Going to a crab house and getting water logged crab cocktail is simply unacceptable. The crab cake was good but the accompanying mashed potatoes were cold and the asparagus was over cooked. A disappointing experience

Our 41st anniversary was celebrated in style! King crab and Ahi tuna with key lime pie (the best in the northwest). Joshua our waiter was fun!

Delicious food, great service beautiful setting. We all had a steak and crab dish that we loved. I also had roasted Brussels sprouts and panna cotta for dessert which I highly recommend. We went during restaurant week. The prices otherwise seemed higher than I would typically spend but everything was perfect!

It was all pretty regular. Was bummed how pricey it all was, especially for what we got. Won't return.

Went during SRW and loved the selections. Had the tasty russels sprouts, the lightly crusted steelhead entree served on a bed of creamy risotto, and the decadent chocolate dessert. I also ordered the strawberry lemonade which was also wonderful. They made it less sweet for me because I was concerned about having too much sugar in the drink. There was so much food that I took over half of each entree home and enjoyed everything again the next day. I would go again this week but I probably won't. The tip of 20% was included on the bill. I didn't mind.

I took friends here on their first visit to Seattle because I knew the cuisine would be stellar and the wines excellent. Indeed all that was true. In addition, the hostess made it possible for us to have a water view, which my guests, being new to Seattle, relished. Altogether a wonderful experience!

We arrived a little early, but only had to wait for about five minutes. All the waitstaff were very professional and kind. The restaurant was clean and comfortable and our seats were lovely with a view. Our food was delicious and special needs of mine were met as I am a vegan with a shellfish allergy but do eat salmon and trout.

Went here for a birthday dinner for my sister. The view and ambience is amazing .
We noted that we wanted to take our time and our server was spot on with her timing.
The food was delicious. Will definitely go to Chandler's again when returning to Seattle.

Went to Chandlers to grab a bite before heading out to the theatre. Service was so slow and poor, we were late getting to the theatre and missed the performance.
Mentioned to the server that we had Theatre and were time sensitive. Did not matter.
Food was okay. Will not go back again.

We live in Vancouver, USA and came up for the Seattle Restaurant Week menus. Chandlers was on the list for the Crab Cakes which are outstanding. The steaks are a surprise as is the number of excellent Washington wines by the glass.

The Lobster was the disappointment. Flavorless!! Nice presentation, grilled, seasoned but something happened. We have tried Lobster at the Ringside in Portland and Mortons and maybe its the time of year but all were a disappointment. Maybe we just have to go to South Portland, Maine!!

But the Crab Cakes.......................................OMG.

Overall we were disappointed. The food preparation is outdated and overpriced for the quality. My crab was under cooked, service was slow and unimpressive, the hostesses were dressed all in black but it was obvious they can wear anything they want as long as it's black, regardless if it looks professional or not. They add a 20% tip on to the meal regardless if service is worth an extra 20%. We paid through the roof and drove all the way from Auburn for a lovely, first call meal but unfortunately they fell short. This wasn't a "you get what you pay for" situation. We may be back for drinks and appetizers just because of the location but our expectations will have to be lowered to have a good time.

I visited Chandler's for a late lunch on Easter Sunday. While they were not featuring a special Easter menu, the food was delicious. I had the mussels and clams as well as what they bill as "the best ever crab cake." I loved the mussels and clams, steamed in a light butter and wine sauce with herbs. I liked, not loved, the crab cake. My friend ordered and really liked their prawn dish. I'll definitely return and definitely recommend. Service was friendly and professional.

The restaurant itself was cold. I don't know at what time the heat was turned on or how long it takes for the place to warm up but a 2 p.m., it was not comfortable.

20% service charge for poor service. Ordered items never made it to the table and we waited 15 minutes after our food came out to finally flag down a waiter and get the drawn butter for our crab.

The more I go out to eat lately in Seattle, which is becoming less, I am expecting a stellar dining experience and I end disappointed. The disappointment stems from things like 20% flat service fee, way overpriced food, an old kind of icon restaurant that looks worn out and not kept up. The food was ok and the view was great...enough said.

We went for our anniversary and enjoyed the scallops and crab steamer pot. Everything was fantastic but the Dungeness was a little spongy and flavorless. The Alaskan crab was amazing and the view at sunset, stunning.

Overall, I would rate this restaurant at a chain restaurant level. It came highly rated which is why I decided to try it. However, the food fell short of the hype. We decided on just a few small plates to get a variety of food in one sitting without getting too full. The calamari was a bit on the over cooked side with not much care as to the selection of pieces. Much of it was clumped together. The seared ahi was dead cold. Flavor was ok but highly masked by the spicy aioli served on crackers that were touted as fried wontons. The “world famous crab cake” was pretty flavorful, although definitely not a traditional style of crab cake. The mashed potatoes were excellent. Good flavor. Nice and fluffy. And the Caesar salad was fairly standard.
Considering the cost, the food was well below value. Will likely not go again. I would like to amend this review to say that we did not try any of the main dishes which may be of a better quality and more their focus. That said, I believe the whole menu should be at the same quality level regardless of the dishes.

Everything was fine, but way too expensive. $20 for one crab cake is ridicuous. With a split salad and one crab cake and one glass of wine each, a quick dinner before the theatre was $160. We’ll not be back .

Although our server was very good, we did not appreciate an automatic 20% tip on our bill. This should still be controlled by the customer. We understand for a large group of 8 or more, but it should not just be automatically added on your bill and nothing was said to us that it is already included. We almost paid double!!

the service was not up to par and i have better food here. today was a total miss. the banana cream pie was bad. it was serviced with brown banana’s the pudding part of it was tough feel. like it was a few days old.
the service was not good. it Seems since thy gone to the automatic 20% fee their service has gone down hill. it like the staff does not care since the tip is automatic added.

since i am award member I try to go here every time in town. now i am thinking about checking out other place for my Dungeons Crab. that was a little over cooked

It was a very sparse crowd for a Friday night on Lake Union and after our experience it’s not difficult to see why. Service was very awkward and not up to the standard of a restaurant of this supposed caliber. Food was good but not exceptional, very disappointed and would not recommend.

This was a special evening celebrating my girlfriend's birthday and first time here. Was greeted warmly by the manager and seated promptly. Our server was slow to respond and unfortunately was slow on service throughout our visit. The food was truly wonderful and of course the view was very pleasant although raining and then darkness but I can only imagine how wonderful on a sunny day. Being a Schwartz Brothers Platinum member I have enjoyed Daniel's Broiler for years and was expecting the same exceptional service. Hopefully better service next time.

Even though the broccoli was over cooked, the crab stuffed prawns and crab legs were perfect. We will definitely be back!

Chandler’s is a fantastic date-night. Easy to get to, right off the I-5. Parking lot easy walking distance to restaurant. They do not validate, however. The dining room is roomy and looks out over South Lake Union. Service was very attentive, checking in frequently. The poke wraps were fantastic and the crab mac’n cheeses was amazingly good. The rest of the menu was full of northwest ingredients. Great place to bring out-of-town guests looking for some local seafood. Overall, a very nice experience.

We had a perfect evening at Chandler's for my birthday. Because it was Wednesday, we had no trouble getting a table in front of the window. Wine, food, desserts, everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The dining room and the view were lovely. Service was charming if a bit slow. But we were in no hurry, and enjoyed the leisurely evening. Loved it!

The 20% imposed service charge probably makes sense but in practice it no doubt is the reason the service was so poor. The our waiter seemed to have zero incentive to be attentive and responsive. The food was excellent but the service was as poor as it gets. Our table wasn’t bussed. We had to track someone down to clear our table. We had to ask several times for our waiter to come to our table. When we finally got our check we couldn’t find our waiter again and after 15 minutes finally gave up and took the check to the front desk and asked to have someone run the payment. Unfortunately there was no way to reward superior service at Chandlers nor, as in this case, “appropriately” tip for the poor, inattentive and generally inferior service we received. With an imposed standard service charge restaurant management really needs to ensure a high standard of service by the waitstaff since their compensation performance is not directly (if at all) tied to the quality of service they provide.
