Chamberlain's Steak & Chop House Ratings and Reviews
We had a very enjoyable experience on our first visit to Chamberlain's. Our waiter was excellent and we appreciated his recommendations and his ability to be attentive and at the same time unobtrusive. At no time did we feel rushed, so we had a leisurely dinner. Our steaks were excellent, cooked to perfection, and the crispy brussel sprout side dish was delicious. We will definitely return!
Horrible experience from beginning to end. Lobster bisque soup was cold for 9 of us. My sister ordered a medium filet and when we asked to get it to medium the waiter said “but it’s almost medium”. When she get the steak the second time it was completely rare. My friend ordered a New York strip and it was cold? We were so confused on how a steak could be sent to our table cold. There was a group of 20 of us the guys table was perfection and their waiter even told them that we had the worst waiter and that he didn’t want to split checks with him. Honestly, we aren’t the type to complain but I had 15 people fly in from Chicago for this dinner and for NYE and we were all disappointed. I just would’ve assumed that a Chop house would know how to cook steak or at least serve warm soup. We were so excited about the cigar room and atmosphere but after that horrible me experience we just wanted to go home. Never coming back here again.
Fabulous dinner - some of the best food I've had at Chamberlain's. The filet mignon was melt in your mouth and the accompanying grits delicious. My salmon special was wonderful - perfectly cooked and so full of flavor. Then there's the creamed corn - the best on the planet - outstanding! And the cauliflower soup and Kobe meatballs wonderful. I can't say enough about this meal. Kudos to the chef!
My wife and I picked this restaurant to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. It would have been nice to have been offered Champagne and also coffee with our dessert. The server was nice, but seemed to be operating out of his element. The whole experience was rushed. We were sat at 5:20 and were finished with our meal including dessert by 6:20. We may consider going back but not to celebrate a special occasion.
Chamberlain's has been our spot for a Christmas season dinner for several years now. Last year, we were surprised by the sound level in the dining room but this year, in the same room, it was much better. We were easy to speak to each other at a reasonable level. The food, as always, was wonderful! Service was great as well - Nathan was our server and the gentleman taking care of water glasses was a gem at keeping them full while not intruding. A favorite experience!
My husband and I have patronized this restaurant for years, but this last visit was not good. It was disappointing. My fried almond-crusted goat cheese salad came with 1/2 the normal amount of cheese, although delicious, it was not up to snuff. The ahi steak was not so beautiful either. It was quite loud in the restaurant, also a disappointment, but it was a Saturday evening during the holiday season. Not sure we'll return. :(
Chamberlain's has the best steak in town. The whiskey peppercorn sauce recently amazed a friend of mine from Paris - who is a total snob when it comes to food. I feel like their cuts of meat are better than the other steakhouses in Dallas. I actually drive to Addison from near downtown to eat there. That's how good it is. The mashed potatoes are excellent. The key lime pie is great, too, although a little too much whipped cream for my taste. The service is great, too. I highly recommend the creamed corn.
This business dinner was my first experience at Chamberlains and it did not disappoint. From the friendly staff to the excellent food and wine, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a very nice upscale and professional experience. We enjoyed prime rib, lamb and salmon and they were all excellent choices.
Chamberlain’s came highly recommended. Was disappointed and wish we would have just eaten at Houston’s or Hillstone. Wine seriously overpriced and we have had everything from Opus One to Heitz over the years. Heitz was priced about right. Server was ok but we ordered our meal and I swear the prime rib my wife had and my filet came out in about 3 minutes. Wife said prime rib was “ok”. My filet was poor quality, asked for medium rare, most of the steak was black and blue and gristle made about half of it un edible. Grits were good and my wife mash potatoes we also good.
We often take our wine home, resturant is required to bag it. Server failed to bring a bag after he snapped up the paid tab...don’t nice restaurants normally leave the ticket that you signed on the table until you leave?? And I left and 18% tip on the total tab (I would normally leave 20%). Would have left 15% if I thought he would forget the wine bag.....So we just corked it and walked out.
We love Bob’s, Capital Grill, Nick and Sams, etc. would not return to Chamberlain’s, I felt like the decor and overall experience was reminiscent of eating at a Steak and Ale.
Great steak. Excellent service. The owner stopped by our table to see how our meal was. Great place for a date, romantic dinner or special occasion. Great menu options. Our waiter was great as well, making several suggestions and accommodating us with a mix of appetizers because we couldn't decide on which to get (they all sounded so good). Would definitely go back if I'm in the area again.
We've been to the Fish Market a few times, so we thought we'd try out the Chop House. Our waiter Keith was great, he explained the wine and food specials, along with his personal and other customers favorites.. My kids both had filets which came out perfectly cooked and included yukon smashed potatoes... my girlfriend had the filet with peppercorn sauce.. all of them were tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly... I opted for the Sea Bass which was melt in your mouth and moist. It went great with one of our favorite Chards... Ferrari Carrano... even though we were stuffed, we had to have the chocolate cake and coconut cream pie... which are awesome!.. Thanks again to a great dining experience!
