My third time dinning at Cesca
This time I brought my family and they were so happy I picked this place
food was Delicious , the service exceptional even though our waiter seemed to be overwhelmed with many tables he still managed to check up on us to make sure we were doing fine to me that just means a lot ..
Our food came out on perfect timing we enjoyed the juicy pork porter house and the lovely mushroom ravioli And the bolognese pasta . If you’re looking for quality cesca is the place to go
Very quiet room for a late lunch for 2 . Only one other table was occupied. First there was a mix up with menus - we were each given different ones. Finally straightened it out and ordered . We had the baby kale Caesar which was good and freshly brewed delish lemon ice teas. It then took 3 times to get the salmon cooked as we had ordered it. Everyone was accommodating but seemed not to understand. My companion was very disappointed as she had eaten there many times and gave it a high recommendation. I was only happy that I had not planned to return to the office as the meal took over 2 hours.
outstanding food and service! especially enjoyed the salmon and the scallops! highly recommend.
I am glad that we came to Cesca.
Great energy and amazing food.
Great drinks and service.
We will definitely be back soon.
Thanks so much guys!
What a wonderful experience we had. Highly recommend the lamp chops and the tiramisu! Can’t wait to go back and taste whatever else Cesca has to offer
Cesca never disappoints me...everything was beautiful...Excellent dining experience...
Amazing food ! amazing team ! And an amazing place ! well i’ll comeback for sure.
I’m travelling solo this time but it’s the perfect spot for a couple really sophisticated and cosy i love it and i’ll comeback with my gf can’t wait to test everything on the menue and some more italian whine 👌
I’m so happy We didn’t go for what the reviews say about this restaurant the food is delicious the service perfect what else can U possibly ask for .
We were 4 people on a quiet Tuesday night and we were on a brief business meeting , our waiter was very professional he noticed we were talking a lot and he never interrupted us ,he took our order and always kept an eye on us .. my colleagues were very happy we ordered lamb chops which by the way were cooked to perfection
My other colleagues ordered the Branzino and the pasta with clams everything was perfect ..I guess we have a new spot
We had an amazing meal.
Delicious Dinner...Amazing Cocktails...Impeccable service...
When I first got it into Cesca I was very thrilled by the smell I knew at once I was expecting great food. My girl and I were sat at the back room which it was packed another good signal that I did the right choice of going there... David took care of us He was very nice and with a great sense of humor... We ordered a bottle of Nebbiolo (outstanding) then we went hard on food: Caesar Lancinato salad, tortelli ai fungi to share, Becky had the Salmon and I had the bistecca...everything was delicious, well cooked, well presented and very filling.. we couldn’t be more satisfied but in our way out the manager kindly gave us some cookies for the road.. that definitely stole our hearts... you know that full belly happy heart... I highly recommend this NYC landmark .
beautiful and elegant place, very good food, good energy, I will definitely come back!
Ate and drank at the bar. Bartender suggested great wine the new color scheme os also a positiy
Great experience...Cesca is top notch
Been going to 'Cesca for years. Almost always have a very good dining experience. Went there this past Friday night however, which happened to be Valentine's Day. We specifically inquired before hand whether the regular a la carte menu would be available and were told that it would. That was not the case however and the menu was only prix fixe at $85 per person. The manager did graciously acknowledge the restaurant's mistake and accommodated us as best they were able, although the food choices were very limited. We will return as the food is always good and the wait staff always professional and pleasant, but our recent experience was far less than ideal.
The owner was the most awful
Human being. We called the night before and told on Valentine’s Day we didn’t have to have the prize fixed menu which we didn’t want as there were nicer items on the regular menu. When we got there we were told that wasn’t true they made a mistake. Then the entree item I chose from the menu they said they were out of at 7pm. When the owner came over she said I could have the steak and when I said I was generally confused and why was I told they were out. She was very nasty even though she was saying we could have what we want her manner was deplorable.
WOW! Before setting foot inside this well-loved Italian institution in the Upper West Side, know that you should save room for their desserts—imagine tiramisu or a scoop of their daily sorbet. This is an important starting point, because there are a number of other wonderful dishes vying for your attention along the way. Regional specialties include the iconic bucatini all’amatriciana, made with guanciale—the authentic way(I’d know, I’m from Rome!!). Many also come here for the incredible wine list, which includes everything from Hewitt Vineyard’s prestigious Cabernet Sauvignon to Planeta’s award-winning Cometa. Service is professional yet charming, and the elegant décor inspires dressing up for dinner. Ultimately, Cesca proves to be a dining staple in New York City. It was a pleasure to visit!
Excellent...Great food, superb service...Will be back for sure
I had an amazing dinner at Cesca with my two friends. It was my first time dining there, but it will not be my last! The food was prepared to perfection, and the service was fantastic! My waitress was both, friendly and helpful and very experienced in hospitality industry! She took great care of us! The interior is beautiful, and you can actually have conversation without screaming. If you are looking for exquisite Italian food, in a beautiful setting, with an extremely professional staff, then Cesca is the place you are looking for! Thank you Cesca!!
our waiter Louis was very professional he went above and beyond to make sure our experience at cesca was unforgettable We started with the burrata and coliflower then I had the lamb chops and my wife had the bisteca with truffle fries. Our glasses of water always full bread was on the table the moment we ordered our food we didn’t even have to say anything our waiter he orchestrated every thing to perfection I can’t wait to go back ooooh and don’t forget to try the lovely tiramisu best in town
Over-hyped, overpriced, decent food. Service was spotty and the room seemed understaffed and under-supervised this past Sunday evening at around 7:30 pm. But most of the problems center around the relationship between a) food/service and b) price. They are way, way out of line. Will I recommend this restaurant to my friends? No. Will we return? Probably not, but if we did it would be without enthusiasm.
A meal at 'Cesca is a bundle of contradictions. The restaurant is really pretty, and really cozy. I have only been there for brunch, but the food is delicious.
The service really leaves a lot to be desired. The wait staff, although friendly enough, are very confused and disorganized, forgetting requests and bringing the wrong orders too.
Nevertheless, I would return because the location, ambiance, and quality of the food are worth it.
Excellent food. Bar service was not the greatest but we survived lol. The table service was outstanding and the food was fabulous. Highly recommended!
Poor service and extremely over priced. Food was fine, but not worth the price and our waiter completely forgot about us on multiple occasions.
So glad we didn't go by what was on Yelp, fantastic dinner!
We were having dinner at Cesca before seeing Seinfeld at the Beacon. As such, we were on a tight timeframe. The wait staff paid no attention to that. The food was delicious, but it was hard work getting ourselves fit it in time for the show.
I like Cesca very much. I always enjoy coming to the restaurant. Staff is always very respectful and pleasant and accommodating.
We sat at 7:30 for a 9:30 show at the beacon (across the street). No entrees made it out. We left without dinner. There were 4-5 other tables in same situation. I normally give busy restaurants a lot of latitude. But come on!! How can that many tables not get food. Part of the issue was it took 20 min for a waiter to come to our table. Huge Bummer. Popcorn at the beacon saved the night.....
Terrible service. We sat for our reservation at 7:15 and didn’t receive our main course till after 9pm! We had 9:30 tickets to a show at the Beacon and left without finishing our main course. Extremely disappointing.
We had an awful experience and will never go back. I’ve dined with ‘Cesca multiple times before and had a phenomenal experience. However, tonight was very different. I found a hair in my food during the first course, and our entire main course was cold. We brought this to our waiter and the manages’ attention. In turn, they offered free dessert. This was an unacceptable consolation because the food was inedible. They tried to remake our order in a matter of 30 seconds. It was cold and inedible for a second time. I told the managers that free dessert would not suffice and we will not be paying for the food and going elsewhere for dinner. This was part of a 30th birthday present that I had planned months in advance. I’m sincerely disappointed with the service, food and how our situation was handled. We will never go back and warn others against dining here.
Fantastic service & excellent and authentic food!
So many better places on UWS. It felt like entire dinner came from Chef Boy Are Dee can... service was so stretched saw them last then 5 times over 2 hours.
It was really good
Disappointing especially for the price. Food was very delayed and then several dishes came out cold. Used to really enjoy Cesca but unlikely I will go back.
I would recommend but caution to not let the wait staff rush you through your dinner. I had my meal whisked out from under me with food on my plate just because my husband had left to use the restroom for 5 minutes and I didn't continue eating while he was gone. A polite "Are you finished?" was never asked. The food was great but we felt very rushed.
The appetizers were huge, I could have made a meal out of the grilled octopus app.
My steak was cooked to perfection and the accompanying truffle fries were fantastic.
Don't skip dessert, order the cheesecake!
Arrived for our 7:00 pm reservation to find the restaurant half empty on a Restaurant Week Friday night. Haven’t been here for quite a while and soon realized why the popularity of this nice spot has changed. I asked to check our coats and the response of the check in team was surprise stating many just put coat on back of seat. When did this place become a coffee shop? The service level was unprofessional with waiters and busboys stumbling on each other, wine lists that were out of date and food that was average and unmemorable.
Come on team, pick up your game. The west side needs a quality restaurant like this used to be,
Restaurant week. I ordered the beet salad and the salmon. The beet salad was tasteless. It was big hunks of beets and it was just fair the salmon was tasty but it sitting on vegetables that were overcooked and oily. I think it was celery but it was just bland. The waiters we’re good Attentive. And I believe the manager or owner came to the table and thanked me for coming which was a really nice touch. The disappointment was the food.
Clanging silverware in the background, long wait to get a cocktail, mediocre food...won’t be returning. Probably ok for a drink in the front bar. The back room is a downer.
Clam sauce with pasta had no flavor, few small, small clams. Fennel salad was good. But because my main dish was so below mediocre , I would NEVER go back for the food.
