C'est Si Bon! Bistro+Vins
Wed–Sat 5:00 pm–9:00 pm
After a slightly shaky start getting seated, we had delicious food and a delightful evening.
This is likely my favorite dining place- anywhere. Do yourself a favor and just ask John (owner and greeter/server) what to eat and taste of wine. The food is amazing, as is the service. The place is fairly small, so tough to accommodate larger groups- and highly recommend reservations as it is usually full.
We took my sister because we love this place! John does a fabulous job. The food is always great as is the service.
Typical high standard of service and cuisine was experienced last night. As usual, I had the five course tasting option. The organic sweet potato soup starter was, as usual, a dining highlight as was the main entree ,braised rabbit on a pasta bed accompanied by a delicious, stuffing-like bread pudding. The signature lemon-filled, substantial crepe was an apt conclusion to a wonderful meal, a sentiment shared by my guest, who also vowed to return. Restaurant owner and all staff are committed to helping provide patrons with an outstanding night out.
I never knew this wonderful hide-a-way of a restaurant was so conveniently located. The food was assembled to be visually beautiful. The sea scallops with arugula and pomegranate seeds was a taste treat and the halibut atop baby lentils and black garlic sauce was tender and flavorful. The wine selections our server recommended were excellent. A very pleasant experience and an unforgettable dinner.
I'd been telling my son about this place and promised we'd go there the next time he was in town. It's such a cozy little restaurant. We both had excellent meals. He chose the duck and I had the halibut and both were perfect. We had the creme brûlée for dessert and it was flavorful and not too sweet. I definitely will be back.
Can’t say enough how good our dinner was to include great service and intimate venue.
This is exactly what a Bistro should be. Great food, wine, and service, but informal. There is a good wine selection, full a la cart menu, and a multi-course fixed-price dinner option. It is easy to understand why this place is popular and booking is essential, even midweek.
Some of the restaurants defining characteristics relate to its people-centric management and warm, friendly staff. One always feels very welcome. The wine list is always interesting. Yesterday I enjoyed the fixed price “tasting menu (a bargain at $50, wine pairing less than $30 additional). All courses are full plate, featuring fresh local produce. The chefs routinely transform familiar dishes into culinary art forms, with rich natural flavors. The seasonal soup as starter, featured a delectable blend of 4 wild mushroom species, my only regret being that I wish the bowl had been bottomless. The lettuce salad was crisp and doused in a wonderful dressing. One of the 2 served appetizers was a delicious creamy. risotto The duck leg entree option lived up to high expectations, as did the signature lemon-filled crepes that concluded a memorable dining experience.
John the owner is the consummate host and a superb sommelier. Leave your wine choices to him and you won’t be disappointed. Yum!
The food is stellar. Lovely examples of classic French cooking, well prepared and presented. Paired with the excellent and fairly priced wine list the dining experience is top flight and a real value.
We went to C'est Si Bon for a girls night out. It was fabulous all around. We will make it our go -to place.
Wonderful experience at C’est Si Bob! First time visitor to Portland, we truly enjoyed this dinner. The owner is very friendly and wonderful to visit with. Reservations are a must—we requested to sit at the bar top in our reservation. Great place, amazing food, and good wine!!
This was our fifth or sixth visit and each has been fantastic. The service could not be better or more personal. The food was delicious as always. Can't wait for next time!
Excellent menu, venue and food. Will definitely return.
Charming, cozy, excellent food with a French flair, and a wide-ranging (but predominently French) wine list at good prices. Dynamic host is personable and engaging. It’s the embodiment of a French neighbor oof bistro.
The food was exquisite. John the owner was gracious, attentive and very generous. It is one of the best fining experiences in Portland. From the cheese “Bon Bons”, to the wild mushroom bisque, the sweet potato gnocchi, the coq au vin and finally Meyer lemon crepe and creme brûlée every dish was amazing!!!
We will be back.
My son and daughter in law took us here the first time and we have been coming back ever since. John runs a terrific bistro - food and wine selections are outstanding. We love the personalized service and the lovely compact atmosphere.
Always wonderful Been there 6 or 7 times now and it is my go to with out of town friends.
Food was terrific. John, the owner, was a gracious and attentive host. We let him steer the wine pairings, and they were completely on point. Fantastic little bistro.
We loved every moment of our dinner from the food to the service. We cannot wait to return!
Great hosts and intimate experience with great food
Everything was great but being 6'3" the tables and leg room were tight to say the least. Could stand to take a table out. Bit other than food was magnificent and the service friendly
Wonderful service, wonderful food and great wine. A gem for sure!
This is a very lovely and unique restaurant - the food is amazing, the wine list is stunning, the prices are very, very reasonable. It is a small and intimate restaurant - the proprietor is an active participant in every detail. Every time we go, we ask John to advise us on our food choices and he chooses the wines for each course. His knowledge about wine is unparalleled. Take a trip to an intimate bistro in France - try
C'est Si Bon! Bistro+Vins
Loved our dinner. The wine selection was quite good. Our host John (French speaker) was delightful!
Wonderful dinner, wine, and staff. Will come back again, for sure.
Once again we are so happy with the food and the amazing service, John, the owner gives to us! We feel like we’re in France. The food is rich in taste, but not heavy. We leave feeling satisfied. We celebrated our sons 21st Birthday and he couldn’t have been more pleased!! From the apps to the entrees and the amazing Lemon Crepe for dessert, we loved every minute of our experience at this rare gem! Thank you so much John!
Very cosy. amazing food with personalized service from the owner John. Loved it
We love this place!
While the menu is limited, everything we ordered was very good - duck, osso buco, gnocchi, scallop appetizer, butter lettuce salad, and creme brûlée.
My husband and I enjoy this restaurant immensely. The owner is very attentive along with the wait staff. The chef is outstanding. This is a great place and I would recommend this to anyone.

Great little French Bistro - super host. Incredible wines. Loved the duck confit and lamb.. delicious Meyer lemon crepe with raspberry coulis. Don’t miss it!
Portland’s best restaurant. Fine imaginative cuisine; excellent wine selection; thoughtful service.
I chose the 5 course fixe price menu ($50). Optional wine pairing is $28. My only complaint about the scrumptious pumpkin soup starter was that it’s impolite to lick the bowl clean. The lettuce salad garnished with a light creamy dressing and hazelnuts was also memorable.
A scallop appetizer prepared my palate for the main course, slightly crispy duck leg atop somewhat earthy mashed potato.
No meal here is complete without a signature crepe, in this instance a lemon dessert masterpiece.
A wonderful meal, as usual.
The food was top-notch. Every dish we had from appetizer to desser was delicious. I’m still thinking back to that duck confit and how it was both so crispy and soft. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
If you haven’t been here, you need to go. Amazing food and incredible service!
Just follow John s recommandations for wine and the night will be memorable
