be top of the line instead of quality first.
The au gratin for example should be a comfort food, creamy dish. Not sure what cheese you used and the spices (allspice??) But it was really bad. When the bread was stale.
Not enough menu choices .
Our (wife) experience at the Chandler was wonderful. We had a 5pm reservation Wednesday evening and our table was ready when we arrived. There was lots of temptation on the menu but my wife chose the chicken and I ordered the prime rib. I got a GREAT wedge to start, delightful presentation, split in four small wedges that were just perfect. Loved the oversized bacon cubes and just the right soaking of blue cheese dressing. With our mains we ordered two side, creamed spinach and roasted carrots. My prime rib was an end cut cooked to perfection-spot on medium served with the best horseradish dressing (on the side) and au ju (on the side). Wife raved about her chicken but skipped dessert to head to the casino to win. I had dessert that was layers of love, butterscotch pudding assemblage with the layers defined with sea salt and all topped with whipped cream. Regular coffee was a ten, piping hot-just the right amount of robust for me. Outstanding meal.
We had a wonderful dining experience. The food, service and seating was beyond exceptional. It was a fine dining experience that we have not experienced for quite some time.
Food was amazing. A little pricy thou. Only problem not a good vegetarian choice Only 1 entree Won’t come back for myself. Only if others would like too
Great!! Servers were informative and polite!!
Far and away the best Restaurant in or around Springfield. As good or better than the Best Steakhouses in Boston. Just expect to pay Boston prices.
My husband & I had dinner for his bday...The service was not the best our drinks & appetizers took a while to come out...Our server was not as attentive as we've experienced at other 5 star restaurants...The food was delicious...Overall we enjoyed the ambiance not sure if we'll revisit again?!
The service was excellent! Theresa and Justin (I really hope that's his name lol) were very attentive, patient, and a pleasure to talk to. The dinner was excellent. My boyfriend's steak was cooked perfectly. We were mainly there for his steak. They did not disappoint. Dessert is my favorite meal and the Bananas Foster was excellent!
Always wonderful! The food is fantastic. The service is great!
OUTSTANDING dining experience
i would recommend this to anyone.
The filet mignon was very good and cooked to perfection (though don't add Oscar, not worth $22 and you would rather the side sauces). The potato au gratin and the candied carrots were very good (enough for 4 people). The Caesar salad was worth trying. Wine was reasonably priced and good (Barbera). We shared a key lime pie for dessert which was perfect for 2 and very good. Service was exceptional. I will return.
