They had no sushi rice left. So no sushi at a sushi restaurant Had a reservation and they never called to tell us.
Too Expensive!
We wanted to order two sushi rolls and the restaurant ran out of rice. We couldn't order anything else because they didn't have tuna either.
Checked in and was told a server will be taking care of me, after 20 minutes had to go and order my drink from the bar. Ask bartender twice for a server so I can order food, server walked by several times without asking if I wanted to order food. So never got to order food nor the bartender ever checked if I got to order food as I ask him I could pay for it at the bar and send it to the table.
Ordered a very expensive Negroni ($24.00) which was not made right as the bartender did not even have an orange peel to finish the cocktail properly. Not concerned about the price but if you are going to charge an obnoxious amount for a drink better be properly made. Can not believe there was not an orange in the building with over 4 restaurants on premises.
In a few words careless service compared to the other restaurants visited within the same hotel.
This place has great potential but was severely understaffed. Only 1 host/server and 1 chef. Took 1.5 hours for us to get our food and chef left plastic wrap in the imitation crab meat in our california roll. Of course, that roll was taken off our bill. The host/server tried her best. She needs help. The live music was an incredible touch to the place but I sincerely hope management considers getting rid of the live music to hire more servers instead if budgeting is an issue. Staffing needs to be prioritized over ambiance.
didn’t honor reservation. Made us wait an hour before taking our order, another to bring out our food. We ordered sushi but they ran out of rice (what sushi bar runs out of rice) so we barely had anything to eat after waiting that long.
Service was horrible. Waited 30 minutes to be acknowledged another 45 for food to find out they ran out of rice for the sushi. Reservations not needed
Service was bad. We waited like 30 minutes to order drinks. After ONE HOUR AND THIRTY MINUTES (1:30) of ordering our main course, two sushi rolls, we were told they were out of rice. You are telling me, you took our order, we waited one hour and a half, THEN you notice you were out of rice? Insane. Night ruined and went home hungry. Only redeeming thing was the cocktail.
Menu listed online doesn’t consistent with what the they actually serve. It’s only sushi
Excellent suchi and cocktails. Good music and quick service
Had to wait an hour for someone to take my order..
Excelente en todos los sentidos
Comida Buena
Música buena
We didn’t eat there but the music & service were excelent
A good place to have a date with your mom or your lover!
The sushi bar is by a corner bar of the El San Juan Hotel, past the main bar with the large Chandelier, therefore I almost missed it. My family and I loved the sushi, our dinner was perfect. The waiter was also very attentive and helpful in making recommendations. Just be mindful, that the sushi menu isn't very large, but enough variety. The El San Juan Hotel lobby is absolutely beautiful. I look forward to having dinner there again.
Terrible Date Night experience @ this upscale location. My poor review is linked to service. We waited almost an hour for our drinks and two hours to receive simply sushi. The Manager was apologetic and seemed sincere and did not charge us for the reservation and gave us a complimentary hotel swag bag as a goodwill gesture. He stated they were short staffed because of COVID so I tried to be understanding of his dilemma leading to our substandard service. Since we had traveled from Maryland to dine here, it was a bit disappointing.
Unorganized service, food was not served at the same time, drinks took too long, beer served without opening it and wrong cocktail served.
Too crowded for so little staff, almost 1 hour to get served our food and waiter was not attentive to serve more drinks, almost 40 minutes to ask for an extra drink. Find it difficult to make eye contact with the waiter.
Came here on a Sunday evening around 6:45 to have a drink and some apps before heading to a place down the street for dinner. We have stayed at the El San Juan Hotel before, and was hoping the lounge/lobby was still open despite Covid restrictions. To our delight, it was! The service, drinks, food were all impeccable. The space is absolutely elegant & the history behind it is rich and very interesting. There was a wonderful band playing music while there. We will absolutely be back!
Bad experience
The service was awful
The promotion was not accurate or according to the reality.
Not well organized
The food took a long time to arrive
Few waiters
They didn't take the empty plates from table.
Sadly because this is supposed to be one of the best places to go in PR.
Well, let me start by saying, the table was great, ambiance and decor were very elegant and appropriate. The menu, what can I say, it was not chinese, it was a mixture of Japanese, Puertorican and Chinese fusion. The only items claiming to be Chinese were the dumplings and they tasted store bought. The Lion dance appalled me. Me and my family have seen many traditional Lion dances. They could have asked a Kung-Fu school to help with this dance since martial artist are usually the dancers. The host was amazing, she came to our table and saw our disappointment and gave us 2 drinks called The Divinity and it was fabulous. We ordered the Dim Sum Basket and it was anything but Dim Sum. First time ever I see a Char Siu Baozi, how they called it... was more like a taco. The theme was Teatime, Bubble, and DimSum, yet no traditional tea was available. Unless you count that The Divinity drink had a Jasmine flavor to it.
Perfect. The food was good and the Wine I wanted was merlot, the girl from Argentina was very nace with us. She changed us for other table because the sun.
It’s not open. I received a confirmation on open table and when I arrived it was closed.
End of year celebration with my kids
Impressive!
I enjoyed my afternoon tea. I was greeted by the Beverage Mgr Justine that made me feel quite special.
