Wonderful experience with a big group! They seated us by the chef counter but far enough away from other tables that we weren’t self conscious about how loud we were. Wonderful food and service!!
Never a disappointment!! They treat you like family.
It was fun to watch the pizza guy jamming while he made our pizzas! He seemed to love his job! Food was great!
always good, even stuff i'd otherwise never eat—e.g., radiatore with oxtail sugo, mushroom risotto, both of which i ordered (completely voluntarily: amazing!)—is invariably superb, which certainly was the case this weekend!
Good food, extensive wine list and attentive staff. Great spot for an evening with girlfriends.
Great restaurant with fantastic service. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and considerate. Love coming here!
We were here for a special event, a cookbook signing and prix fixe menu based in recipes from the book. Price included a copy of the book which was signed by the author as she circulated throughout the restaurant. A lovely and different kind of experience. I hope they do it more often. Ps: the complimentary Aperol Spritzers and souvenir glasses was a nice (and tasty) touch !
Wonderful dinner. I highly recommend the mushroom risotto.
Every time we come to Ceres' Table, we say "Why don't we come more often?" The service is always great (and personal) and the menu offers really interesting items. The wine list is quite good too!
Went for girls night and ordered two bottles of wine, 'di stefano' burrata appetizer and two pizzas: la stella and finocchiona. The food was amazing!
Terrific week night dinner. Special dishes were delightful (porchetta). Pizza perfectly charred in the wood burning oven. Cocktails paired well across the whole dinner. Always amazing wine list. Welcoming and friendly hospitality. Truly a great dinner not to mention incredibly value.
We went early, 5PM on a Saturday and clearly before the place fills up. Got a few of their signature cocktails while we looked over the menu.
Being an Italian place it seems like they should provide complementary bread service, but it's $4 and consists of a single (pretty tasty, wood fired flatbread with herb butter) portion. We had the grilled octopus as an app and it was excellent.
For dinner we ordered the Fusili al Nero. House-made squid ink pasta with Rock Shrimp, Uni Butter, nduja, and mint. Really really good, and enough of a reason to come back by itself.
The charred broccolini side missed the mark badly but the waiter was gracious about it and swapped it out for some delicious fried brussels sprouts. The wood fired meatball and giardiniera pizza was a hit as well.
The bill ended up right around $100 for two cocktails, bread, olives, pasta, and pizza. A little pricey, but I'll go back again when I'm in the mood for a nice pasta dish in a cool Broadway space.
They were having internet problems, so as a result, service was not attentive. But things can happen, and they were appropriately nice and apologetic (after a while) and dealt with it relatively well, so we're still fans. Food was excellent.
Always enjoy meals here. I only wish for a few more vegitarian options.
Service was deplorable. We had to get up and find out server twice during our stay. The first to order drinks and the second to order cocktails. Additionally, we requested items come out courses so we could enjoy appetizers, salad, and then pasta. Everything came out at once; sautéed olives cane out cold and served with so much olive oil they were inedible. Beet salad was bland. Pasta was lukewarm. This is the second time we have experienced this type of service in a row. We will not be back.
The food was excellent, the service prompt and friendly with the noise level perfect for conversation - so rare these days! My only complaint was the difficulty finding items without meat-based elements amongst the appetizers and sides. Our waiter was helpful making subtractions to accommodate, but the options were limited.
Hi Fredda. I am sorry to hear that you had trouble finding items that were meatless. On your next visit, please feel free to contact me ahead of time and I will personally ensure there are more meat-free choices for you. Please call the restaurant and ask for Scott or email the reservation line which goes to me directly and I will be happy to help. Cheers and thank you for your lovely review.
Ceres’ Table cooly fuses fine dining with a relaxed cocktail lounge atmosphere. It is a 21st century restaurant with a tip of the hat to tried-and-true dishes. The clay-brick oven and mixologists dream drink menu never disappoint.
Thank you so much for this amazing review. CT is a labor of love for us and your type of experiences is the validation of our effort. Thank you!!! Cheers! Team CT
Great place, awesome food, great service.
Thank you for your wonderful review.
We waited about 15 minutes for any server to acknowledge the table. The food was quite salty. We have have had numerous good experiences at Ceres. This was definitely a miss for us.
Took family there for special evening. Reservation had been lost. Total chaos. Kitchen could not keep-up with orders and ours were delivered over a period of 45 minutes. Some were finished eating before others were served! Food was average but even if it were exceptional I would be hesitant to return.
Always great food and drinks !
The best! Our family loves the restaurant
Thank you for always being so supportive of The Lynn Sage Foundation.
Excellent food and service, i would have rated higher but the hosts were terrible and ignored reservation requests. Kitchen is slow and sadly unpredictable as to timing so our food came out at vastly different times which lessened the experience 9we were only two so shouldn’t be hard to hold until both meals are ready?
We had around an hour and a half before a theater performance. We let out waitress know. We were not rushed - we had cocktails, an appetizer. Entrees and dessert. Our waitress was great. She was knowledgeable. Guided us through cocktails and food. The food was delicious. Preparation and presentation were great.
We’ve been dining at Cere’s Table since they were on Clark Street and always look forward to their interesting menu.
We celebrated my husband's birthday at Cere's Table with our son and his girlfriend who live nearby. Both are foodies; she trained as a chef. Cere's Table was their recommendation. It was perfect! The food was delicious. The service was genial. The cocktails were beautifully presented as well as great tasting--not too sweet. We ordered many things---arancini, crostini, salad with basil crumbs, a couple of pizzas, mushroom risotto, pasta bolognese-- and shared. Our son and his girlfriend took some of the pizza home. We cleaned our plates of everything else and managed a little dessert. We look forward to going back there. There are many more things we want to try!
P.S. It is best to Uber or take public transportation. It is about a 15 minute walk from the Belmont El stop.
This was our first visit, but Ceres' Table lived up to its recent reviews. The food was delicious, the wines were excellent and the service was superb. We were celebrating an anniversary and the staff went out of their way to bring us special treats and indulge our requests to share several dishes. We had fun!
Better than expected based on the reviews I read. The Food was very good.
Horrible service. They didn't ask how I wanted my steak prepared. Not once did our waiter ascertain satisfaction during the meal. Then he just dropped the check without asking if we wanted anything else.
It was just okay. Nice interior so I’d go back for a glass of wine but not for food.
Great food! The service, however, was just much too slow. We were going to a show that started at 10....got to our reso at 7:30, and were still nearly late to the show. It really shouldn't take almost 2.5 hours for a meal. In addition, our waiter was really nice and friendly, but disappeared for long stretches of time which was a bit frustrating as well. I'd come back, but only when I didn't have somewhere to be after my meal.
ordered a salad and pizza. They were supposed to have great pizza but came out and it was cold in the middle like it just came out of the freezer and popped in the oven, but just not long enough!! Really sucked. Was wife's B-Day. Wont return.
We celebrated my daughter’s 24th birthday. It was a cute bougie restaurant with great food and awesome service.
This was a tough review to write. Food was GREAT. Really solid and even special. Only complaint food-wise is that they were already running out of things at 8pm - -not great planning. The BIG downside in our experience was the service. It was TERRIBLE. Probably worst I've ever had at a restaurant of this supposed caliber. We had a spunky waitress who looked like she had WAY too many tables to serve. She left us for really really long stretches (including waiting for our initial drinks) and then was defensive when we said something. Even the bus service was poor with plates not cleared, water not refilled and a wobbly table that took multiple attempts to fix.
I have eaten here several times over the past few years, but this was a disappointment. The service was very slow. Three of us dined, and none of us particularly enjoyed our entree (Branzino, risotto, tagliatelle). To end the evening, the waitress first gave us a bill for about 1/2 of our order. Then we asked her to split the check between 2 credit cards, and that was wrong too.
Not terribly impressed with the service here. Was meeting friends for dinner before going to Blue Man Group, and it turned out making 6pm dinner reservations for 8pm theater tickets was a necessity. Server was polite and apologetic, but the only thing that came quickly & efficiently was water. We had to ask for our drinks, bread, and meals. The food was very good, but all the waiting made us nervous and took some of the pleasure out of the meal.
My fiance and I love to come to Ceres Table about once a month or so and sit at the bar in front of the big pizza oven. We almost always split a pizza (the Rucola is our favorite!) with a couple of cocktails. The bartender makes delicious drinks and is super friendly. He also makes homemade limoncello that we love to have at the end of our meal! Would definitely recommend to others.
the margarita pizza that I ordered didn't have any cheese on it - I would not recommend this item
I love this place! I always sit in the bar area. Sometimes at the bar. The bartender is great and this time he was waiting tables. If you like Italian wine I think they have the best by the glass wine list I’ve ever found. The wine is terrific and a $15 glass of Barolo can’t be beat. Did I mention the generous pour? I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. This time we both had delicious homemade pasta. Mine was bolognese and the sauce was perfect. I’ve always had veal in the past but for some reason it wasn’t on the menu this time.
