Cerulean - Winona Lake Ratings and Reviews
My daughter worked there while attending Grace College. Not only have we enjoyed the food there, but the owners treated my daughter so well. Like family, and we really appreciated that.
Service is always good, food is always prepared very well. Love to come during any season, but especially during the spring, summer and fall, to sit out on the porch. We tell our friends about this restaurant all the time! Keep up the great job!
My wife and mine's favorite restaurant for 4 years and running! We will continue to go and enjoy time with many of the staff who know us by now; whether, it be with ourselves as a family, or with friends and family we bring along to experience a true work of art (that also tastes delicious ;) ). Forever our go to place!
We always love eating at Cerulean. We have yet to have better sushi than what we eat here. The cocktails always are impressive as well. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Clean & inviting atmosphere. One of our all time favorite date night spots. Thanks, Cerulean, for being so innovative & fun!
The theme of the night was inconsistent, with some quite good and some pretty average experiences.
Cerulean normally has very good service. This was the biggest disappointment of the evening. The weather was lousy and the restaurant not very busy yet our server was not attentive at all.
Appetizers - our friends had the 5 cheese selection and they seemed to really like that. We had the sticky rice appetizer, which was good, but with a little more crab and spice it would have been excellent.
Entrees - I had the scallops. The scallops were a nice portion size and the overall dish was very good. A little more pasta would have made this dish nearly perfect. My wife had the salmon entree and was very disappointed in the salmon quantity and taste. I believe she described the pasta with it as Ramen Noodle - like. Our friends seemed to be satisfied with their entrees.
Big picture... I still recommend Cerulean. It is the best lunch in the area. The dinner experience this weekend was a bit disappointing. To make the dinner experience a good value for the money Cerulean has to pay attention to all of the details.
Got a great table on the porch. Food was just as good as usual, and it was all served at the same time, which is important to me. I felt the server rushed us a little, and she missed a request from one person in my group.
I’ve been a patron of Cerulean for a long time, and I’ve noticed a downward trend in the service for awhile. There needs to be a return to attention to the details that makes Cerulean so awesome for this town.
My wife and I were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary at Cerulean-Winona Lake. We had not been there before and we were extremely impressed with the overall dining experience. Tiffany and Crissy were our servers and they did a wonderful job describing the menu options. The roasted oysters and duck dumplings had some outstanding flavor profiles. I wish the quantity of the oysters and dumplings would have been greater. The wild salmon and the gulf prawns were also outstanding. We finished our meal with a desert of decadent chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. WOW, what a wonderful dining experience!!!
The food is always great. Our server was on top of our drinks which is important to me. We ordered the lunch bento boxes and I am a big fan of the Asian Noodle Salad and the Brussle Sprouts. Both very good. While the brussle sprouts were not warm they were still very good. The Asian salad is a cold salad and is fantastic! I have never had a bad meal here.
Mason waited on us, after I had to call for directions and still couldn't find it in the dark, as we dined late on our way back from Chicago. Thank goodness the green Christmas tree was lit and a great "landmark". Mason was very nice, knowledgable, attentive, but not overly. My potatoes were cold and he treated us to little special dessert, which was a great touch!
We had the best filets!! -Mine on the bleu cheese smashed potatoes and my husband substituted for roasted potatoes. -medium rare, the steaks were butterflied (which normally I don't like) but the presentation was stunning and the steaks were soooo yummy. I know it's known as a sushi and fish place, but we will rave about those "beef tenderloins". Thanks for an enjoyable meal!! Only 2 complaints: 1. our table lacked lighting, which I didn't mind, but menus were printed small and husband couldn't read it especially without light. I loved being in a booth though, vs hard chairs. 2. Perhaps if Mason had asked sooner I would've had another glass of wine, but that's a minor point (but since my review name is Diva4wine, you get it.)
