   I wish they would’ve kept the runner as I remember it from the last time I was there. I had the shrimp and grits. They were way better last time before they changed the recipe. My companion had a salad that was so tart and vinegar he, he could barely eat it, last time he was there he had a salad that he talked about for weeks but that is no longer on the menu with all the choices in downtown San Diego. I probably would not recommend this restaurant to friends.

   I had a super great server but we waited a really long time for food that was incredibly overpriced for what it was. Also, I did not know this is basically a sports bar and so was a little annoyed that it was quite loud for a Thursday dinner.

   Nice location. Booths and seating well positioned for views of flat screens over bar area. Appreciated message from restaurant prior to reservation to inform me of what time the kitchen closed. Our food was good, nothing to rave about. A few hiccups with staff in training: incorrect drink order, missing appetizer and inability to see final bill. We paid our "in-training" waitress at the table on her mobile device but she was unable to show us our bill or print out our receipt. We left wondering if our bill was accurately calculated.

   Quick lunch with colleagues - ordered the black eye pea bowl which is always solid. Others had the hot chicken sandwich and a burger with fries and they liked it. Quick service, quiet atmosphere on a Wednesday. This place looks like a bar and it is, but don't be fooled because the food is good and it's a good place to grab a quick bite that is leveled up from typical bar food.

   We came here following a conference at the convention center and the food was okay, there were not a lot of gluten free options, and the drink was a little watered down. There wasn’t anything bad about our experience, just nothing super remarkable either.

    Met friends before a concert. The service was extremely slow. I barely got my drink when we needed the check to leave on time. We could only get hummus and biscuits because most of us are vegetarians. Biscuits were great! Everything else, not so much.

    Everything on the menu had some sort of spice which limited the options. The cocktails were delicious. The bar seats were full and there was only one other table sitting, they left shortly after we sat. So one table… just us… the server must have been having a very bad day because she was neither helpful or welcoming. We ended up have a drink and an appetizer and leaving. The spot is a great location and decor is gorgeous. So much potential. **UPDATE 02.23.2023** Manager reached out to me for more information and an invite to come back with a giftcard to try establishment again. I DID provide the information and am yet to hear back from the manager.

    Really nice place. Super cute and helpful waitress although she didn't have a clear grasp of the restaurant week menu so our order kinda got mixed up but everyone was so kind and helpful that we'll definitely be going back. Close to the ballpark so that's a big plus for those of us with season tickets. Wish I would've found this earlier in the season.

    Requested outside seating, which was great for people watching. Server recommended the Nashville Popcorn shrimp for a starter and we’re happy we took her suggestion. Great spices in the batter and nice ranch dip sauce. Ordered Chicken Tacos and Petite filets as our entrees and both were delicious, fresh tasting and cooked perfectly. Our server was fantastic - we needed masks for a tour we were going on after and she was able to find us some - which saved us running back to the hotel. We appreciated the extra effort she put in to help us out! Great overall experience

    The service was great! I have to say, I was someone disappointed with the cheeseburger, it was just large, somewhat dry, too tall to get your mouth around, and the buns ere toasted bread that you could not push down and squish down to make it not so tall to be able to get your mouth around it. And the taste was OK. Typical cheeseburger. But it was large, I was so full afterwards!

    Got the shrimp and grits and there was so much broth it was soup. The Nashville chicken sandwich had lukewarm tenders on it. The fries were not crispy. Drinks were weak. The waitress was awesome which is why I added a star.

    My husband and I stopped by for brunch because it was close to our hotel. The waitress suggested the Crawfish Tacos, Fried Chicken Tacos, and the side of biscuits and gravy. I’m so happy she did—everything was yummy! We also had the Rosemary Berry Spritz, which I would also recommend!

    I made a reservation to this place even though it wasn’t full when we arrived but the way they do their seating I recommend making a reservation because you do get seated right away with a reservation. They had walk-ins waiting for a bit even though they did have tables available. Their mixed drinks were delicious! If you’re not sure what to order our server gave us great recommendations for drinks, the way he described each one made it easy to figure out which drink was more my style. We tried their hush puppies and smoked wings both were good. We also tried the fried chicken tacos they were pretty good! Overall a great new spot to try out.

    Excellent interesting food in a fun festive atmosphere served by a staff who cared about our experience. The southern fare was clever (fried chicken tacos) and delicious, the price was VERY reasonable and our server, Georgia, was attentive and friendly but not overbearing.     My partner and I stayed down the street from this restaurant, and we went to Saturday Brunch here. It did not disappoint! The staff put us at an amazing table outside, and we had bellinis to start. Their peach syrup was awesome and went perfectly with the champs. We had the biscuits and popcorn shrimp to start; I highly recommend both of them! The shrimp was crunchy on the outside with the perfect amount of spice. The jam, honey, and butter on the biscuits were all SO GOOD. We split the carnitas tacos, and every element of those tacos was superb. We loved our meal so much!

    I was looking forward to this restaurant. Unfortunately, no mention was made of a street closure that prevented access. Since I walk with a cane, my friend was unable to drop me close to the entrance. We did enjoy 6 other restaurants this week.

    Overall, Cerveza Jack’s was just ok. The outdoor seating, lights, and scenery were nice, but the service and food were disappointing. The food: My wife and I ordered the jambalaya and the shrimp & grits. The flavors were good, but our food wasn’t hot. It was as if it was prepared and ready but was sitting for a while before we got it. The drinks: These were the best part of the night. We ordered the mezcal margaritas and these were very good. The service: This is where they lost us. The hostess was friendly and sat us at our table fairly quickly. Our waitress was just ok. We saw her once to order our food and drinks then that was it until the end of the dinner when we were ready to pay. Didn’t check to see if we needed anything or wanted more drinks (which we did want more). The woman who brought our food out didn’t say a word to us. Just dropped it on the table in front of us and that was it. This place has a ton of potential. My wife and I were really looking forward to hanging out for a while after dinner grabbing drinks to celebrate my birthday weekend, but the service we received really turned us off from sticking around. Hopefully things get better, but I can’t say I’d go back again.

    Great service and incredible food, definitely worth checking out. I had somewhat of a runny egg and didn’t send them back, but our server was very kind and attentive to our feedback. The bloody Mary’s are delicious. If you’re into hush puppies GET THEM! They’re incredible.
