Your manager (from Naples?) was sensational, made me and my guests feel like we were regulars, although we were not: But we probably will become regulars thanks to your high level hospitality and delicious food.
One tiny thing about your survey? I could not figure out if sound level (it was wonderfully quiet where we were) is BETTER with a larger rectangle, or if it should have been the smaller one for LOWER sound!
Thanks, Eugene Kohn
Portions were small and prices high.
Place was quiet yet they tried to seat us next to the serving station.
Was recommended by a friend and unfortunately disappointed.
The charm is still very evident in the details.
The server was attentive to our needs.
The halibut was delicate and tasty at the same time.
Thourhly enjoyable even though we had to wait to be seated as per
our 8PM reservation.
Back room has zero ambience. Energetic noise level. Food was delicious albeit a bit pricey. Good for groups.
SUPERB FOOD & SERVICE!!!!!! .... act quickly, it does get crowded (AS IT SHOULD!!!)
They are extremely overbooked. Not a very pleasant experience.
The ambiance was awful. There are too many tables packed together and there are too few bathrooms for the restaurant. The line for the bathrrom was endless and went far into the restaurant and was distracting to having a pleasant meal. Also portion size was small for the price.
The service however was pleasant and accomodating.
We have been there several times before and this was disappointing. The renovation has cramped the restaurant.
Very very slow service. Waited over an hour for main course. Wait staff indifferent.
Service was so slow. Arrived promptly for 5:30 reservation. Service was so slow, we left befor our deserts came out. Despite telling our server we had 7PM tickets to a show, we had to get up and leave. Barely an apology.
Service was great.... tuna was cold and disappointed
Always enjoy our dinners with friends at this lovely restaurant.
Food and service was good. Atmosphere is a little dated. you made the bar too bright!
Went for Restaurant Week and had a great meal. Lovely place, wonderful atmosphere. Service was disappointing; our waiter was totally not engaged, never asked if we were enjoying dinner, never asked if we wanted coffee with dessert, etc. Too bad. Otherwise, very good!
'Cesca feels very much like a place that stays in business from the pre-show dinner crowd at Beacon Theatre. Accordingly, they have a guaranteed customer base and don't particularly seem concerned with cultivating repeat business. I, for one, will not be returning after my latest experience there.
Apparently several servers called in sick and there was almost no coverage - managers were pitching in to take orders but they were way out over their skis. It took us over 40 minutes to get our entree, and we had to leave before dessert came to make our show.
The front space was loud and cramped, and we were not allowed to sit in the rear dining room despite multiple empty tables.
Perhaps different circumstances would lend to a positive experience here, but that was not the case on the night we visited. I would advise calling in advance to ask if they are fully staffed before committing to eating here for dinner - at the prices they charge, the service should be excellent, not Fawlty Towers-esque.
'Cesca is a fantastic addition to the UWS. We loved beautiful ambiance and decor -- it enhanced every aspect of our experience. The salmon dish was perfectly prepared and paired with a delicious white wine. My husband enjoyed every bite of his ossobucco, it literally fell off the bone. We shared the most amazing chocolate mousse and can't wait for our next visit!
Good wines 🍷🍷🍷
I very often bring friends to C'esca. The menu is wide and varied. The staff are terrific. There is a new manager, Antonio, and he is super friendly. The bar scene looks like fun but I am always asking for a quiet table when I reserve and I get that.
Sat us at back table unnecessarily. Service not as expected. Food has gone downhill.
Everything was absolutely delicious and we loved our waitress, I wish I remembered her name, but she was so attentive. Her poise added to the ambiance of the elegant restaurant. Loved it.
Really cozy & elegant with fresh choices
The food was very good. The waiter shamed us for not wanting a $150 bottle of wine. In general, it was overpriced for the menu. Our waiter was terrible. The management seemed much better but we won’t be returning.
This is my 4th visit to Cesca since it was renovated. It’s very attractive and a very good place, but AGAIN I have to say that the EXIT SIGN AND THE OPEN ENTRANCE TO THE back, which I assume is the kitchen
is hideous. At Gennaros they have a partition covering this area. You might want to think of that or curtains.
We were brought a pathetic little basket of bread, 2 little torn pieces, and when we said something to the waiter, I think he realized he was dealing with serious eaters, because he brought back a generous warm portion of bread.
The food was very good, the service was great, except for dessert when you got so busy, that we waited 30 minutes for this tiny little dessert.
You were very accommodating about gluten free diet...this made my husband very happy.
I hope you continue this way, because we only live 6 blocks away and would like to come regularly.
Has a good selection of prefix lunch menu for restaurant week '19. We were seated in a nice and quiet corner. The waiter/waitress were knowlegable about the food/wine suggestions. My friend and I were offered free wine taste of a rosé , a white and a red while we couldn't make a decision. We each eventually picked a glass of wine after the free tasting. I enjoyed my first experience there and I will come here again.
High end neighborhood place. Good energy and excellent food.
We returned here after several years - always enjoyed the food.
The food remains good, but we dealt with disinterested wait staff, which we had to summon several times to get attention. Very disappointing...
There was an error on the bill which was corrected but the fish dish was very dry
Delicious meal and excellent service. Very enjoyable.
The food, service and ambience were all terrific! We’ll be back.
It was a terrific RW menu. The service was outstanding. It was really pleasant not crowded or noisy. I guess that’s what u get on an early Monday dinner. We loved the ravioli and the cheesecake desert was terrific.
It was a busy Sunday night with many diners partaking in the restaurant week dinner. The service was a bit slower than usual with the manager helping in taking our orders. The food was delicious so it made up for any slowness. The dining room is very nice and all in all we enjoyed our dining experience.
Brunch was fabulous! The food was superb and service was stellar. Always have a wonderful experience here.
Came on a Saturday evening to treat an out of town guest. We were promptly seated in the back room. It was noisy with no need to play music. The lack of placemats or tablecloths adds to the noise level. The wine glasses on the table were dirty and were glad they were taken away. I ordered a premium Manhattan. The drink was warm, glass dirty as it were served, tried and sent back. Instead of tossing, they saved it to serve to me.
The food was good, really enjoyed the fried calamari, but not exceptional to want to go back.
I thought 'Cesca was excellent. Great food and service with close proximity to the Beacon Theater. We will be back.
I came here with my dearest sweetpea on a random date night. The place was good. The appetizers were amazing. The main courses were a little bland. We ordered the mushroom toretelli and the seared tuna and there just wasn't much taste to either of them. They weren't bad, they just were blah.
Overall, since the apps were so good, the place is probably worth a visit. I don't regret going once, but their prices make it to where I likely won't bother going back a 2nd time as I don't think the quality matched the price ($34 for tuna and $29 for toretelli, both of which were blah).
Service was amazing. Very attentive and courteous. Quality wines. The food was well balanced and delicious. Will definitely come back again.
Food very good. Too expensive and too noisy. Service was fine.
Waiter was great. Seated us at a table that faced the back of the kitchen. We were moved to a nicer table but you ought to cover the EXIT SIGN IN BACK OF KITCHEN. Very ugly and the place is so pretty. The food was very good.
It was a lovely evening at Cesca, I highly recommend it, great value for NYC restaurant week!
Great brunch spot.
Really nice meal and service tonight. It is the second time in two weeks we have been and both experiences were great!!! They are really trying!!
