From check in to finish, our experience here was relaxing and enjoyable. The food was fresh and delicious. Our waiter was excellent, and the blankets and hot water bottles were perfect for the chilly night.

An absolute gem!! I will recommend this place to everyone I know coming to San Diego!! The atmosphere is just amazing it was cool but we wanted to sit outside, they have heating lamps and a fire, hot water bottles and blankets it made it a European experience!! The food was AMAZING!!! The eggplant appetizer was delicious as was the ravioli I had for my main meal. The service was also outstanding he knew the menu in detail and was very patient as it too me a little longer to decide!!

Cesarina is overall a very good restaurant and is well priced for good quality food. The wine selection has a wide range, they willing let you try a sample, and is not overpriced.

One of the best pastas in SD with cozy patio & great customer service. The breads served in the beginning are fresh & good quantity. I’m taking off one star out of 5 is the potion is too tight. Some tables are very small.

The best Italian restaurant in Southern California, without a doubt. Originally from Boston, Cesarina even rivals anything that Boston's infamous North End Italian restaurants can put out. Time after time, Cesarina brings me back to the authentic tastes of Italy that I've not tasted since I last visited Rome.

I felt in love with this place when my BF took me for dinner to celebrate our special day...so I decided to share the wonderful experience with my BFF for another special occasion...our valentine get together. I requested for the outside dining but they couldn’t arrange my request. The reason they said was because I made the reservation through open table. I even reconfirmed my reservation because it was very important. Very disappointed.

I enjoyed the best Bucatini all'Amatriciana in my whole life at this small but truly wonderful restaurant. Parmigiana di Melanzane was outstanding too. Service was exceptional. Not only my server, but also a few other folks kept checking if I was happy. But they were never pushy. I wonder how the owner developed such a nice culture.I don't live in San Diego unfortunately and might need to wait for a few years to come back. I will try to visit this place next time with my wife who loves Parmigiana di Melanzane!

My first bite of gnocchi with Genovese sauce was truly one of the best things I have ever eaten. I don’t say that lightly. Everyone else was very pleased with their food. A true gem of a restaurant.

Noise with people chatting, birthday singing and overhead music quite a lot and takes an effort to have a conversation.

AS usual, the food was terrific. I had my favorite eggplant parmigiana, which they do so well. My mom and I brought my cousin for his first visit. As a vegan he was able to find which he said was a wonderful pasta dish...penne with mushrooms and sausage. The service was warm, welcoming and informative. We always enjoy ourselves at Cesarina.

This was our third visit to Cesarina. we couldn't wait to eat here again and brought 3 guests with us. i want to review our dinner choices: appetizers were wonderful. the foccachia with squash blossoms & mortadella - absolutely delicious. the fried calamari - very good. 2 diners had pasta ala norma and really enjoyed the taste, though one guest had mafalde pasta as suggested by the server (and Adam was a wonderful server BTW!!) and it is a very thick, heavy pasta though not described that way (we all thought it would be curly down the sides but flat like fettucine or parpadelle), so our guest could not eat much of it - too heavy for her. my husband had the special which was gnocchi with octopus (he would have preferred a different pasta he realized after eating it). he said the taste was wonderful but was surprised that the pieces of octopus were very tiny, (not like slices or small chunks) - but again, the taste was good. i had cacio e pepe, which i love to have most anywhere it's made. i know where it's the best. so, i will say i mostly enjoyed this entree, but it was way, way too salty. granted this dish made with cheese would surely be quite salty -- but this was over the top salty. maybe extra salt was added to the pasta water/liquid? i ate it all, cause i love the dish, but again i would prefer it to be less salty. in the end we will dine here again as there are other dishes we'd like to try. GREAT menu. And if asked i would recommend this sweet place. Grazie!

FYI: Cesarina responded and addressed all my comments. This restaurant and the staff are TOP NOTCH! it is rare to get such a quick reply after taking the time to leave a review AND i highly recommend trying this establishment for a great meal and great service!! 2/20/20

i am so happy our friends turned us on to Cesarina last month! This was our second visit (one more scheduled soon!), and we brought our out of town friends for their anniversary. Even i was surprised when the waiter brought us 4 beautiful glasses of Prosecco to toast to our friends! What a wonderful start to what was to be a perfect dinner! I think the most impressive element at Cesarina is the wait-staff! They are friendly, attentive without ever overdoing it, and are oh-so Italian!! Perfect! And then there's the food! on first visit, the mafaldo funghi was rich and delicious, so my husband and i had to share that again (and fight over it!). we also had the wild boar pasta dish which gave off an enticing rosemary aroma. and our friends shared the brussels sprouts and a gorgeous fresh seafood pasta dish that i may have to try next time. please do not go to Cesarina - i am afraid there will not be a space for me!!*
