Centro Mexican Kitchen
The salsa and guacamole were outstanding. Our server was awesome so I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout out! We had a reservation on a very busy night, and they handled the crowds really well. We were inside, but there was also a cool outdoor seating that looked great with fire pits. Great atmosphere.
The quality of their food has definitely gone down over the years. For the price it’s not worth it.
We had such a fabulous family meal. Our waitress was amazingly helpful and the food was delicious.
Thank you so very much for leaving us this AMAZING review!!! Come see us again soon! Kelley Nally Assistant General Manager
Good guacamole and salsa, margs, pomegranate mimosa and beer. We really loved the huevos rancheros and enchiladas. The food is authentic and great breakfast/lunch fare. We’ve also had many a good dinner here. A great spot!
WOW! Thank you so much for this incredible review!! Be sure to check us out for Brunch on the weekends from 10am-2pm! Kelley Nally Assistant General Manager
After trying Centro at the Taste of Pearl Festival, we thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately we found it pretty mediocre. The hosts were indifferent and seemed confused, moving us from table to table u apologetically. We had a trainee waitress (which is totally fine), but after the hosts it wasn’t particularly impressive. The food came quickly (which was good because we were heading to a show and right for time), but the portions were small and okay and one of them was just wrong (we were refunded). I didn’t like my margarita, but overall I just wasn’t impressed. Probably won’t be back.
They didn't honor our reservation. Someone else took the table reserved for us and we had to sit at the bar.
Centro is one of our favorite restaurants on Pearl Street. There's always a lively crowd and the food and drinks are always good.
David Henderson was awesome!! Such a great experience. Food was great. I highly recommend the cheese dip.
The food was good and I appreciated the vegetarian options but MAN our server (Rowan)!!! It was busy but not slammed and I think we saw her maybe three times. She never asked if we needed anything else and just angrily dropped off the tab - I can only assume she wanted us OUT because we hadn't all ordered drinks and run up our tab?? No drink refills, no chip refills, and we had to bring our tab up to the front for another server to ring us up. Shame because this is a fun place to bring out-of-town guests but not if we have to wave servers down and beg for service .
Scooter was our server. Did a great job. Food was delicious.
There was a huge hair in my food and my husbands food. Would not recommend to anyone
The margs were great. The pazole delicious. Didn't really like the carnitas ir carne asada. I've lived in New Mexico and have pretty high standards for that food style.
We had a fun dinner there on a Sat evening. We were able to sit on the covered patio, which was really nice. We had the Chile relleno and some shrimp tacos, both were very good. Our waitress, Brooke, was great...attentive but not too much so. The manager even stopped by and knew what I was drinking and offered to get me a refill. I love their chips (they are addictive), they have a hint of lime and just enough salt....AND they come complimentary, which was great! No complaints and will be back!
Julia, thanks so very much for this great review!! We think Brooke is pretty great too! We can't wait to see you again! Kelley Nally Assistant General Manager
We thought we were going for HH as the web site stated. But were told HH ended at 3. No apologies
We had a reservation which explicitly said inside. What they don’t tell you is that regardless of how cold it gets, they have all the doors and windows open. So inside, outside, all feels the same. You can’t judge how cold a restaurant is by me because I am always cold. But even my husband who is never cold agreed it was freezing. I should state that we’d gotten one of those late afternoon storms that had blown in and the air temp was in the high 50’s. If it wasn’t 7:00 on a Saturday night, we would have gone somewhere else.
Onto the food...the chips and salsa were great! My husband had a steak dish that he loved! I got the carnitas and they were just okay. The sides were bland and so was the meat. Not bad, just not a lot of flavor.
This was our third time here over the course of several years. The first time, eh...second time great...this time, eh. The menu is fairly limited. What we had last time wasn’t on the menu anymore. Given how expensive it is for mediocre food and service, we probably won’t be back. Hard to beat Pasta Jays right across the street and The Med right around the corner.
Had a great time at Centro! Loved our food and especially the outdoor patio! My wife is gluten free and she had no issues finding something delicious. The kitchen did make a mistake and make 1 of her 3 tacos with a flour tortilla, but they corrected it quickly and efficiently. Definitely recommend!
I'm glad we were able to make things right for you! We have food for all the masses! Thanks for taking the time to leave us this great review! Kelley Nally Assistant General Manager
Maybe it was just super busy because of Mother’s Day, but the service was slow and when we asked questions about the food the answer was rushed. If I’m spending $100 I expect someone who at least smiles. Food was supposed to be on the higher end of Mexican food, but really it just seemed like small portions that weren’t special. BUT the happy hour drinks were on point and I’ll definitely go back for drinks, chips and salsa. Sitting out on the patio makes the restaurant.

We have been going to Centro for years and this time decided to go for Mother's Day brunch. I usually have my tried and true breakfast (eggs etc) but I tried one of their signature dishes and it was SOOOO good. Plus a free mimosa for moms...what's not to love!
Kimber, we are so glad you enjoyed your Mother's Day Brunch! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us this review! See you soon!

Yummy Mexican food. In a sea of restaurants, we picked well. This one was delicious, particularly the queso! Steak tacos were very, very good as was the Mexican rice. The tacos were large. Two will likely do the trick. My son ordered three and forced the third one down (steak, chicken and the best for last, shrimp) because it was so delicious!
WOW! Thank you Susan for this incredible review! We are pretty fond of our Queso as well! Look forward to seeing you again soon! Kelley Nally Assistant General Manager
Always great service and food! We keep coming back!
The food was amazing and the service was great! Sitting outside in the sunshine on the lovely patio just made it that much better. Can't wait to go back!!!
We had a reservation for 5:45pm however they did not have a table available for us at that time. About 20 minutes later we were finally seated. Tried to transfer our bar tab to the table however the bartender told me I had to close out the tab verses transferring it. First time in my life I was not able to transfer a bar tab to my table.
Not sure what happen to the Centro Latin Kitchen, but the Mexican Kitchen has poor service with bad food. I will be surprised if it last more than 2 years.
The main dishes came out before the appetizers which was really odd, but more odd than that was that half of our table’s food came out 15 minutes before the rest and still the main dishes were ahead of the apps for those people. We had a table for 5. The food was good, but nothing special.
Such good food and the service was excellent! I would highly recommend!
What a fun place! We went for happy hour and everything was great. The menu has a nice variety of choices that are not familiar and creative. The queso being a great example.
I've been going here for many years, starting back when it was Rhumba. We ate there Friday night with some friends and were not at all impressed by the entrées. Still a good place for chips, salsa, guac, and drinks.
Quite a bit of food on the happy hour menu. Really good margarita!! Great happy hour prices.
A great happy hour experience. Solid drinks and legit tacos, queso and nachos. Such a great way to end the week.
Thank you so much for taking the tome to leave a review. Happy to hear that you enjoyed the happy hour! We do happy hour all day on Monday's, come back and see us soon.
Great service and food. Love the drinks. Happy hour is a little lame- they substitute cheap liquor instead of just their regular beverages at a lower price, but overall still a great place.
Hi, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review after your recent visit to Centro! Sincerely, Bobby Mitchell General Manager
Always a great place to gather with good friends for drinks and tasty treats. This time was no exception.
Love the queso fundido with chorizo - so good. Big fan of all the specialty tacos. And who doesn't like churros for dessert?
Happy hour deals are very good. $3 per taco. $4 drafts. Excellent mezcal selection.
Hi Mark, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. We do happy hour all day on Monday's. Come back and see us soon! Sincerely, Bobby Mitchell General Manager
The good news: great (warm) chips and wonderful sauce served with the shrimp tacos (though the tacos were a little fishy tasting). The bad news: our server gave us the wrong dessert (sorbet - too icy) and charged us for it. I remember there were more interesting taco options in the past. Now we prefer BarTaco, a few doors away.
This was our first time at Centro though we've lived here for over a decade; we'll definitely go back. The Mexican food was excellent and though the menu is more limited than say Rio Grande, there were good options for everyone. The service was attentive and excellent, and we really liked the food and drinks. It was not too expensive either.
Hello my name is Bobby and I'm the General Manager at Centro. I would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent visit to Centro. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the food and beverages. We do Happy hour all day on Mondays. Please come back and see us soon. Sincerely, Bobby Mitchell
It's always good at Centro, but it used to be better. It seems like the taco options are fewer.
I have always loved the Zolo Caesar salad (no longer on their menu) so ordered the Caesar here hoping it was the salad I remember, but it was a fairly conventional Caesar without a hint of latin/mex/SW flavors - good in its own right, but still disappointing for a Big Red F restaurant.
Just not what we were in the mood for. A little bit too Americanized and not a great range of choices. Service was great and the place was busy, but not my fav.
