    The food was wonderful but what really made the evening special was the service. Our waiter Thomas H. couldn’t have been more helpful or charming. We also had another young man helping our table but I missed getting his name. Finally, Iris went above and beyond in making sure our evening was perfect. Kudos to the cooking staff for a delicious meal (do NOT miss having the tiramisu to cap off your dinner!).

    The sliced “gluten free” bread they offered was simply store bought bread and not good at all. Pasta was amazing

    Absolutely fantastic experience! The pasta, antipasta, cocktails, and dessert were yummy and amazing. Assistant Manager Iris and waiter Megan were warm and kind and made me feel like family. The ambiance is brilliant, too. As a frequent traveler and dedicated foodie, I highly encourage you to add Cesarina to the top of your list when you're in San Diego.

    I am fortunate that I have been to Cesarina a few times now. The food is always outstanding. If you are looking for fresh, homemade pasta with mouth watering sauce then Cesarina is your spot. This time the service was subpar. Our first experience at Cesarina we had an outstanding server that took time with us to build a rapport, told us the history of the restaurant, and gave wonderful recommendations. This time the service was impersonal, slow, and average.

    We ordered the Cesarina salad with octopus, caprese with prosciutto and penne with bolognese. All was good. Everything needed a little more salad and wished that the octopus was more tender. Overall good food with minor imperfections.

    Didn't like that we had to wait over 15 minutes for a table after having a reservation (they said it would be two minutes). It wouldn't have bothered me as much if they didn't have a lot of open tables and we were part of their first sitting of the day. Having 4 hostesses didn't make a lot of sense, it seems like they would have been better served cleaning, bussing, or waiting than just standing there. Decor is pretty inside, we were outside. It felt like a parking lot with a gazebo eating on my parents best dishes. Too expensive for that feel. We were a party of four and shared a lot of plates. Food was a little all over the place. Some dishes were great Vodka sauce with langostino. We liked their version of the Caprese salad with adding cucumber. Some of the dishes were meh, the gorgonzola brulee, the bread, the regular sauce. Most things were good not great. Nothing about this place would make me return.

    We visited last summer and the experience was so amazing we just had to return. We sat on the front outside patio which is so charming. The food is exquisite and everyone, from the hostess to the servers to the owners are friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely return once again before we head back home. Run, don’t walk, to this place!

    One of my favorite restaurants in San Diego; fresh ingredients, delicious food, friendly staff. I recommend the Cesarina salad, polpo crocante and the arriabatisima pasta.

    My niece and I drove down for lunch. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed dessert and coffee afterwards. Food was excellent as always.
