Excellent service a nice menu a favourite place for dinner in the city excellent wine list
Staff make you very welcome
Right from the start we were welcomed and made to feel valued as a customer. Christian helped my husband choose the perfect wine in their extensive wine cellar. Emmy from Bulgaria was our very attentive and accommodating server fir the night. And the food was killer! We were celebrating our anniversary on this visit to Vancouver and our special dessert was wonderful and very thoughtful. You must go and experience this fine dining restaurant
Two exhausted ladies from the US were entertained by nearby diners and the excellent server, Sam. The food was delicious even though we disappointed Sam because we didn’t have the 14 Oz Prime rib special. The place was quiet and relaxing and very enjoyable.
Great food!! 2 steaks, 2 fish, all amazing!
Tamara was a fantastic waitress with incredible recommendations for the 45 oz. tomahawk steak for two, the drinks, and dessert. It was a great evening and location to celebrate our anniversary.
Great server Tamara and great food.
Great ambiance and menu selection. Excellent food presentation and flavours. Very good service.
Went for a nice dinner. The restaurant is located inside a hotel which can be good or bad. The ambience was nice, warm wood on the walls. Our waiter was nice and attentive to start then went down hill. I had a strip steak that was tender and seasoned well. The problem for me was that it was a medium grade of beef which the price didn’t reflect. A chain steakhouse would be just as good. My ice tea came to the table and it was so weak that you barley had the taste of tea. My wife had “plain” spaghetti which was good. For over $100 (CD) this meal was way overpriced.
Great menu, wonderful service. Spectacular homemade gluten free pasta. Attention to detail was top notch.
Very nice restaurant. Was nice and quiet. Server was very personable. Service was fast and food was amazing
Excellent food and service. The restaurant was well appointed, but not well exposed to the street for public awareness. Seemed a bit under-attended for a Friday night, so more publicity could help.
Best quality with best service.
Steak was really good and serving was best. So, my business dinner seemed successful.
Our server - Tamara I believe - was fantastic! Even took the time to get a map to show us where to go tomorrow to explore. Our meal was exactly what we needed after a long intense work week. Thank you! (from New-Brunswick)
We went for brunch. The food quality was great. The variety was good. Attention of the servers was better than expected. Excellent value for money for the brunch. Will definitely go back.
Waiter was outstanding & excellent, taste food
Lovely restaurant, especially in a hotel restaurant category.
great food and service. Varied menu. Not inexpensive, but fairly priced.
Our server was very gracious
Our waitress was amazing really friendly and fast and efficient with service.
The food was fresh and delicious.
Nice decor and great romantic setting
Great food just don’t get your hopes up... the high end steakhouse makes menu promises they can’t deliver.
Came here for Valentines day and ordered off of the specialty menu. The value for what was received was absolutely fantastic with 3 courses for $45 per person. The crab cakes, which are part of the main menu, were the favourite of both myself and my girlfriend. The flavours, textures, and portion sizes were absolutely flawless. She greatly enjoyed the 6oz wagyu, and my lobster ravioli was also a fantastic main. The dessert, a vibrant construction of raspberry meringue and macaron was absolutely delicious and the portion was very large. Overall, we had an exceptional experience here service wise and food wise. I will definitely be considering this restaurant as a go-to for our special occasions.
Food was good. Service was mediocre. There was mold/leak above our table. Water fell on me twice which was not the highlight of the night.
Service, and drinks were very good. The food however, was average. 6 of us ordered the supposed Wagyu Steak, puzzling how each meal was vastly difference in size...
Went with a friend for the dine out Vancouver menu. Was very disappointed. The calamari was chewy and tough. Also, the squid was placed on top of too much of the aioli which was very thick. The steak was not what you expect for Wagyu. My friends steak had a tough thread of grizzle through the middle and mine was over seared on one side and no sear on the other. Both were chewy. I asked the waitress if this steak was Wagyu, she said it was, but just a cheaper cut. I have no issue with a cheaper cut, but a chief should know how to cook it so it is tender and delicious, not tough and chewy. Additionally, the sweet potato puree was not smooth and creamy, didn't have a nice texture. The dessert (chocolate mousse cake and bourbon gelato) was very good, no complaints. I get that this is the dine out menu, but the restaurant is supposed to offer a good dining experience so customers will come back. It is supposed to be a sample of what the restaurant has to offer, also a show of support for diners who cannot generally afford a fancy diner out. Any chief should be able to use less expensive ingredients and still make a delicious meal. I will not be back.
Waitress was friendly.
Food was just okay. We had $35 dine-out menu.
Caramari was served cold and soggy, but the steak was not too bad. The cheesecake and chocolate desserts tasted just like a store-brand purchased.
All dishes looked plain, not attractive and tasted between poor to just okay.
Choices was poor - Happy hour only provide red wine/white wine, tap beer and sparkling wine.
Seating area wasn’t comfortable.
We were party of 8 that the restaurant tried to set us in benches table which is only good for 6. We asked if we can changed the table, but waitresses just brought in another table which made the table really long that she cannot serve the guests sit in the end. Due to the table setting that we need to passed/delivered the foods from one end to another on our own whole night. Honestly, I was the host and I was very embarrassed about this. The restaurant wasn’t packed when we arrived that I truly believe there’s something else that the restaurant can do.
With the price and the quality of the food/services, I don’t think it’s worthy to even give it a try.
I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Totally a disappointment!
Enjoyable and great service
Good dine out experience
We went for dine out. I sat there for about 5-7 mins before our server came to even give me water or asked me what I wanted. Calamari was really bad. Tasted like it was from the day before. The stuffed portebello was good. The wagyu steak tasted good, but tasted more like a normal steak than wagyu. Then had the dessert which was pretty good. For $35, the meal value was decent but wine pairing for $20 was not worth it. For 3 courses, it was like a sip literally each. I would have rather ordered 2 glass of wine for the same price. In general, we were done and out of here within an hour.
We went here for dineout 2019 $35 menu. We tried the following:
- tomato soup and calamari for appetizer
- wagyu steak for entree
- Chocolate cake and pudding for dessert.
Particularly disappointed in the calamari as it was barely warm and the pudding dessert tasted pretty blend that I didn't finish.
The wagyu taste just like any other sirloin steak, I guess it's a very low grade wagyu if it was as it was chewy
The best part was probably the chocolate cake.
Service-wise, the server did not ask how well the steak was done so maybe that led to why the steak was chewy nor did he ask us about our food. Utilsils were randomly placed on our table. Overall, service was subpar compare to other fine dining restaurants but I guess that's the "dineout treatment" you get nowadays whenever restaurants participate in dineout.
Great food, great service! I would def recommend this place.
The Chateaubriand was prepared to perfection and the presentation was spot on. It was a very special meal and the service was impeccable. Ask for Sam if you can.
Great place for a pre-concert dinner if going to St Andrews. We were going to the Xmas Vancouver symphony concert. It was easy to reserve a table online. The staff understood about the concert timing . The food was delicious.
To Whom It May Concern:
Delighted to have found such an excellent Italian restaurant and will spread the word when I return to UBC in January.
Our waitress, Jessica, was infinitely obliging and first-class, and my four guests enjoyed themselves greatly, but I would have a few suggestions for Chef Woods.
My crab cake was only warm rather than hot, and I had the impression that it was just warmed-up rather than freshly fried, while the fry-taste of the batter dominated rather than the crab, which could have benefitted from a touch of tartar sauce or vinegar. Jessica wasn’t fazed when I requested vinegar, but the kitchen was, in that an appropriate dispenser didn’t exist. In my book, vinegar like tartar sauce, is a customary accompaniment for fish dishes.
I had a temperature problem with the bisque also. It too, was warm, rather than hot, even before I added the sherry I had ordered specially. Also, the dry taste of those silly little oyster crackers detracted rather than enhanced the experience. They could and should be dispensed with. Toast triangles would be preferable.
That said, the overall impression was very positive, including the ambience, not to mention learning that you make your own pasta.
I had asked a member of the Italian faculty a couple of months ago when considering some entertaining whether any of the Italian restaurants in town made their own, and drew a blank.
Now that we have an Italian government appointee on faculty for the next six years, I’ll make sure that she learns of this . . . and passes it on to the consulate-general, if they are not already aware of same.
DV, I look forward to proposing that ITAL302 have its graduation celebration chez C/Prime.
The food quality here is excellent. Top quality ingredients prepared perfectly. At a decent price point considering the quality. The downside was the ambiance and service which were closer to Denny's than fine dining.
Everyone in our group of 8 was pleasantly surprised that the food was very good and place was comparatively quiet, which was great for conversations. A little bit pricey, however, considering that most entrees were not complete without an additional side at extra cost.
Very quiet restaurant. Given the food quality and service I would have expected it to be busier.
The New York striploin my wife ordered was excellent, as was my order of BC short ribs, tender and juicy. We were there on a quiet night, only one of four tables in our section, so it's difficult to say if it would be a quiet spot on a busy night, but we certainly appreciated being able to have a quiet conversation. The staff were helpful, courteous and accommodating. A very nice dining experience.
Excellent service and food!
Very well prepared meal with excellent quality ingredients. The lamb was perfectly prepared and the portion side was generous. Nice atmosphere and good service.
The noise level made our conversation very difficult if not impossible. Also, my Negroni across the Street at Bar One in the Sheraton Wall Centre was more like the one I would make at home and not watered down as the ones I ordered at C Prime Lounge. Also, the screw-up about not being allowed to reserve a booth for five at CPrime Lounge made for a frustrating and not totally great experience, Rick Stenhouse
A bit disappointing this time. "Hash brown" potatoes had been sitting around and didn't taste good. In general there was not the touch we had experienced before. The only reason the noise level was higher in the mid morning hour was a fussing child sitting nearby.
Elegant, airy room.
Unique menu choices.
Wonderful low-key service.
