Great brunch spot.
Really nice meal and service tonight. It is the second time in two weeks we have been and both experiences were great!!! They are really trying!!
Fantastic dining experience, close to Natural History Museum. Kid friendly dining options and chef's tasting menu with a nice wine selection. Dining areas can be curtained off for private parties. Highly recommend!
Ok food. Horrible service.
I was becoming a major fan of Cesca.
Within a 6 week period, I brought a a party of 7 followed by three dinners with friends.
We all liked it a lot... I wanted to introduce friendz o a " new find: for me.However the other night I was really disappointed I requested a quiet part of the restaurant. We were right in front of the bar in a draft
The noise level was horrible and I was really surprised that management didn't intervene in a tactful way. The service was spotty for the first time and our request for bread and butter fell on deaf ears.
My entre was disappounting ans needed more sauce....
They did apoligize but nir a fun evenung.
Great restaurant and around the corner from The Beacon Theatre so perfect for a pre concert meal. Prix fixed dinner $49 and they don't change portion size or quality and the desert with it was perfect. Bar is a great way to start. Decor is modern and clean but also feels a bit like home. service is very good. Moderately priced wine list. Very reasonable for NYC, particularly upper West side.
Beautiful place!! Food was amazing!! Staff terrific!!
Very good food. Nice ambience. Excellent service. A bit noisy
Tried based on a suggestion through Workadvantage/travel zoo. So glad I did. My husband and I had a great dinner. Restaurant is nicely decorated, busy but not noisy and tables not too close to each other. Joe was our waiter and paid attention to every detail. Definitely going back.
At this price point, had higher expectations. Website photos are misleading.
As always Cesca has an amazing DUCK dish! It was a little less food than usual, but still incredible to taste and I would rather have a slightly smaller portion with great quality anyway. We also had the halibut and literally was one of the best fish dishes we have ever had. Pasta is always good at Cesca as well. It can get crowded so the service is challenging (BUT our server was amazing and kept things moving as fast as he could). The bar is terrific and the setting is really nice. Definitely a place that you could have a nice party (there is a private room there). No, I don't work for Cesca but think that it deserves very high ratings!
The atmosphere is very townhouse feeling. Very busy and alive. Attentive wait staff. My Faroe island salmon was amazing. Hubby liked his steak. Burrata and seafood calamari was good too. Ended with yummy gelato.
A good pre-opera evening.
I just love ‘Cesca! An upper west side gem that has all the right vibes without any of the pretense. Service is great! Food consistently flavorful and the ambiance is always just right! The salmon egg Benedict with fresh greens and potatoes is truly a delight. Bloody mary´s - among the best I’ve had. A warm and welcoming place with great food! Highly recommended!
We were doing a 'catch up' brunch so needed some time to linger and enjoy. The staff was very responsive and patient. A lot of attention to our water glasses, I love that in a restaurant, thank you!
We could not get enough of 'Cesca last night! The music and vibe were great. The service was on point - and they were busy!! Our party enjoyed so many dishes...From the Faroe Island Salmon to the Risotto with Lobster. The Burratta, Octopus, Sesame Tuna... I'm still full! Dessert had a heavenly Chocolate Mousse and a delicious Apple Cake. We can't wait to go back!
Terrible! Service was slow and food was just ok.
Cesca is perfect for dinner before or after a show at the Beacon. We went before and it was bustling and filled with people but when we sat it became much calmer. Service was a little crazy as we were seated adjacent the bar. No issue with the table, it was actually cozy just the waiter had to muscle his way in at times to get to us. Everyone enjoyed the meals. The side of Brussel sprouts were amazing. Overall good experience.
I found the food to be lackluster, uninspired, and overcooked not to mention that the service was borderline abysmal. I should have canceled the reservation as soon as I saw the televisions airing various sports games at the bar. This is not the neighborhood gem or "casual elegant" restaurant that I was expecting, nor did I experience the "Italian-American cuisine that explodes with flavor and freshness," as described. I will not be returning. Perfect those with a bland palette.
Restaurant is very pretty, food fantastic and service outstanding. Our waiter Ergin was very accommodating to our requests and provided his service with a smile. Highly recommend this restaurant.
'Cesca is beautiful and quiet, which is great. But we were disappointed with the food and the service. Having really enjoyed the food in the past, it was rather surprising. So, for what we ordered, it was pricey.
$49 Sunday Lobster Dinner was great. Lots of food. $14 for a glass of NZ Sauvignon Blanc a bit pricy.
Still full from brunch this morning! The food was amazing. Our party enjoyed a variety of dishes - I had the mushroom ravioli. Oh, my, God. The ravioli was tender with a rich and creamy filling and a mushroom sauce that I let my husband use on his steak after he shared some with me. This place is top-notch! Beautiful atmosphere. Great service. Worth every penny!
Big shout out to Stephanie who kept our table flowing flawlessly. Next to bar in corner. Easy to be forgotten. Bar patron a little loud but after she left quieted down. Food was excellent except the yogurt Verne brûlée but did not charge. All in all very surprised since last tried met with mixed reviews. Live in area so will go back.
They forgot to refill our water glasses and the place we were seated at was really hot!! They forgot to bring out my birthday cake and then they had no idea where it was! They did not even remember our deserts that we had ordered. We ended up having to leave because we were going to miss the show and even getting the bill took a long time!! Not a nice experience. I will not likely return.
Our first visit to 'Cesca. Interesting food, good service, and ambience - which was unfortunately marred by the incessant playing of Motown - which is appropriate for a pizzeria, not a white tablecloth restaurant. None of the other restuarants that we frequent on the UWS at this level - Bar Boulud, Atlantic Grill, etc. play music.
This used to be a wonderful restaurant. Don’t know if ownership has changed, but the food is appalling and ridiculously overpriced for what you get. It’s decor has changed and is now over right and uninviting. Waiter was very friendly, but the value is nil.
Thx. Good food. Nice staff
Very pleasant meal. Tables are well spaced and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Our dinner was great - the only jarring element in a fine Italian meal was the puzzling choice of what seemed to be grocery store bread.
Extremely civilized but not stuffy service. Attentive but not hovering. Excellent food. Of special note, the burrata appetizer! But really, each course was fine dining. We came with a TravelZoo voucher which made the evening's fare--3 courses and a bottle of wine--incredibly affordable. On the other hand, I'd recommend going, even without a "deal."
service was first rate. I had the three course tasting menu and all was good (it got me a free dessert. ). We all enjoyed our food and the ability to speak across the table with no issues hearing. Will return!
This was our first time there BUT it won’t be our last ! Great ambiance, great food, priced fairly; overall, can’t wzit to go back!
Lovely New Year's Eve. Good food, music, and champagne. Worth every cent.
Excellent service and exceptional food on New Year's Eve. Great buy for the money. We will return.
Not was very good. The place was very crowded and the service very bad. We was waited long time for dinner.
Food is not great, wouldn’t go back again!
Service was okay but certainly not worth the money. Overpriced for low quality food.
My friend and I had a lovely pre-NYE holiday dinner. Beautiful atmosphere. Food was excellent, but our waiter had a bit of an attitude and not very attentive. His lack was made up by the female bus persona and the manager who was lovely. I would definitely go back.
New Year’s Eve
We went for the lobster fest. Each of the three courses were delicious and each portion was large. We had the lobster bisque that had the right consistency, not too heavy and not too light. The steamed lobster was about a 1 1/2 pounds and was served with a baked potato and corn. One of us had the chocolate mousse that was a light cake and the other had tiramisu both of which were delicious. The three course meal was $49 each which was a great value. Our wine was also very good.
I took my wife and son there ..
Not really happy with the service or the food
I ordered lamp and I guess it comes with plastic as a side dish.
I didn't wanna say anything to the manager
is the holidays !!
didn't wanna get anyone in trouble.
But that's how we learn.
No next time !
We took advantage of a travel zoo certificate, and the menu options were excellent. Great service, good food...
