'Cesca Ratings and Reviews
Loved girls night out! Had half priced beverages at the bar for Happy Hour which led to dinner in the Private Dining Room...very cool. Scallops were amazing. My friends were raving about their Ravioli and Halibut. Splitting desserts was perfecto! Will be visiting again soon.
Met up with some friends for dinner but enjoyed some pre-game action at the bar. Bar menu has some good selections. We shared a few tapas before dinner. Calamari, Cauliflower Poppers and Fries, all a hit. Dinner was clean, guys all stuck to classic meat and potatoes dinners while I devoured my halibut (rare). Every man for himself on desserts. They seemed to agree this was a contender for Monday nights. Models, drinks, and meat.
College Roommate visiting from CA - wanted to eat clean and light. 'Cesca was the perfect choice. They offer fresh fish of which we enjoyed the salmon with lentils and the branzino with grilled beefsteak tomatoes in an Olivetto. Perfect! I would highly recommend as their service, attention to detail and food selection were wonderful. Thanks 'Cesca!
Enjoyed our usual meal...Cauliflower Fritti, Veal Chop, Branzino with spinach and roasted tomatoes, cheesecake and royal chocolate log. The atmosphere is quite alive now. The restaurant is brighter, more bodies on the floor to serve, food has extra flavor, drinks overflowing. Quite an improvement from previous management.
Another fun date night in the book! The wait for a table was a bit longer than we expected but we enjoyed the buzz of the bar area. Our waitress was informative and quick to serve which was a nice change. Our food was delivered promptly. My husband enjoyed his steak tagliatelle and I couldn't get enough of the mushroom ravioli. Large portions equals left overs for breakfast! Thanks Cesca!
I heard there was a new chef so of course I needed to come and see for myself. Am I glad I did! His food is delectable and my party and I were all pleased with our selections. It was rather crowded, overcrowded if you ask me, but the service was very attentive to all their tables. I enjoyed watching all the activity in the open kitchen. Waiting for a table was the worst part. If you decide to visit, you MUST try the scallops with truffle oil. I promise you will not be disappointed.
When the wife is craving Italian you run. This place had a fantastic menu full of classic favorites with a spin. The server was quite informative giving us the scoop on the new owners and all the changes. Place was just as good as we remembered, if not better. She wants to come again, we come again.
Stopped in for a quick bite and the place was very, very busy! The decor was seasonal and festive. The food was absolute perfection. The Salmon was cooked just the way I like it and my wife enjoyed her Steak. Service was attentive, desserts were delicious. Wine list, excessive for those who enjoy them.
We have been to this restaurant many times and have generally been pleased. However, on this occasion, everything went wrong, starting with a delayed table, followed by slow and inconsistent service. (we could not order 9 oysters but had to order either 6 or 12; Moscato desert wine was not available and the substitute proposed was undrinkable)
The veal Milanese was out if this world. Service was very good. Hostess was a rockstar and handled some tough guests and a lousy situation like a champ. I own restaurants and could rock my door any time. Well done, sorry I didn't get your name. Curly hair early 20s. Well done
Busy Friday night. Crowded neighborhood place that gets crowds before & after Beacon Theater shows. Burrata with tomatoes was good. Tagliatelle w/ bolognese was woefully under seasoned/no salt. Spinach ravioli just missed - again, under seasoned and a bit bland. Slowish service was understandable because it was a given on a crowded Friday that the kitchen was in the weeds and the wait staff were stretched. Overall a 5 out of 10.
We have been big fans of Cesca for awhile now, but were very disappointed last night. We had to wait over an hour past our reservation time before being seated. One of us ordered the steak medium rare and it came back well-done. We sent it back and then it came back rare. The tagliatelle Bolognese and the duck were good. I likely will not return.
Place was really busy so we had to wait for our table, but well worth it! Everything was perfect, including the proposal. This has been our spot since the beginning of us and through every transition, it just keeps getting better. New owners visited our table with "fireworks" and complimentary champagne. Truly beautiful night in a fantastic place.
Loved the restaurant. Beautifully decor. Great feeling of space when you walk in. Nice amount of room between tables. My only complaint was that we felt rushed. Several different people came to remove both our apps and main dishes before we were finished. I wound up just holding my fork as a signal that we were STILL EATING! And the second I put it down when we were actually finished, whoosh, those plates were gone. We ate early and I get it that they want to turn over the table but this was excessive. Otherwise, a good experience and we’ll go back.
Why fix something that isn't broken? The restaurant has always had a subtle feel to it; tables had tablecloths; wall colors were subtle and elegant. Lights were dim, sort of sultry.
NOT ANYMORE. From entering at the host station - bright white walls abound along with bright white lights. Open kitchen feels the same and is terrific., the dining room, not so much. Too much feeling of dead space which creates cold atmosphere.
Food was terrific; Service OK;I had come here fairly often but I'm not so sure about bringing guests if the decor remains the same.
