    The food and tea were wonderful. Equivalent to the Pasadena location. The service, however, was horrible. One loan waitress had to service everyone in the shop and she was running herself ragged. She tried her hardest, but it took almost 20 minutes just to get a menu after getting up and asking for one. Apparently the cook was brand new, and she had to train her while serving tables. This is really unacceptable for an eatery of this caliber. Apparently the cook was brand new and the waitress had to train her while serving tables.     service was really bad unfortunately. they are way understaffed. we waited half an hour just to get some menus and order, even though we had a reservation. there was only one server basically. the food was also pretty bland and dry, and it just wasn’t worth the money for the afternoon tea.

    This was such a perfect experience for time with the girls. Service was super friendly and we were constantly checked on. The teas were amazing! The finger food was just perfect to pick at while conversing. I would definitely come back and recommend this cute tea room.

    The service was great, thank you for that. I was disappointed in the quality/taste of the food and thought it strange that the sugar offered was in packets and not the cubed sugar I am used to at tea. Also where was my small tea spoon, to stir my tea? This review is for the Hollywood location.

    It was a struggle to find something with quality and class in the central Hollywood Blvd. area but we did: this tearoom. We live a half hour away in the "South Bay" area and avoid Hollywood completely, but wanted to attend an event there and found only one cafe or restaurant we could consider in the area around TCL Grauman's Chinese Theatre. (The wonderful Roosevelt was closed for lunch.) The ambiance is shockingly lovely - refined and classy, consequent to which wasn't overly busy at lunch. The table settings are classic tea service - beautiful. We didn't want tea but the food options were very good, reasonably priced, and ended up being very enjoyable. The Waldorf salad was excellent but I loved the classic tea service with four types of sandwich. The waitress was pleasant and accommodating. We will be seeking one of these closer to home.

    I have tried the Torrance location and was eager to try this closer tea room. This location is inside the mall at Hollywood and Highland. This leads to a much smaller size and slightly noisier location, however neither spoils your enjoyment. Service was great even though they seemed slightly under staffed. The tearoom serves soups, sandwiches and salads along with a wide assortment of teas and baked goods. I ordered the afternoon tea service with fresh scones, finger sandwiches, macaroons and strawberries and cream. All were very tasty with quantities enough for two possibly three to share. Afternoon tea starts around $25 with an extra $7 per person sharing a 3 tier tray of finger food and treats. I would definitely try if you’re looking for something a little different.

    My boyfriend and I had an incredible experience at Chado! We both did the Celebration Tea Service and it was definitely enough to fill us both up. The scones are served fresh out of the oven and were the highlight of our tea service paired with our selected teas. There's a wide variety of teas to choose from to suit all taste buds. The service was impeccable, our hostess was so kind, accommodating, and provided us with excellent recommendations. We will definitely be back again.

    I really really really want to like this place more. I love the ritual of afternoon tea. The good: some of the sandwiches are yummy (cream cheese and cucumber is good, open-faced smoked salmon is fine) the chicken salad could be good but it needs seasoning and there was no salt on the table. The egg salad sandwich is passable. The scone was delicious. Unfortunately the tea itself had no taste whatsoever. And the room is so loud even though there's hardly anyone there. For half the time I was there, only one person was working there so even though I had a reservation, the person spent about 20 minutes helping someone at the counter. The music which was the Bridgerton playlist, was on so loud and it's very annoying music. So my main suggestions would be to lower the noise level, offer salt on the table and make sure the tea is fresh before making the pot.

    They were so nice and great food. Its a gem, but located in Hollywood/highland which always makes me nervous. The staff was so nice and informative and the food was amazing. Took my niece and her friends for afternoon tea. No rush and we really enjoyed ourselves.

    I was really looking for a sweet experience with my daughter before we went to the Dolby to see Annie. It was a sweet experience, but it lacked in many ways. We walked into our reservation on time. We basically had to seat ourselves. I’m pretty sure there was one server who made tea and maybe even prepped the food. Didn’t see her much. When she brought our menu to the table after we sat down, she said to let her know when we were ready to order. We waited a while after deciding and so i got up to let her know we were ready. She was prepping in the back and said she would be right out. There ended up being another guy who delivered something later on, but I hadn’t seen anyone else up until him. We were missing silverware when the tea was brought out…no spoon to stir. They did not have the scone flavors that were listed on the menu. They only had plain and blueberry. For the price, I felt like it wasn’t worth it. The scones were dry, so were the sandwiches…Thin and not much to them. On the upside, the rooibos and birthday cake tea we ordered was so yummy. I should have purchased some to take home. The lemon curd they served was delicious. The servers were nice, just not enough employees. I suppose that is a problem for most places right now. Would I go back, yes. But my expectations would be different. If you want to sit for a while over a yummy pot of tea, yes. Try this place. It’s worth a shot. My 8 year old had a great experience, and honestly, that’s all that’s important.

    If you find yourself in this shopping center, there is no better way to relax than high tea. Chado is a hidden treasure, down some hallways and off to the side. But it is worth searching out.

    My friends and I are fans of Chado Tea Rooms, but this was our first time at this location. When we arrived for our OpenTable reservation, the lady working told us she didn’t have our reservation. I showed her my reservation on the app and she said they don’t check their OpenTable reservations. She seated us anyways, they were totally empty, but it was weird feeling reprimanded for making a valid reservation because of an operational oversight on their end. Tea and food was great as always, and they even made last minute accommodations for my gluten free friend which we appreciated. The server explained that they usually need advance notice for gluten free preparation, which they suggested we add in the notes of our reservations going forward. Which…was ironic considering they told us they don’t check OpenTable reservations. BUT - overall the food was solid and we all had a great time despite the bumpy hiccups.

    The scones were hard and stale. The hostess started to talk to us about other customers, complaining on an on when we had to leave. I though it was in bad taste and she lacked awareness of our need to move on.
