Collin and staff, we had Mary, were wonderful. Made St Paddy’s day for the Daley clan a gastronomic delight...
our visit was just awful which upset me greatly because we came for the first time several weeks ago and it was wonderful, so much so that we took our friends with us this time and was embarrassed that it turned out so awful. First the french onion soup was not the same as i had there several weeks ago, the onions were long and the bread and cheese was hard and the soup was Luke warm . Next- my entree was served cold, when they took it back, they brought it to me with a terrible tasting gravy placed on it which was not much warmer . I ended up just sending it back and did not have any entree as i had lost my appetite for it after this happened. To make matters worse, the waitress seemed annoyed that i was not satisfied and she was curt with us the remainder of the meal. The manager did offer to get me something else, but by this time everyone else had finished there dinners. He did give us two desserts to share - we had the fruit crumble which was so sweet we just shared the ice cream. I was so disappointed.
Delightful charming atmosphere. Food is traditional American cuisine. Desserts are yummy and seasonal. It was louder than normal on today’s visit. Staff was accommodating when needing to add guests to the table.
First time to the century house for a date night the food was absolutely delicious portions were perfect our waitress was pleasant and attentive we can't wait to come back!
Absolutely amazing food. Second time going & I looked forward to my stay there not only for the great staff & hotel but for the delicious food. I took two guests with me & they also were blown away. The price, quality, & overall experience is amazing. Don’t be put off by the overall upscale appearance of the restaurant, they are very laidback & accomdating. Worth the trip.
Wonderful as always. ..I loved the salmon special and my friend enjoyed the chicken, The cheesecake covered with fresh berries and the key lime tart were both excellent.
ENJOYED THI LOVELY PLACE ONCE AGAIN FOR EVENING MEAL WITH SISTERS.SEATING WAS PROMPT ,NICE WARM FIREPLACE GOING IN ROOM ..SERVICE WAS PROMPT AND MORE THEN ADEQUATE.FOOD WAS SERVED WITHOUT A LENGTHY WAIT AND TASTED VERY GOOD...AS USUAL.WILL COME AGAIN..PERHAPS TO THEIR EASTER BUFFET WHICH WE HV ATTENDED FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS..
Great service and the food was excellent and always. We are never served a bad meal. Calamari is amazing and fresh. Cheesecake was moist and creamy and very delicious. My only complaint is the nose level. Everytime I'm there I have a hard time hearing people , even those close to me. We were 6 at a rectangular table. I was at one end and had no chance of hearing the person at the other end unless they yelled, which is not pleasant of course. It was a Saturday night and the room was full, perhaps this wouldn't be an issue on a quieter evening.
Great rustic ambience. Fast, very well informed service. Excellent wine and beer lists. The menu was variable for all tastes, we were able to mix any entree with any side. Great plate presentation, hot and on time. Definitely a chef inspired menu. Everything is house made including the delicious desserts.
Last time we were there for a meal was in the early eighties. Having returned to the area after living and moving frequently in different parts of the country, it was great to see the quality and service was just as good as ever. We shall be back.
Service very slow . We waited 45 minutes before we received anything . Food was really good.
The food was below average. I ordered a burger, cooked medium, when I received it it was beyond well done and the outside was charred. It was incredibly dry and impossible to eat. My husband ordered the lobster roll and said that he had eaten better lobster rolls at the 99 restaurant. Our waitress was rather unattentive. We won’t be returning
Excellent as always. My shrimp were great and my friend loved his prime rib.
The century house is ALWAYS good! Great food and ambiance! Highly recommend! Prime rib is the best!!!
It was a girls lunch date. The waiter was amazing! He took our drinks order s and gave us time to review the menu. Lunch was pleasing to the eyes as well as the the olfactory. We all enjoyed our meals. Good size portions for the $. We were every pleased. Definitely will be going back more offer.
We had been given a gift card and so after an afternoon concert, we decided to try it out. We were able to make an online reservation for that evening and were seated immediately as we came into the restaurant. The main dining room looked very busy, but they seated us in one of the small private rooms. Very nice space. Ordered the Lobster Crostini and the Diver Scallops. Beautiful on plate and delicious to eat. Husband ordered the special salad and the Lobstah Mac and Cheese. Gorgeous and large was the salad and good order of mac and cheese... but he wished there was more lobster instead of pasta, but very pleasing, just the same. With 2 diet sodas and tax and a 20% tip, the bill was $96. It was a Saturday night so the waiter was a little rushed. Never did ask if we wanted drink refills and at $3 a pop, it would have been a reasonable request and the bread which was only 2 small pieces was good but came a little late to the table.
We usually go here around once a month. I would have to say , I was slightly disappointed this time. One of our favorite dishes , the Potato Wrapped Cod was very dry for both my wife and me. My wife did speak to the waiter and he politely apologized and removed her meal from the bill. It’s unfortunate because we love going here but the inconsistency of the meal options and how they are cook has us looking for other options.
Place has been going downhill for last year and a half. Get more disappointing every time we've gone but I think this will be last time.
Wonderful service. All staff made us feel welcome and special. Extremely accommodating. Can't wait to go back.
Colin and the Century House team did a great job.
The French Pork Chop special was especially good.
We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed our meals. We've come on special occasions, Mother's Day Brunch with our grandmother, and just a night out together. The food has always been good, the staff friendly and attentive.
We will definitely be returning.
We went on New Years Eve and had a great experience. There was Valet parking so we were able to drop off our car and not have to look for a spot to park. The Hostess greeted us and brought us to our table immediately. The waiter was also very good and knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. We both ordered the Surf and Turf and it was excellent! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I had dinner here with my husband and young daughter. They were very accommodating and our waitress was very polite and knowledgeable about the menu options. My husband and I shared a beet and arugula salad which was delicious. I ordered the potato crusted cod and it was delicious, albeit quite rich (the plate is covered in a thick cream sauce). The disappointment came in the form of the Mac 'N Cheese dishes. I ordered side dish mac 'n cheese for my daughter (8$) (which she barely touched, but won't hold the restaurant responsible for that). However, my husband ordered the Lobster Mac 'N Cheese for 22$ and it was essentially the same dish my daughter received but slightly bigger with a few scant pieces of lobster. Really far from being a true lobster mac 'n cheese. The bread pudding desert fared much better. The atmosphere was lovely and so was the service, which makes up for some of the unevenness of the food. I would still recommend this place, especially if you are staying at the hotel, for a pleasant dinner experience.
The server couldnt tell me the correct beers on tap. So I went to the bar and the bar tender incorrectly told me a beer was an IPA that wasnt and that a sweet potato stout was oatmeal. Food was very basic and not a lot of flavor
One of the best meals we've had in a long time. The wonderful, intimate ambience of the room is only outdone by the quality of the food. The beet salad, in particular, might have been the best we've ever had. We will definitely be dining at the Century House again next time we're in the area. Highly recommended.
They're known for their steak so it might be worth visiting for that. We went for other food and found the soup and garlic mashed potatoes to be pretty good.
Service was poor. Food not cooked as ordered. Very expensive compared to other restaurants for same dishes.
We had a lovely holiday birthday lunch at the Century House. The food was very good, our server was friendly yet professional, and the holiday-decorated dining room complete with fireplace added a warm holiday atmosphere to our meal! The lunch menu was a great value. This restaurant is highly recommended! We willl return with our friends soon!
Great food, great service! We always enjoy the Century House.
It has been awhile since I had visited the Century House. The dining room is very pretty and warm. I was using a Groupon with a friend. We both ordered the special which was Salmon with hollandaise sauce. It was a small perhaps 4 oz piece of Salmon accompanied by some asparagus and a few roast grape tomatoes. The was no salad included or soup. There was no starch included. The meal was $26. Per person. We were two women having a birthday dinner. My husband would have not had enough to eat. They offer optional side dishes but at a steep price. Excellent taste for sure but the value was not there. Suggest there at least add some rice or potatoes or a Cous cous. There should be a small side salad as well.
I was at Century House for lunch with a client. The lunch menu is somewhat limited, but there were choices hat ranged from comfort food to healthy, and both of us enjoyed our meals. Judging by the size of the lunch time crowd it is a very popular restaurant. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, and the noise level of the crowd was reasonable and the tables separated enough to allow for normal conversational volume. I would certainly visit again.
Great dinner during the holidays. Festive decorations, great service & Food. Recommend!
While not the best meal we've had at the Century House it was good. Our service was excellent. Lobster Crostini a great value!!!
from the reservation to the surprise birthday dessert everything was great; our server Nick was very attentive and special ; the room looked beautiful and festive; it was a very enjoyable night.
We really enjoy ourselves here. While the menu has changed over the years and has become more Tavern/bar friendly, less, foodie, we do miss the old ways, menus, and meal options. However, The Century House is still a beautiful, quaint, and special place to us, we'll always come back.
This is where we chose to get married, and it has never disappointed! Wonderful and quaint at the same time. I'd recommend it for anyone for just about any quiet and comfortable dining occassion (and REALLY recommend it for weddings!)
The Christmas decor was lovely and the wait staff were friendly and amazing. Our lunch was wonderful and they donated a meal for each meal we purchased, what an amazing surprise!
Food just ok for the pretty high prices.
We loved it! Great food, service and time — 3 hour leisurely dinner.
Used to dine at Century House when I lived in the area. Visiting from North Carolina and wanted to see if as good as I remembered. Definitely yes👍👍👍👍
