About Chamard Vineyards, Farm Winery Bistro
Established in 1983, Chamard Vineyards, is one of the Connecticut Wine Trails founding fathers. Tucked between the Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River, Chamard enjoys a unique marine micro-climate ideal for growing European Vinifera vines such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Pinot Noir. To produce “French Inspired Wines from the Connecticut Shoreline” has been Chamards mission from the start. As a farm, Chamard honors agriculture by partnering with fellow growers and producers to pair food with wine in celebration of Connecticut’s local gastronomy.

Chamard Vineyards, Farm Winery Bistro Ratings and Reviews
this was the best lunch i have had by far. We stumbled upon this great find and wanted to stay all day! The place is beautiful and the food was delectable. However, the reason for this review and the recommendation to others was the waiter. We had Cooper, and he was truly one of the best waiters i have ever had! Attentive, knowledgeable and made you feel as if you were his famy member. A tremendous asset to your restaurant!!!!
I loved the lunch menu and was excited to try this restaurant. The flavors of the food were great but the portions were a bit small for the price. We also felt as though the waiter seemed inexperienced. The wine is delicious (as it should be with the winery being right there). I will definitely go back and recommend to friends.
This was our second time visiting Chamard. The food is good - a solid "B". We are not big-portion-people, and totally appreciate fine dining, however we both left feeling a little...well, hungry.
The lamb in cassoulet was delicious but again, a little light on the meat, heavy on the beans. The cod en papillote was a tad dry and not very interesting; the vegetables were nearly non-existent. Having recently relocated from California, we were pleasantly surprised by the wines. Charming vineyard and tasting room.
We celebrated my father's 80th birthday at Chamard. It was the perfect setting. He's from Italy and grew up on vineyards. Being on this beautiful property put a smile on his face immediately. I live in Brooklyn and booked this based on other OpenTable reviews so I hope this review will make another family celebration a memorable and happy one.
Delightful evening with friends. We arrived at sunset and enjoyed a spectacular sky above the pond. Inside, we were seated at a comfortable table for 6. We started with the sparkling rose, which was lovely. When we ordered 18 oysters, we were told there were only 6 left. A very apologetic waitress brought us a complimentary shrimp cocktail. Our salad and dinner choices were all varied but all wonderful. The menu is varied enough to satisfy all. We enjoyed the Stone Cold White with dinner. Our server was helpful and attentive. This is a special place to relax and enjoy fresh flavorful food with friends.
We had celebrated my Wife's 40th Birthday 4 years ago at Chamard where we had a private wine tasting party in the cellar which was just awesome. Since then, we have gone back to enjoy dinner with our children. Driving the hour from New Canaan is worth the investment of time, as Chamard is a special place for us. We just went again on Saturday to celebrate her 44th and once again, another homerun with the great food and staff!!!!!!!!
Second visit to Chamard Vineyard after brunch with few friends in April 2017, I knew my sister would love it on her visit to Connecticut from Florida. We had nice lunch and excellent service and delicious food.
Hope to visit again, recommended to others.
Thank you. A beautiful touch to see a yellow rose on our table to benefit Autisim and also beautiful art decor on walls.
Chamard is one of our favorite dinning spots, in Connecticut, and this dinner was the 5th annual holiday meal for my friends group. It is a spot that is well worth the long drive, due to their great wine, delicious food, and cozy atmosphere. Make a reservation, get there early and do a wine tasting, and then enjoy a multiple course meal. We are always thrilled with the food we get and the wine we drink. The service is also great and this recent visit proved that even more to us. After being sat 30 minutes after our reservation time (due to the people at the table before us not wanting to leave) the staff made sure to get us comfortable at another table and send over a complimentary cheese plate. Above and beyond! Highly recommended!
We dine here often. The food is superb. The weekly specials are always creative and tasty. The service is top notch. The waitstaff and the kitchen staff are all very friendly and cordial. Makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended.
Thank you Chamard for doing such a fantastic job!!
An absolutely beautiful place. This was my first experience at a Vineyard and it did not disappoint. The wine was ethereally delicious, the food was exquisite, the grounds are beautiful, even in November, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the price is really quite moderate, all things considered. Highly recommend and hope to be back, maybe in the summer.
This was our first date night out since having our daughter. I really wanted to go somewhere that was romantic since it would be the first time for us to connect as adults and not spit up covered zombies. Chamard did not disappoint. It was romantic, we had some awesome wines, and the food was worth every penny. We definitely will be back.
I thought the place was nice and the food was very good. I'm not sure I would go back though. I'm not a big eater, and I thought the portion size of my lamb dish was very small, too small. I wasn't full after I ate it. It probably had 5 or 6 medallions (half dollar size) of lamb and A LOT of beans. While I do like beans the portion ratio I thought was off. I think I can go to other restaurants and spend $36 on a entree and at least be full. I, also, thought the wine was pricey for what it was.
It's just my opinion, I had a wonderful time with my friends, and that's what it was all about. Prepare to spend about $100 pp with everything included.
Perfect place for a leisurely lunch. Will return when there are more colors in the trees! Our waiter was very accommodating with three ladies talking over a long lunch! I had the Frites and Madame Croque and can't wait to return again for the same selection.
My husband and I visited the Chamard vineyards to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary on Oct 4th, 2017.
We had the wine tasting and had a late lunch.
Our hostess, Kayla, was a gem.
She was kind, attentive and quite knowledgeable. She helped make our day very special.
We visit often and each time we are impressed more than the last visit. The meal we had this last visit was so good we talked about it for a couple of days. The wine, Malbec, was excellent and complimented the app we had which was unique. Red beet, avocado and salmon pate. I do not like red beet but decided to try this as the chef is so talented I wanted to see if he could make me like this. Well he did! We finished our meal with a raspberry tort...simply excellent!
Nice, creative, locally-sourced options that are good for individuals or to be shared. The estate Chardonnay was excellent and the flatbread and cheese platter was the perfect accompaniment to our girls lunch. The cheese puff was okay... the pastry was beautiful but sauce was lacking in flavor. Salted bread was wayyyy to good. Will def be coming back. They also have a private room with a table that we will need to check out. Our server was fantastic!!
