Chandlers Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Our visit to Chandlers was amazing. We were seated on time from our reservation and immediately met our server Luke, he was awesome! He went over the menu and also answered all our questions about the restaurant. For the food, we had the filet and a Kansas strip. We wanted the filet to be cooked black and blue. The chef did a spectacular job meeting that request. The Kansas strip was rare and perfect. Both steaks were delicious. The mixed drinks were prepared with class and were very good. We also had the chocolate soufflé and it was completely worth the wait. The only thing that I would say bummed us out was the live music. It was too loud for us to have a conversation without straining to speak and be heard. When we brought it to Luke's attention he did have the band turn it down. Overall this experience was a 9 out of 10. We will be back!
We brought out of town guests for Dinner at Chandlers and they were duly impressed. Our meals were delicious, the service was attentive but not obtrusive. We would definitely recommend Chandlers for that special dinner. You pay for the quality and experience.
We had a group of 4 in attendance for a birthday. The table next to us had a big group and were very loud and inappropriate. The food was not up to what I thought it should be for the price. I believe if you are spending 50 dollars on a steak your portions should be better. I wouldn’t go back or recommend to anyone. The service was awesome. Our server was very accommodating and knowledgeable.
Not our best experience at Chandler’s. The food was great as usual but our waiter was rude, sarcastic, and didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. We ordered right away but it took forever to get water or bread. The waiter asked to take our drink order prior to providing us with a drink menu, as he said none were available at the time. My girlfriend had to order without a menu and big surprise, when the check came we were charged top shelf alcohol prices without even being given any options. The icing on the cake was that our bill was one amount and then when he gave it back to me to sign, my card was run for a different (higher) amount. I think next time we will give Ruth Chris our business.
Firstly, the service was exceptional. The fare however, while reasonably good, was uninspired, boring... sounding great on the menu but with mediocre presentation and average taste. The ahi was nearly tasteless and would have been forgettable if not for the wasabi mashed potatoes that it is plated on top of... uninspired. The bouillabaisse was very good. It however was accompanied by some kind of bread sporting a tasteless spread. The beef carpaccio was quite good. I can say that. The bone marrow flan, sounding rich and savory, was diluted of taste by what I believe was a cream mixture. Oh. And atmosphere? Ok. But ruined by the tables of people in t shirts, jeans and baseball caps. Just not the place for that. And an affront to everyone paying top dollar for the experience. Over all a bit of a disappointment.
Food and service were great. Piano was so loud that the waiter could not hear my order the first time, then ordered the wrong thing because he could not hear me. We couldn't hold a conversation because the 2 of us could not hear each other at the table. Would be great for an evening with boisterous friends... not for private/cozy conversations.
Chandlers is one of Boise's few restaurants that can boast a cosmopolitan vibe. Walking in, I feel like I'm in a Chicago or New York City steakhouse. The bar is vibrant with color and lights and live music. The food is inventive without appearing to try too hard. You might walk into this place in formal dress or in jeans and a sweater, and feel equally comfortable.
Chandler's never disappoints. We all took advantage of the Dine Out Boise prix-fix menu but all had different entrees. Every entree was cooked to perfection. Our only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that we had blue cheese dressing on our wedge salads. The dressing was not great--not much blue cheese taste. The desserts were also wonderful. The service is the best in Boise. A well trained staff makes all the difference when going out to a nice dinner. Can hardly wait to return.
Chose Chandler's to mark our 27th wedding anniversary. This was our first experience of Chandler's. My wife and I were seated directly behind the music duo and I was very surprised that our conversation was not over-powered in the least by the live music. Sean was our server and took the time to walk us through the entire menu and answer our questions. My wife decided to take his suggestions and was very pleased with her meal. I was also very pleased with the meal I ordered. Portions were more than plentiful as evidenced by neither my wife or I being able to finish what we ordered. Since I made reservations and noted it was a special occasion, we were treated to a delicious chocolate soufflé for desert. My sincere thanks for helping create a memorable evening.
Very nice romantic evening out with my husband. Delicious food, a piano player playing in the background, nice atmosphere, great service. Nothing more to ask for. Superb! To top it off, valet service at the door. A great restaurant in downtown Boise, we are lucky to have.
The food was outstanding along with the entire dining experience. It is very expensive but well worth it. My husband thought he would have left overs because of the large steak he ordered. He ate it all. I had enough left over for a very delicious lunch for both of us. It is a must for a special occasion.
My husband and I began our date night with a cocktail in Chandler's bar, served by a lovely young women whose name I can't now recall. The expediency and professionalism of her service was spot on. We only had time for one quick cocktail before our play at Boise Contemporary Theater was to begin.
Our plan was to return to Chandler's for a post theater dinner which I had reserved on Open Table for my husband's well deserved " Date Night"
We had reason to be very excited. We've enjoyed Chandler's in the past for celebrations and special dates.
I can't say enough about the service at Chandlers last night. I especially want to thank Dallas for his attentive attention.
The food at Chandler's is ALWAYS top notch!
We always appreciate the help we get in selecting our wines.
The music lovely !
The ambiance cannot be found anywhere else in Boise.
All was perfect!
... until an issue ensued. A really simple issue NOT OF MY MAKING; one which should and could have been resolved with no drama but wasn't!
Honestly and Frankly, without reservation I recommend Chandler's !
Personally, I will miss this lovely restaurant experience in the future!
Trey, our wait person, made our anniversary very special. He is such a professional, an attribute that is lacking in most restaurants these days. We are so grateful Chandlers has high standards in all aspects of fine dining. My husband has been in food service for 30 years and certainly has high expectations. As a former VP of Purchasing and Distribution for several major restaurant chains and consultant for small, emerging restaurants, he is well aware of quality food and service.
Only suggestion, get rid of that plant in the corner. The wait staff really do struggle to get around it while serving. Come up with a better solution. Happy wait staff, happier customers.
The food was delicious. Delmonico filet so tender and flavorful; tastier than the Cowboy rib eye. Caesar dressing very tasty. Gazpacho perfect. Creamed spinach quite garlicky. Baked potato a bit underdone. Passion fruit sorbet extremely tart. Service outstanding.
I've dined at Chandler's may times before and never before experienced a disappointing meal. Nice glass of wine; nicely prepared Caesar salad. Then I was brought a plate of rack of lamb and warned not to touch the plate because it was incredibly hot. First that should never be the case. But more to the point, not only was the plate not hot, but neither was the food that had apparently been sitting on it far too long. The waiter bought it back to the kitchen and after a too long wait, it came back, this time the plate really was hot, but the food still wasn't even a little bit warm. A young woman of apparent (but not actual) authority came by at that time to announce that she'd be right back to se how I was doing. Nice words, but entirely insincere. Never saw here again My waiter gamely kept swinging at it and became pretty adept at apologies. But here's the thing:misakes are going to happen, even at. a good restaurant. I'd happily give Chandler's another chance, but at least for this evening, it was just a dud.
