Great service and atmosphere! Savanna was great. Food was ok, but we had a great time. - Valdez from San Antonio.
Service was good. Place was clean. Atmosphere good. Menu left a lot to be desired. Items out of stock, To be fair probably due to the current situation. (COVID)
We had service in the bar and dining room. Our server, Sergio, was excellent! Disappointed that patio was not open.
We love you guys! You were busy and you were rocking it out. Great job.
Everything about our experience at the Century was amazing... quiet, relaxing dinner with impeccable service and delicious food! Savannah was our server and she took such good care of us that we came back the next day for brunch. Due to Covid, they are only serving in their patio. We would have opted for the patio anyway - such a relaxing atmosphere!
Everything was great! The management, Sarah Davison, is such a delight and made our night especially wonderful! Thanks so much Sarah!
Courteous staff and good food. Pandemic safety precautions were evident.
Salmon was overcooked and dry. Had ran out of the other menu items wanted.
Good service. Salmon over cooked and did not eat it. Excellent Brussels sprouts.
This was an excellent dining experience. The dishes we ordered were a large cut above other dining options in the area. The courtyard seating is the best way to go for ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I always love coming here. The staff are always super friendly and helpful.
I ate here Saturday night. They have the patio open only and tables are spaced very far apart. The menu is limited to just a few entrees and appetizers, but they all looked amazing. I chose the redfish and it was perfect. They have beer, wine, and a happy hour priced cocktail. It was a margarita and it was perfect.
Great as always!!!! Love drinking and eating there!!
Not bad but over priced. Then... they closed down on Saturday night! No notice. What the hell? We had to drive all the way to Marathon to eat. The Gage’s bar and restaurant weren’t closed! Great food, good bar, better ambiance. Won’t be goin back to the Holland.
We have eaten at the Century Grill
at the Holland Hotel in beautiful
Alpine Texas many times before &
this experience was excellent as always. Brandi, our server, was 5 star!
The food choices were awesome!
Filet was really tender & cooked perfectly, the Dr Pepper marinated bacon wrapped pork tenderloins were just out of this world & the wine & desserts were superb.
Wonderful place to meet friends. Even though it was Super Bowl night in the bar, we were able to have a peaceful conversation with friends in another room. It's difficult to find a place to eat on Sunday evening in Alpine but this place is not only open, it exceeds expectations.
It is always a great experience. The food and drinks are always good but the service is incredible.
On this night, the cook came out of the kitchen and was yelling at a bartender, so we knew not to send any food back if it was not right. We were seated facing the grill area, in perfect view of the cook. To start, we ordered a long island ice tea and was brought a margarita on the rocks with a salted rim, the waitress insisted that it was correct, and she watched him make it, she did take it back and brought a new drink same thing minus the salt on the rim. We ordered dinner and when it arrived the ribeyes were not cooked properly, but again we knew not to send anything back for fear of retribution by the already angry cook. The salad that included jalapeño shrimp was a FULL head of iceberg lettuce whacked in half and did not have any of the things listed on the menu in it. My steak was suppose to be medium rare and it came out rare, and my boyfriend's steak was suppose to be medium and it came out medium rare to rare. The mashed potatoes were suppose to have buttermilk and cheddar cheese, there was neither or it was not enough to taste it. I also need to mention that the potatoes were scooped from an ice cream scoop like the elementary lunch lady serve. The other side I chose bacon gastrique brussel sprouts was tasteless and if the waitress was paying attention she would have noticed that we were not impressed with the meal in the least. Very disappointing considering this was billed as fine dining.
Our group really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff in both the restaurant and the bar were great!
My daughter is vegan for health reasons and they were very meticulous to make sure she had something she could eat that wouldn’t hurt her
The food at The Century is always good. Our waiter was very pleasant but it took her a while to figure out that our table was her responsibility. It was very crowded and noisy during this visit but that's because it was cold so less folks (including us) wanted to sit outside on their pretty patio.
Service is usually good, but this time around it was poor.
The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. Brandi did an excellent job as our server. It was our first visit since we do not live in the Alpine area. We will certainly return whenever we visit our grandson, who is a student at SRSU.
We have had bad luck getting dinner at the Hotel Holland, even when we stay there, so this time we made a reservation to be sure. You sent me a confirmation and a follow-up ("Are you still planning to come? Please let them know!"). But when we arrived on Saturday, there was a little sign saying that the restaurant was closed for a "Harry Potter event," and there would be no food in the bar either. It turned out that some one was calling me back in Austin to tell me this—right about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, as we got to the hotel.
For one reason or another it never works out here. Once we were there in January—restaurant closed, not enough people. Once it was spring break in March—impossible to get in, too many people, Once it was the Fourth of July—closed for the holiday. I guess we tend to assume that a hotel restaurant would be open when the hotel is open, but that's not the case here.
Incidentally they have stopped serving what used to be a very nice breakfast for the hotel guests. So a disappointment all round.
Bar is nice for getting together with friends. Grill, not so much. Overpriced, mediocre food and service. The night I was there, good live music was playing in courtyard as well as canned music in restaurant. The blend of the 2 was cacophonous at my table.
The evening out was for our wedding anniversary. The food and service was great, don't get much better than that. Will definitely return.
The Chefs were awesome and we were able to watch the food that was coming out based on where we were sitting. Bradi was our waitress and she was "on point". The Burgers are one of the top 10 ever... Dale
Chef is very good. New menu offers a good variety. Everything we have tried has been good. Seared asparagus and Brussels sprouts are great sides.
What a gem! I've driven by this place a few times for work in the past. My wife went with me this go around so I made reservations for dinner for us. Service was better than I've had at most of the city's I've been to recently. Food was amazing! Dessert was phenomenal! Will definitely go back in the future.
Sitting inside by the kitchen wasn’t very desirable. The cooks were professional but the loud bartenders were kind of goofing off. The early 2000s rock playlist would be fine for the bar area but wasn’t really compatible for the vibe the restaurant is probably going for. Food was just kind of bland. I just expected more for what I paid to experience.
It was my husband’s birthday and the hostess greeted us with Happy Birthday. Then he got a complimentary dessert with a card signed by the staff! Really made it special. And the food was amazing! The service was excellent!
My friend and I split the Bibb lettuce salad as, at $14, it was too pricey as an appetizer for one. I had the spicy spaghetti squash dish - and it was spicy, but good. My friend had ceviche which she enjoyed. Our waitress was very nice and responsive. We started out seated on the patio but it was just too hot and she quickly moved us inside. Drinks were pricy but no more so than any other hotel or high end restaurant in the area. All in all, a good meal!
A hidden gem in Alpine, great service, value and ambiance!
Delicious food. And love the Holland Hotel
Outstanding waiter and a delicious margarita. Sweet time in Alpine Texas.
It was ok, not awesome. I expected more from a high end restaurant. Think I’ve had better food at Chili’s.
The food and service are always good.
Our server, Lindsay, was terrific. She made us feel like we were the only customers she had (which was not the case of course). She also made extra efforts to ensure that everything was just right.
Overall it was a really nice experience, the food was amazing; however I didn't appreciate waiting for my waitor to finish his ice cream before we got our check. Looked delicious. The food was amazing, and well worth the money.
Lindsey was my server and she was absolutely amazing!
It was the first time dining there with my family. Our waitress Lindsey was the best. She went above and beyond to give us an awesome service. The food and environment was great.
The staff at Century always pamper my dog and me. In fact, he gets water before I do! They know how to keep us coming back!
