Chabrol Cafe Ratings and Reviews
We went for my partner's birthday. This was definitely a great dinner. We are French and the service and food were perfect ! The quality of the food is amazing, tasty, well cooked and you see the kitchen from your table ! the people are nice and let you enought intimity to enjoy your moment there. Glasses of wine were a bit expensive. Desserts were tasty. I strongly recommend, it worth it 100%.
A great quiet little french bistro treasure in the Yorkville Area. There are only 5 tables inside, and more than double that on the patio outside. Terrific modern french food, beautifully prepared. Charming service. Great for quiet lunch, after work glass of wine & nibbles or a romantic dinner. I'll be back.
My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful lunch date on the patio! The oysters are phenomenal and are a must have! Make sure to call ahead to ensure they are available as they sell out very quickly...in terms of entrée, their Ttoro is very authentic and the best bouillabaisse in town! The Papillote of Whitefish is cooked to perfection, so juicy and flavourful. Service is great and staff very knowledgeable on all dishes and suitable wine pairings to best compliment each dish! Only thing I would change, would be cutlery and plates...the cutlery is too big and cumbersome and plates are very basic, would love to see some French vintage styled plates in the future 😉
What Can I say other then it is simply put the best meal I’ve had in Toronto
Bar seating is fun in an intimate setting with cool staff and the food.....
Started with perfect oysters
A cheese plate
Some seafood bowl with fresh bread and the lamb.
Apple tart for dessert was the perfect end
It ain’t cheap and the wines go from reasonable to sublime but I walked out with 0 regrets
It is a little hard to see or find at first, It’s at the back end of a small alley-like space. But it keeps the eating experience intimate. They have outdoor seating that still feels of the street and a very select amount of indoor seating that gives it a reserved and quiet feel. The food was sensational and the service staff knew very well what they offered. I can’t talk about the food without praising too much so you’ll have to go and try for yourself to see.
Despite the chilly temperature we elected to sit outside under the patio heaters. The waiter was perfectly sarcastic with a genuinely witty sense of humour. We had the braised lamb and the whitefish which were both fantastic. A great bottle of wine followed by the apple tart made the entire meal an amazing experience. Highly recommended for a fun night out
It was a great meal starting with the wild cultivated oysters to locally sourced mushrooms from Ontario. I had no meat and I am not a vegetarian (although I have nothing against vegetables) but I did not miss meat at all. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and provided great service without being obtrusive. The wine list has many interesting wines from different parts of the world. I would (and will) go back to Charbrol. Perfect place for a French lunch in Toronto.
Overall, it was ok...great service and nice wine, Good terrine, but mediocre crostini to accompany it. Nice braised lamb, but maybe for a fall dish. My friend liked the lentil appetizer but the vegan main with mushrooms and peas reportedly had WAY too many onions for one person in one dish.
