This was our first time in this restaurant, but certainly won’t be the last .
Loved the ambiance, the staff friendliness, and loved seasonal, ingredient driven menu. Scallops were out of this world good!
Amazing dining experience...Food was excellent, service very friendly and attentive...Panayotis the manager was very accommodating and pleasant...We will definitely be coming back
Food was exceptional, Service was impeccable!
Great spot for some real hearty Italian food!
All I can say is that Cesca has the best duck in the business - LITERALLY THE BEST DUCK!
The worst Over 90 mins for food Food inedible Will never go back
Food was good, not spectacular, pasta varied. The amatriciana lacked salt and flavor, and more importantly, guanciale. The mushroom ravioli was delicious, if a bit heavy. The lobster risotto was superb. The bruschetta was supposedly come with marinated white anchovies, which work well with ricotta. They must have run out, because instead they used salted/tinned anchovies- not at all the same thing, and does not work. Really they should alert people if they don’t have an item. Ambiance is nice, and although our waiter was lovely, he literally disappeared midway through the meal and was never seen again. The waits were far too long, and one appetizer arrived 15 minutes after the first three were delivered to our table of four. One pasta delivered was wrong one, but they replaced quickly. Desserts were excellent. All in all, good, but very expensive for overall quality.
Recommend noise treatment in the bar area if you’re going to seat people there
Was great to go back after 17 years
Just plain good
Service was rushed. It was obvious there was no personal touch to service. A robot might have been more human. Food very good.
Botched food. No bueno. Cesca :(
Excellent service and our meals were delicious! The manager ran the restaurant like clockwork. Most people had theater tickets and had short amount of time to have their meal. Highly recommended!
Waiter was inattentive and rude. Food mediocre at best
I loved the food and especially while sitting on the bar waiting for the dishes we were spoilt by the bartender with free beers. So cool. I guess we’ll be there more soon
we were so pleasantly surprised with the food and ambiance. beautiful restaurant and nice servers!
Linguine pasta w clams. Had no clams in the shell. Cocktail was not good. Overpriced
Great spot on the upper west. It's a just a tad expensive but I've never had a bad meal there and the service is always polite and attentive. I wish it were 10% cheaper.
We had the Sunday lobster dinner special which is a three course meal. The lobster bisque, the steamed lobster and tiramisu were so good, really delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and the dessert had a large sparkler in it which was a spectacular sight. It was a delightful evening. Our waiter was very good and attentive and ensured our wine glasses were filled. Thank you Cesca for lovely time.
Excellent food and attentive service in an attractive room with great atmosphere.
Service was great. Appetizers: Octopus, arugula salad, cauliflower was excellent. Entre: Scallops, Halibut, Bolognese was good. Bucatini was a bit bland.
Always a great place before or after a show at the Beacon or Lincoln Center. Pretty space, great cocktails and wine list and food and service are always very good. They have a new prixe fixe dinner that is an amazing deal because its the regular portion sizes. Always one of our go to places in the area.
As usual, a lovely dinner with great service. I truly enjoy dining here.
Great ambiance, feels cozy and the service is excellent. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
The food is good although, my friend complained that her drink could be stronger:) The noise level is pretty high but not to the point where you can't carry a conversation.
All together, pretty positive experience.
The food and the service were excellent. 1 block from the Beacon makes it my new go to before a show. There are pubs to choose from but I enjoyed this much more!
Doesn't skip a beat. My wife and I have been coming here on and off for years. Haven't been for a while and was disappinted not to see the Veal Chop on the menu but the Pork chop more than made up for it. The tasting menu was a great value. Just a really, really good place.
A really pleasant experience. We had dinner there before and so we were happy repeaters
I must say, the service and experience was incredible. Very friendly and attentive staff.
We have eaten at 'Cesca four times in the last two months. I just enjoy the dinners there. The food is perfect and the service is excellent. It does make for a delightful evening. Rosanne Stein
Very very expensive for what it is.
I had heard Cesca wasn’t too good anymore but wanted to try it. It seems like portions got smaller and prices went up. The vibe is pretty generic and wine pour is stingy for price. Too bad, upper west side desperately needs some solid, cool restaurants.
We were four people and each one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Standouts were the crispy cauliflower and each of the fish dishes, the seared tuna and steamed bronzino. We will be back!
Great meal and value. Ate off of the Chef's Table menu and the portions were much greater than a normal tasting.
Very nice place and so convenient when going to the Beacon. Food was very good but service just okay. On the website there is a pre theatre menu listed that says it is available from 4:30-6:30 with details of food but no prices. When I got there at 6 and asked for that menu the waiter asked if I had a voucher. I had no idea what he was talking about. He brought me the menu after I asked for it which again had no prices on it. I asked how much this menu was and was told it is only for take out orders. I dont think he had a clue what was going on and I found this very misleading of the restaurant to list it as an offering.
Have been to Cesca in the past and was not pleased at this visit. The greeting upon entry was wonderful and had expectations that the evening would be the same. Unfortunately this was not so. The place seemed to be overwhelmed by the large group about to attend a concernt nearby. Our waitress seemed totally uninterested and unattententive. Items that were requested for dinner were not on the plate. For example - the fish to be cooked through. The portions were quite small, especially for the prices. Will think twice about returning.
Service was slow ordered 2 drinks only 1 was served was told the bar was backed up
How can you deliver half the order canceled the second drink
Very nice space and pleasant servers. But waited 50 minutes at about 1:15 for an omelette and fried eggs that were not very good. Unlikely to go back
Our meal took a long time to reach our table. We did not complain or ask why.Out of nowhere the owner comes to our table and buys us a $70.00 bottle of wine because of the delay. The restaurant was full and a 150 people must have been there yet he was aware what was going on at every table. The food is very good and the owner is hands on.Cesca will become our neighborhood Italian restaurant because they treat you like family.
Very pleasant place to go on upper west side. Lots of people, but not too crowded. Great atmoshpere.
Food was good, not the best, but very good. Nice adult evening.
Best Branzino I've ever had. Service was attentive to how we wanted to take our time -- greatly appreciated!
Excellent food and lovely staff. The tasting menu was the best value and very good choices with exception of the Bolognese which gave my husband stomach troubles all evening generally happens when dried garlic and onion are used in dishes but can’t believe a place like this wouldn’t use the fresh ingredients so not sure of the source. Perfect location if you’re going to the beacon theater around the corner, Would go back.
Great food, service and ambiance. Just delightful.
