Me and my wife celebrated our anniversary at Cha Bella. Our server Aly was awesome as this was our first time to the restaurant and she explained the specials addressed all our questions. The drinks were perfectly made and the food was delicious. I had the hog chop which was cooked to perfection and my wife had the bacon wrapped stuffed chicken. We met the chef after meal. It was a great experience and we will definitely dine there again in the very near future.
We waited an extremely long time just for a server or to be greeted and had to ask for assistance twice before finally getting a server or even menus. My food was inedible, the salt level extremely high, I did not eat it but still paid for it. Returned 3/4 of my meal to the kitchen unconsumed. Table next to us pretty loud, we felt like we were part of their conversation. Overall I would not recommend, it was a very expensive meal and the value was just not there.
Thanksgiving and our anniversary
We really liked last year’s experience , we missed the little biscuits with the cranberry sauce and the intimacy of last year, but the food was good, would like to experience the same as 2020 again. Thank you for a nice Thanksgiving dinner.
We went for the prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner. Understanding staffing issues in the service industry, I gave them 3 stars. But, the biggest issue was the quality of the food and that it was cold. The food was sitting out uncovered in buffet dishes that weren’t up to the task. And, they didn’t quite match the advertised menu…No assorted cheesecakes. Overall, it was a poor dining experience.
Thanksgiving buffet was not kept stocked. Food was not that great. Tip was added to the bill.
My husband and I made reservations at Cha Bella after seeing an advertisement with the listed buffet menu. It sounded amazing. The only thing that was amazing was the price.. and I mean that in a very negative way.
When we first arrived, the inside of the restaurant was very hot. We both instantly broke out into a sweat even though it was very cool outside. I immediately noticed a cook wearing a very dirty apron, but I convinced myself she had been making bread. The man that greeted us said he was our waiter also. We were taken outside to a small table which was fine because of the heat. I was seated right beside a very large dog — not a service dog.
We were left alone a long time and wasn’t sure what to do. The waiter finally returned to take our drink orders. The buffet plates were absolutely disgusting! They had chunks of food all over them. Several, several plates.
The food was down right disgusting. I can’t believe the high ratings this restaurant has online. I literally gagged when I tasted their stuffing. It was just wet chunks of bread with soggy apples and raw tasting chorizo. My husband had to spit out not one, not two, but five green bean stems that were in the casserole. The macaroni was just plain noodles with some cheese melted on top. There was no turkey the entire time we were there. The brussel sprouts were so hard I could hardly chew them. The ham was very dry. The prime rib was so raw…. I don’t mean rare… I mean blue raw. I totally lost my appetite when they slapped a piece on my husband’s plate — the man who later petted the large dog beside me and went back to serving prime rib.
The drinks were cheaply made and bad. I had dirty food chunks floating in it as well. They ran out of plates and everyone outside had to wait at least 15 minutes on new ones — which were also dirty. The desserts were minimal and empty. We literally paid over $160 for some sweet potatoes and a slice of pie. I am utterly sickened at the thoughts of this bad food!
We called ahead to reference dietary needs and were told there would be things available. There was some confusion with our waiter, but we finally got our "vegan" meals - which was okay, not great. We were told there would be stuffed squash. There was just roasted squash on top of plain rice, drizzled with cranberry sauce. We were charged $53 for this - a bit much, even for Thanksgiving, given what we received. Service was slow as they were so busy, but that's to be expected. We did not realize the other food would be buffet style - so the 3rd party in our group was finished eating before we got our meals. Also, the menu couldn't be found online - kinda' hard. The atmosphere, however, was perfect, and the drinks were good.
While we were very grateful for a place to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal (and very grateful for all working there on a holiday), I thought for the price that the serve-yourself buffet would've had more selections. At the standard $55 a plate for the four of us, I thought it was just 'ok'. BUT, our server Jackson couldn't have been MORE amazing and the restaurant itself was a gem. I'm betting if we came back on a 'normal/non-holiday' with the normal menu fare, it would prove better. We'll try it again when we visit Savannah.
Outdoor dining patio was the perfect location for Thanksgiving celebration. The buffet was delicious! All the tastes of a traditional home-cooked meal!
My King Charles Cavalier, Eliza, and I were enamored by Cha Bella. We sat on their patio which is stunning, and a water bowl was immediately brought for Eliza. Jackson, our waiter, was phenomenal. He gave perfect recommendations for dinner, dessert, and wine - and he gave Eliza lots of love. I’m a visitor from out of town exploring the city by myself, and Jackson made me feel completely comfortable eating dinner alone! I can’t recommend Cha Bella enough - come here to meet the friendliest people in Savannah and to have a mouth watering meal that you’ll remember!
Was an amazing menu and even better service by Amber. So glad we booked a reservation as they were fully booked the evening we had dinner. Delicious Farm to Table menu!!
Great food, great service. This is a must for anybody who loves great food......
Fantastic pork chop.
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Cha Bella last night. Every single thing we ordered from wine to appetizers to entrees into desserts and coffees it was all perfection. Our waitress, Madison, was also excellent. Knowledgeable, professional, personable and very attentive. We will definitely be back and recommend it to all of our friends.
The food was excellent with generous portions and Amber was delightful!
My wife and I were visiting Savannah and decided to try Cha Bella. We could not have enjoyed it more. Friendly, professional service and outstanding food.
Waiter was excellent with great suggestions
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to dine, fresh farm-to-table locally sourced food, a fabulous menu, and excellent service, make your reservation at Cha Bella!
Our waitress had extremely low energy. Maybe she was having a bad day, but she really wasn’t interested in being there. My dining companions enjoyed their meals more than I enjoyed mine.
Fantastic dining experience. Wonderful waiter, great ambience, absolutely delicious food!
This was our second time at Cha Bella. 10 years later food is still amazing and experience is great. Had filet and shrimp crab risotto both were delicious! Fresh made to order lemonade was so good.
Will definitely return again on another trip to Savannah!
A great location for a date or a group of friends where you can enjoy very good food and relaxed conversation.
Our server was so excellent! You could tell he really enjoys the food and he recommended the hog chop which was the best I have ever had - and wasn’t on my radar so glad for the spot on guidance to the menu.
Also enjoyed the gnocchi appetizer YUM!
The food was delicious!
It was a very expensive Ribeye and they served it cold and cut up.
We had an amazing experience at Cha Bella! The food was some of the best we’ve had anywhere. Our server was wonderful. A true gem not to be missed!!
This place is in a residential area so not on the strip but oh so worth the walk. Great place, great service and the food is beyond tasty. You won’t be disappointed!
Wonderful experience at Cha Bella! Our server, Ree was wonderful. Super accommodating and lovely temperament. Boho-chic vibe with great music and excellent food and a relaxing vibe. Definitely recommend!
Terrific food, staff did a great job with recommendations and a nice variety of options for both food and drink.
What a great dinning experience! The food was fantastic. Great, relaxing ambiance and on point service by Edward. We started with the Scallop appetizer. Perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful scallops (very fresh). The bacon and the crispy topping was amazing. My date and I agreed, that these could be the best scallops we’ve had in Savannah so far in our restaurant tour. For mains we had the Filet Beef and the White Shrimp Risotto. Both were excellent! The risotto’s rice was cooked well (al dente) and the sauce was delicious. This was the best steak we’ve had in a long time. The side of potatoes a’gratin was to die for! topped with quality cheese. We finished our meal with a seasonal creme brûlée made from pumpkin and cinnamon. Everything was amazing! Our first dinner here, and definitely won’t be the last. This place has climbed up to our top three in town (and we are locals).
A beautiful place, the service was warm and friendly, we asked for suggestions from the menu and were so glad we did. It made for a wonderful anniversary dinner
First impression..Hostess was wearing a sport team sweatshirt. Second..the restaurant had a huge party that was very loud. They offered to move us outside because they knew it was obnoxious. The meal was AMAZING! We had the seared scallops appetizer, they were a little salty but still delicious. I got the Ribeye and my wife had the prosciutto wrapped chicken. Both exceeded our expectations. Reed was our server and was phenomenal! Overall great meal. We’d definitely go back and hope it’s a little more quiet and romantic.
Delicious food. The wild mushroom gnocchi was exceptional!
This place is a great little spot. Walking distance from our hotel.. quiet intimate dining. If you want to rush and eat I would not recommend. We spent a leisurely dinner with no rush to turn the table. Service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. We may go back before we leave the city!
Nice ambience. Spacious attractive patio. We had shrimp and crab risotto and scallop appetizer. Both were delicious. A very nice dinner a little less pricier than some Savannah restaurants. S
Service was prompt and cordial. I recommend!
Wonderful anniversary dinner! Very high quality food, and our server - Reed - was so pleasant and thoughtful. I combined sides for a vegetarian entree, and the polenta/veggie/mushroom dish I got was excellent. The key lime pie was fresh and homemade, drinks were excellent as well. The ambience outside was a little spare, but the patio is is a really pleasant space, hidden from the road. Inside, the decor is more lush and has a great mood too it, excellent for a romantic dinner. Great night!!
Service was excellent food was exceptional sitting outdoors gave romantic ambience. Lose the wall projections though.
