Friendly and cozy spot with great food and service. Stands out in Chelsea for being high quality food in a relaxed environment
Nice place, people and very good food. Glad to find it!
Food was great, we had a reservation and were seated right away.
staff was friendly.
Champignon was - as always - excellent in all respects! The food was outstanding, the service impeccable, and the ambiance understated and lovely.
Champignon is a great neighborhood restaurant. The staff is pleasant and attentive and the restaurant comfortable. Some of the entrees are better than others (I really like the salmon) but it is generally good. I really like the calmari appetizer and the grilled octopus- nice wines.
I dined at Champignon for the first time, and had a wonderful lunch. The space is nice and no-frills - feels like a classic neighborhood joint with no pretension. I had the beet salad, the homemade veggie burger with mashed potatoes, and the chocolate pyramid for dessert. Everything was delicious. The service was outstanding and the prices most reasonable. A great option in Chelsea for lunch, brunch or dinner.
So the actual venue looked nothing like the photos ... we left with without ordering as the food coming out of the kitchen did not look apealing .
Five women met for a lunch get-together. The staff was nice and patient, not rushing us and answering
all questions. The menu is varied and everyone had a choice of what they like to eat. It was a pleasant, experience and we will return at our next get together.
Evening manager almost ruined the evening by his reluctance to split the bill 3 ways. He had to be persuaded with a threat to report him. The rest of the staff is wonderful. He makes me give a lower grade to our experience.
Really good atmosphere & very attentive service.
I got to say the food was good:)
Sthefany was very nice girl and gives good customer service.
I've eaten at Le Champignon several times now, for brunch and dinner, and will continue to do so. Located very near the 23rd St. #1 stop, it is a highly convenient place to meet friends and enjoy coffee and dessert, a drink, or a full meal. A truly worthwhile neighborhood spot with upbeat, attentive (but not fawning) service. Don't hesitate.
It was a very comfortable place for brunch with friends
Found this restaurant online and saw some photos and reviews from precious patrons and decided to go here for a team lunch. We made a reservation and were seated immediately, even though we were waiting for one more member of the team to arrive.
The staff came and attended us quickly and were very accommodating and attentive. The food portions are great for the price and taste amazing. Their steak is quality and lamb burger delicious.
Would definitely recommend and go back!
A good neighborhood favorite to meet a friend for a drink
Easy to get to from subways
Hostess Stephanie is excellent and we will follow her food recommendations next time - Waiters and all the staff very nice and very helpful and we had a very nice time.
Everyone here is so nice and the food is 10/10! Very comfortable and awesome vibes.
The food was cooked perfectly and the service was wonderful!!
really nice place, went there with 10 friends on a Saturday night. Service was very accommodating ( Stephanie is a very dedicated waitress), not pushing or rushing us, and made separated checks for everyone. Food was really good, steak was perfectly cooked and tasty, tuna salad was generous, raviolis... definitely recommend this place
My husband and I had a lovely Sunday brunch this week. We were in Chelsea to see a play at the Irish Repertory Theatre. The location was perfect. This has been our go to restaurant when we are in the area.
Substandard. Food seemed stale. Everything from bread to duck breast. Seemed as if prepared by non-professional. Place was nearly empty, and I can understand why. Staff was nice...not their fault.
Good location for after galleries or dance/theater. Nice bar, but food leaves just middling.
Food was not great but the enviro was lovely. The “large salad” was anything but
The noise level was deafening. Conversation with my friends was impossible. Service was wanting. One man seemed in charge of the dining room and the outdoor cafe. I wasn't quite ready to order when he came to take our order (I'd arrived late because of rain). He remarked that this was his second visit to the table. We waited 15-20 minutes for our dinners to arrive. We had to tell the server we had theater tickets and needed to get going. My dinner, lemon chicken, was fine (choices on the menu are unimaginative -- and not very French). I had been looking forward to catching up with my friends' news; I hadn't seen them for a while. We could scarcely hear each other across a small table. I won't be returning.
Always dependable and good with prices that would only be higher at many other places with less variety and quality.
The food, service, and ambiance at Champignon were all superlative!
Waited for a longtime after seating for coffees. Same with food. Pancakes had no butter or syrup on plate or table. Took 2 asks to get that. Asked for 3 cokes and we were hLf way through meal before we got them but that was after 2 of us had to go to the bar and ask for them. When asked if they were short staffed she replied “ yes as you can see” maybe telling us that st the beginning would have allowed us the choice oh going next door if they were really under that much pressure
The seafood platter was very good. The steak frites merely okay. Medium rare came out medium rare, but presliced so a bit dry. Fennel salad was excellent. Very good service. We were eating early, so the staff seemed a bit scattered getting ready for the evening
I would not hesitate to return.
Neighborhood staple, I’ve eaten here for as long as it has exited back in their bakery days. The food is good and the service is good with friendly staff. The prices go up and the menu changes like the neighborhood. Not the bargain it was only a few short years ago. Still not the little French bistro I remember.
Amazing service. Went during brunch with friends and they were unbelievably nice. The mimosas were delicious yet strong. The food was also really tasty and well priced. Will definitely be going back!
The food was excellent, the service was polite but somewhat inattentive (I kept running out of water and we generally had to call for our server’s attention ourselves). A good place to have dinner, but budget plenty of time.
We had a reservation with request to be seated outside as we had two small dogs. No one called to say they would not honor this reservation. They were rude and dismissive. We left
