Chandlers Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food, our server (sorry I can’t remember her name) was outstanding. She was attentive, but never so much as to impose upon us. The atmosphere is a little “uppity “ for my liking but overall, the experience was very good. Again, food was excellent.
My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary at Chandlers on Saturday evening. Our server, Cynthia, was great--friendly, attentive, and helpful without being at all intrusive. I had viewed the menu online before our dinner and had in mind what I wanted, but Cynthia guided me to a better choice. The food was as excellent as the service, and we also enjoyed a complementary chocolate souffle for dessert...yum!
Both my husband and I ordered steaks this visit, but we want to return and try the swordfish and sole.
Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday; they are both on the same day! We splurged and had a very excellent Burgundy, a couple of appetizers, salads, the main course, and a dessert. The service was outstanding. Kudos to our waiter for his thoughtfulness of making a dessert (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and just a smidgen of whipped cream with a lit candle) suited for a person with sugar issues. The wine steward also went out of his way to facilitate our Burgundy choice after he discovered that our initial selecton was not available. This was our first time to Chandlers and we came away very impressed.
I only have two complaints. The tables are a little too close together, and it was hard to talk due to the noise level. The main problem was that there were three screaming, crying, fussing babies very near our table. This was a special occasion, and it pretty much ruined our evening. I don't know why people would bring an infant or toddler to a nice restaurant like that. If I had wanted to deal with an atmosphere like that, I would have gone to Texas Roadhouse. I think that if it is becoming commonplace to bring small, screaming children to places that are considered fine dining, that you should have separate seating areas for family groups.
We come to Chandlers about every other month. We love everything about it and it’s our favorite Boise venue.
We had left overs as usual and requested they be boxed up. The following night we prepared to make a meal out of them only to discover some veggies and rolls were missing. We were disappointed.
I love Chandler's Steakhouse - the food and service is fantastic! We frequently head to this local steakhouse for special celebrations. The staff is so knowledgeable and attentive, even when it's very busy. As an example, on Saturday night, I ordered a glass of wine at the bar. When our table was ready, I left it behind since I wasn't enjoying it. Our bartender, Kevin, sought me out to ask if he could get me something else. That's service! Thanks, Chandler's, for going the extra mile and making our visit wonderful, always.
Chandler's is THE BEST! We always have an amazing experience, whether it's just drinks and appetizers in the bar or a full meal!! Valet parking is easy and the food and service are impeccable. The music is a very enjoyable addition to an already lovely evening.
This was one of the very best restaurants that I ever been to - The service and food was outstanding. The atmosphere was great - the noise level was such that you could actually have a conversation with your partner. My son is coming for the holidays and I want to treat him to the wonderful experience of dining there.
Our visit to Chandlers was amazing. We were seated on time from our reservation and immediately met our server Luke, he was awesome! He went over the menu and also answered all our questions about the restaurant. For the food, we had the filet and a Kansas strip. We wanted the filet to be cooked black and blue. The chef did a spectacular job meeting that request. The Kansas strip was rare and perfect. Both steaks were delicious. The mixed drinks were prepared with class and were very good. We also had the chocolate soufflé and it was completely worth the wait. The only thing that I would say bummed us out was the live music. It was too loud for us to have a conversation without straining to speak and be heard. When we brought it to Luke's attention he did have the band turn it down. Overall this experience was a 9 out of 10. We will be back!
We brought out of town guests for Dinner at Chandlers and they were duly impressed. Our meals were delicious, the service was attentive but not obtrusive. We would definitely recommend Chandlers for that special dinner. You pay for the quality and experience.
This was a wonderful restaurant for my partner and I to visit after a show at Boise Contemporary Theater. The food was amazing (scallops were holy-cow good), drinks were fantastic, and our server was outstanding. We were celebrating our third anniversary and it was a bit of a last-minute decision since our previous plans were rained out. It ended up being incredibly fun to have some great food and drinks, share a cozy booth, and enjoy the live music.
We had a group of 4 in attendance for a birthday. The table next to us had a big group and were very loud and inappropriate. The food was not up to what I thought it should be for the price. I believe if you are spending 50 dollars on a steak your portions should be better. I wouldn’t go back or recommend to anyone. The service was awesome. Our server was very accommodating and knowledgeable.
Not our best experience at Chandler’s. The food was great as usual but our waiter was rude, sarcastic, and didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. We ordered right away but it took forever to get water or bread. The waiter asked to take our drink order prior to providing us with a drink menu, as he said none were available at the time. My girlfriend had to order without a menu and big surprise, when the check came we were charged top shelf alcohol prices without even being given any options. The icing on the cake was that our bill was one amount and then when he gave it back to me to sign, my card was run for a different (higher) amount. I think next time we will give Ruth Chris our business.
Firstly, the service was exceptional. The fare however, while reasonably good, was uninspired, boring... sounding great on the menu but with mediocre presentation and average taste. The ahi was nearly tasteless and would have been forgettable if not for the wasabi mashed potatoes that it is plated on top of... uninspired. The bouillabaisse was very good. It however was accompanied by some kind of bread sporting a tasteless spread. The beef carpaccio was quite good. I can say that. The bone marrow flan, sounding rich and savory, was diluted of taste by what I believe was a cream mixture. Oh. And atmosphere? Ok. But ruined by the tables of people in t shirts, jeans and baseball caps. Just not the place for that. And an affront to everyone paying top dollar for the experience. Over all a bit of a disappointment.
Food and service were great. Piano was so loud that the waiter could not hear my order the first time, then ordered the wrong thing because he could not hear me. We couldn't hold a conversation because the 2 of us could not hear each other at the table. Would be great for an evening with boisterous friends... not for private/cozy conversations.
Chandlers is one of Boise's few restaurants that can boast a cosmopolitan vibe. Walking in, I feel like I'm in a Chicago or New York City steakhouse. The bar is vibrant with color and lights and live music. The food is inventive without appearing to try too hard. You might walk into this place in formal dress or in jeans and a sweater, and feel equally comfortable.
Chandler's never disappoints. We all took advantage of the Dine Out Boise prix-fix menu but all had different entrees. Every entree was cooked to perfection. Our only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that we had blue cheese dressing on our wedge salads. The dressing was not great--not much blue cheese taste. The desserts were also wonderful. The service is the best in Boise. A well trained staff makes all the difference when going out to a nice dinner. Can hardly wait to return.
