Made a reservation for a business lunch meeting on extremely short notice and only had an hour, so we elected to sit at the bar. Staffing was minimal due to COVID with the bartender clearly doing a lot of other things, but our orders were taken quickly and the food arrived fast. Everything was correct and nice and hot. Worked out great.
Great place and nice to be able to use open table! Food and great selection of beers. A little expensive but overall very good.
The service was great as was the food. Great choice for dinner with family.
We always enjoy our time at Champps, but this time was an exception. Our server was new and was very, very slow with our drinks, our requests, clearing our table of dishes, etc. It was actually horrible. The salad I had also was just average. Not the usual good food. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, celebrating my dad's 89th birthday.
Was glad that restaurant was open for Thanksgiving, but Thanksgiving meal not as good overall as it has been in the past. Still a great place to get a burger and watch your favorite game.
Great food and nice evening out
Waited over an hour for our food from time of ordering.
Though our server was upbeat and energetic she couldn’t make up for the terrible food. How can you go wrong with simple food? Try not warming up the pre-cooked chicken on a salad or only putting dressing underneath the salad. How about frying chicken tenders in the oil with fish...yes, they tasted like fish. Someone needs to wake the kitchen staff up.
The food and drinks were really nasty. I will never eat at Champps again.
Good service
Our server was extraordinary! Wasn't pleased with seating arrangements. Had requested side room. However, our server was quite attentive...and patient!!
The kitchen was way too slow. Our poor server was helpless to get all the food out at the time. She did get
her manager to comp my meal because it took so long.
This is my first problem with slow food delivery. I will go back and give them another chance.
This was a nightmare. First, we had a reservation as it was Father's Day, but they were relatively slow when we arrived. We were seated right away and a waiter came to take drink/appetizer orders. Then nothing. We never saw him again. He literally vanished. After 15 minutes, we asked the hostess for help and another waitress was sent to us. She was annoyed from the beginning and repeatedly told us she had to leave to cry (much busier now). We put in our food order and waited over one hour before our waitress returned to tell us there are only 4 cooks in the kitchen. Really? On Father's Day? And people coming in after us received their food?! The manager came out-she also seemed incredibly annoyed. We never asked to speak with her, but the waitress knew we were upset. The manager (a woman with long, dark hair)seemed upset with our waitress for doing this. We explained we had been there, waiting for food for well over one hour. She just said, "FINE," and stormed off into the kitchen. We never saw her again. No apology, never checked on the food (when we finally received it), NOTHING. Our food was sub-par as most of our meals were cold--but no one wanted to complain and wait longer. Our final bill was over $150 and no offers were given (making our one appetizer free would have been a good gesture). I will never go here again.
Everyone enjoyed their food. The salads were large portions. Server brought a sample of the sauce for the jambalaya for my husband to see the heat level. Server was efficient. We had a reservation and were taken to our table immediately.
If there was a maybe button, I’d click that. The food was good, but service was VERY slow and the restaurant was Not packed. I ordered my 2nd drink before finishing my meal & got it as everyone else was Eating their dessert. 😳
They were one of the only places in town that could/would accommodate a party of 8 on Mother’s Day. When we arrived, we were immediately seated, which never happens other places. The staff was on top of things, the food was good, hot and came out in a timely manner. The free Mother’s Day dessert was just an amazing touch. It’s a great restaurant and we will be back!
Great service and atmosphere, appetizers were a little burnt but otherwise great experience and will visit again.
We were placed at a long table for dinner where half of our group faced the window. The sun was shining directly into our eyes for the majority of our meal which was very uncomfortable. We were told that there was nothing they could do because the sun shades were installed backwards on the windows. I can't believe that the issue wasn't fixed before graduation weekend. I would have gone somewhere else, except everything was booked at that point. So, no I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone else.
Champp's is a sport's bar that serves a variety of food. We were seated immediately as a result of our reservation and the server was very prompt. We ordered quickly and were told that the kitchen was behind because of a large group of young athletes there with adults. It took 45 minutes after ordering to get our food which was a bit longer then either of us expected. I ordered the "Dilemma" and was somewhat disappointed. The meal comes with fries (which were cold) and the fried egg which comes on the sandwich was overcooked (most restaurants I frequent serve a runny egg on their sandwiches). My wife had a salad with salmon and said her meal was very good. Though this experience did not measure up to the standards I expect, I still would recommend it and plan on visiting in the future.
Mgr, big guy could greet pp better, could dress like a manager. Waitress Denise was very nice. Food not that great at all. Room was freezing, turned temp up. Finally thawed out. Wont go there anytime soon. Sorry but its going down hill.
The food was very delayed
Great Service- great place to be to cheer on the Spartans! Food was good.
Took over 45 minutes to get our beers. Finally had to ask for manager who told us she didn’t even see our drink order. Salad had hair in it and chicken over cooked.
We have gone back a few times hoping for a better experience. The food continues to be ok, at best. My sandwich came out 15 minutes after my wife and daughters meal. They had a paste dish which was bland, and less than warm. Overall, we would prefer to stop somewhere else for dinner.
I haven’t been to a Champs restaurant in ages and wasn’t sure what to expect. The food was much better than I remembered! Our service was very good considering the number of tables our server seemed to have. Would definitely go back again when in the area.
Paige was a great server. We were there for Valentines Day and the food was excellent. a little noise, but it is a sports bar too.
Loved the Fennel Sausage Flatbread - thin crust and delicious combination of flavors. The side Caesar salad had unimpressive lettuce and practically no dressing, so I had to ask for more. I love that you can get a glass of Prosecco! Hard to find in most restaurants. The only downside was the noise level. Quite loud on a Friday evening, which made conversation difficult.
The rib eye steak (ordered medium) came out raw. When it came back cooked correctly, it was loaded with gristle and sinew. Must have been an old dairy cow.
They don’t offer real butter with their food as a condiment (oily cheap whipped margarine) and their blue cheese dressing is also artificial.
Brussels sprouts were greasy - vegetables served with the steak were cold.
Very dissatisfied- however they did credit back the steak.
Probably should stick to wings and beer
Great food and service. I go there often. Good happy hour drinks and appetizers.
They didn't have our reservation. They said that they use Yelp and they never check the Open Table reservations. We ended up getting a table for our group, but I was very disappointed that it hadn't already been set up. I will not use Open Table again.
The food was great. Our waiter Keegan was fantastic. He was attentive but did not make us feel like he was bugging us. The noise level was perfect, and having all the TV was great also.
Really appreciated being able to make reservations on New Year's Eve. I had looked at the menu on-line before arriving and chosen the Tuscan Salmon, and was really looking forward to it, especially since it was lo-cal. Upon ordering it, was told they were out of salmon. I ordered the Vodka Chicken and it was very good. My husband ordered a well-done burger, but it was pink all through. The Eastwood Champps offered to give him another burger, but time prevented waiting for another to be cooked. He was not charged for the burger. He also ordered a salad, which he said was good.
My burger was good. I come here for the Mile High Ice Cream Pie, which is delicious!
If you are a vegetarian, they have the Beyond Burger and it's incredible and reasonably priced. The restaurant is usually moderately busy, and they have a really extensive menu. I'd say they are a higher class Applebee's or Chili's.
Great food and service! Reservation process worked really well.
Great food, good service- it was just very dark in the restaurant
Took a lot of good items off the menu; what I ended up ordering wasn’t that great. Didn’t like the auto dimming lights during the day. Who wants to sit in the dark during the day?
We ate here before a MSU basketball game. We were seated immediately with a reservation and our food was delivered shortly after ordering. There were 4 of us and we all thought our food was delicious. Great food, prompt service in a quiet atmosphere out in the dining room. We will eat here again just to try different things!
Lost reservation due to booking on open table, apparently they had switched to Yelp and do not check Open Table anymore or often enough (Made around 3 p.m. for 6:30 p.m. reservation).
Service was good, but odd to say the least. This is not by any means a fine dining restaurant, but the server acted too professional, calling us by first names and responding to every request with "i'd be happy to." We all found it uncomfortable, and just wanted the service without all of the extra-ness. I finally had to tell her that she did not need to call us by name. We just wanted a casual experience to celebrate my friend's birthday. A good server should be able to gauge their customers.
Overall, the price was far too expensive for the quality of food that we received. Spinach dip was like water and super thin, husband's burger was good, but my $16 salad had the smallest piece of salmon. Not worth it and will not eat here again.
Great service and accommodating to large parties. The staff is excellent and the food is very good.
