About Ceres' Table
The restaurant features regional, Italian-inspired seasonal plates that pay homage to tradition with respect to the technique, process, and history of Italian cuisine. A reflection of the Italian lifestyle, Ceres’ Table has forged meaningful connections with Midwestern farmers in the spirit of cooking with seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients wherever possible. In continuation of that philosophy, Chef O'Neill will expand and seasonally adjust our menu with what is available in the market and from our purveyors on regular basis.
CT's 100% italian-focused wine list showcases a sophisticated yet approachable variety, with more than 200 selections available by the bottle and 20 by the glass. Additionally, the craft cocktail program highlights both classics and house specialty cocktails. The bar opens daily at 5pm.

Ceres' Table Ratings and Reviews
Our best experience was the ambiance; Ceres Table is comfortable with some sound level adjustment. The rest of the visit was mixed, weighted towards the "eh". Menu options are beautifully described, but the execution is often rough. With an early evening reservation, it was surprising to be greeted with a half dozen items not available in the kitchen, which impacted as many menu listings. No intentions of returning, but would recommend a date of a shared pizza and a glass of wine.
We went to Ceres Table for the first time having heard great things. It was a disappointment. They were skimpy on veggies on the veggie pizza and had no side with the branzino. The food was good but unremarkable. We had to wait an inordinate amount of time for our food. Our server was very apologetic about the delay.
Actually the food was not that bad....however the service was far from adequate. I really don't like it, at a semi-upscale restaurant, when the food runners don't know who ordered what...no need for that. The waitress was also not prepared for such large table. I won't try this again.
I wanted to really like this place. It's cute, it's in my neighborhood, the service was great and the menu looked good, but none of the food we had was very good. The spaghetti carbonara was so bland that I actually requested the waiter bring a salt shaker to the table, which I never do. The roasted chicken and lobster risotto were nothing special, even though lobster risotto is usually something I love. I wouldn't order any of these things again. And, the restaurant was playing Led Zeppelin, which lasted the duration of our time there. After an hour and a half I couldn't take much more Led Zeppelin music!
My husband and I live in the Lakeview area and love coming to Ceres for a romantic yet laid-back date night. Ceres feels comfortable and inviting, while still presenting a modern, sexy vibe in its decor and ambiance. I love the menu for its mix of delicious salads, pastas and pizzas. You can't go wrong bringing a date here! My only note would be to definitely share plates - there are so many tasty items on the menu, and its fun to sample a mix of plates.
We had been wanting to go forever and finally had the chance to make it to Lakeview. When we arrived, we were seated promptly. The service was great; our waitress was so nice and friendly. The hostess was great too.
Unfortunately, after that came pure disappointment. We ordered 4 dishes to share between the 2 of us. After spending around $100 to eat, we ended up at a nearby taco restaurant because we were still hungry. This is kinda crazy, we are not big eaters at all, but the portions for the price were ridiculous. We ordered the $12 watermelon and tomato salad. I could not believe how tiny it was. $12 for watermelon, tomatoes, a little cheese and a tiny amount of pesto. We told this to our waitress at the end, who was very apologetic and kind. The $16 margharita pizza was incredibly thin and had barely any cheese. The $12 bruschetta with peppers on 2 pieces of toast was in our opinion a rip off as well.
All in all, we were so disappointed. The quality of food was there, but for the price, the portions were so tiny, even for a tapas place. Needless to say we will not be back to this restaurant. There are so many restaurants that offer more for the money that make sense to dine at. Really, really unfortunate.
I surprised my husband on his birthday with dinner at Ceres Table. We both absolutely loved this restaurant! The service was amazing, and the menu offered very clever and creative options. Christian, our server provided us with excellent appetizer and entree suggestions and he was spot-on. The wine he recommended to accompany our meal was also first-rate. We were seated in a booth towards the back of the restaurant which offered a more intimate & muted atmosphere. We will definitely return to this lovely dining spot, and highly recommend it for others who love great food, excellent service and the perfect ambience. No special birthday or anniversary event required! Thank you for making our evening so memorable.
I generally like the food at Ceres Table. But my son and I went there Friday night at 7:30 and they were already out of some central food items. First we ordered the large steak on the menu to split between 2 people. The waiter came back and said they were all out of the steak. They only buy 2 and both had been ordered. Next we ordered squash blossoms and again the poor waiter had to come tell us they were out of squash blossoms. The restaurant was not full and it was the beginning of the weekend so this seemed like really bad planning by the chef.
Despite all this, the service was excellent and the food we finally ordered was good.
Excellent service. Wonderful waiter and attentive staff; very nice food, good wine and beer list, attractive decor. Tables not on top of each other. Music was a bit loud for my taste, which can make conversation challenging, but other diners didn't seem to notice. Would recommend for fresh, creative Mediterranean food.
We come here regularly for dinner and love it and tried it for brunch with family. They left two out of 5 things off the plate by accident for one dish, the biscuits for two dishes were bitter and inedible. The service was also just ok and not very friendly.
you use the term energetic for overly loud. I am looking for Chicago restaurants to institute one quiet night/month. That means NO music. Unfortunately, there are hardly any restaurants that don't have mostly hard surfaces which means high noise level even without using background music(noise). so what I would call overly loud, you term energetic. That is a point of departure.
First time at Ceres' Table, nice atmoshere, excellent cocktails, interesting selections on the menu. The octopus carpacio was excellent as were the crostinis and the friti misto. My lobster rissoto was unfortunately undercooked so no matter how flavorful you can't get passed under done rice. Our waiter warned us when we order the artisanal pizza that it might come out at any time during the meal but as we were having cocktails and appetizers it didn't seem it would be a problem.....unfortunately even after prompting our waiter the pizza came to the table after our meal was finished.....really no excuse. My other complaint was with our waiter who was very busy but seemed oddly annoyed by our table....he wasn't unpleasant the service was indifferent. All in all I would go back for the food, many options on the menu to try on future visits.
This restaurant has always been a favorite, but this visit was not so great. The food was really mediocre, and I could not help but be distracted from the immense, clearly decaying bouquet spotlighted in the back of the restaurant. I hope it was just an off night?
Will NEVER be back. This was the 3rd bad experience (of 4 visits) I've had and I'm not sure why I gave it another chance. Dissapointing since they are so close to my home, but the food has never been impressive and many time not good at all. Can't believe they're still in business.
