Bennett is a great waiter. Crab cakes are delicious and filled with crab meat not bread crumbs... love the menu.,
The food was great overall. We’ve been dining here multiple times with family and friends and it’s always been a great experience. My husband and I had the grilled steak salad and NY strip. Great ambiance. The only thing I noticed was the guy server didn’t ask if we want dessert or how’s our food went. Never refilled our drinks and only came back for the check. We always get the lady server who’s very nice, and always go above and beyond. Too bad we didn’t have her this time.
This was our first visit to Centre Park Grill. The restaurant is located in the ground floor of an office building - plenty of parking on a weekend. Our server, Joe, was great - our needs and was very attentive. The whole staff was helpful and pitched in when needed. Our appetizers - soup, chili, salad and wings were all great. Some of the entrees were really good (pork chops, shrimp scampi, meatloaf, burger) others not so much - beef tips were way over cooked - super well done - we were not asked how we wanted them prepared but no one would have wanted them as they were served. The scallops with risotto - the scallops were overcooked so they were chewy. Overall, it was a decent first visit - we will be back and order some different things.
We had a party of nine. Luckily we were seated in the back room as two of our nine were kids. Our server Kelly was very accommodating and professional. We enjoyed our crab cakes, steak salad and bison burgers.
Delicious food, wonderful service great atmosphere!
The food took a while longer than we expected to come out, but it was good. Not too noisy, though kids are welcome. Friendly wait staff and tasty adult drinks.
Waiter was a bit off that night. Chicken s little dry (rosemary chicken).
Go to Center Park Grille on a Regular basis. Food is always good. Also enjoy their excellent bourbon selection.
Brunch does not offer a large menu, but all brunch items are delicious (yes, I've tried them all as there are only just over a dozen) - the great thing is that there are quite a number of non-brunch items available as well for those who might not want a more breakfast-type meal. Today was the spinach and gruyere omelet, served with an English muffin and grilled/roasted potatoes. The omelet was moist with lots of spinach and cheese - the perfect size for brunch. The tea selection should be broadened (an English breakfast tea is de rigueur for brunch), though they do offer Constant Comment which worked perfectly that day. There are also cinnamon rolls available, though these were not mentioned on the menu as they must be a special seasonal item. The cinnamon roll was quite good, with perfect caramelization and excellent flavor, though at eight bucks, a little pricy. Great mimosas at only four bucks seem the better value. Service was perfect. All in all, a nice brunch location which is quiet at the beginning of the brunch time frame (10:30am on either Saturday or Sunday) if you like a little peace with your meal.
Our server was completely and totally uninterested in serving us. So....that put a real damper on our experience!
Service was great, food was awesome.
Appetizers are quite good - as they were out of the perfect calamari (it was a Sunday and we dined later than usual), this evening's selections were the Corn and Crab Fritters and the Crab and Artichoke Dip, both expertly prepared and piping hot. The varied selection available on the menu allows everyone to enjoy a preferred entrée: a Cilantro-Lime Chicken Salad; a Sausage Flatbread (a weekend special which deserves to be on the regular menu); a Crab Cake dinner; two 8-Ounce Tenderloins; a Sesame Salmon; and a Hokkaido Scallop dinner. Every meal exactly as ordered! My filet was perfection - as well as the sides. A substitution for the spinach in the Hokkaido Scallop dinner met no resistance.
The one challenge is that the wine we had two nights before was sold out. However, a good second made a fine substitution. Service was spot on, though as we made our reservation just moments before we dined, we were tucked in the corner of the front part of the restaurant, which actually worked well as the location offered a bit of privacy. The Bourbon Pecan Pie served well as the only dessert shared between seven diners, and did not disappoint.
This dining experience was a nightmare! We were seated in back corner and no server ever came. After 20 minutes, we watched a nearby table of 4 get seated and a server promptly attended to them. I asked him if he could help us, and he just ignored me. Got hostess to alert server that we were her table, but she still never came to wait on us. Busboy, delivering our water to the wrong table, eventually came back with water and became our server because no one ever came and he admittedly took pity on us. Surrounding tables were laughing with us at what a joke it all was and offering us some of their food! Even after, the service was still poor. After 30 min at restaurant, while busboy was at our table, another busboy attempted to deliver wrapped up leftovers presumably from previous guests! And the check from previous guests was still at our table until we finally handed to the server to remove. Caesar salad was sad and bland. My husband's halibut tasted like dirty dishwater. My son's 12oz NY strip was tough, dry, and tasteless. Neither of them is picky...they'd eat anything. My 8oz beef tenderloin was pretty good but undercooked. Management or hostess might've checked if we were satisfied, offered a comp drink or dessert, or just apologized for the emabarrassing experience. Even as we headed out the door, the 2 young hostesses were hidden behind their hostess station, kind of leaning into a coatroom (I think) and staring into their phones. The whole experience was a disgrace! Don't waste any time dining at this establishment. They missed every opportunity to "right the wrong" of a bad dinner experience.
Had reservations for 7 and waited about 5 minutes to be seated. We were NEVER acknowledged by anyone after 25 minutes!!! No water, no drink orders. My husband flagged down the hostess who said "we're short staffed." No apology- nothing. We left. The menu looked overpriced for the feel/ ambiance of the restaurant.
I've been here before but this will be my last time. The service was horrible. My food was disappointing to say the least. I ordered filet mignon tips which were so well done they were crispy. The mashed potatoes were instant potatoes and the bread was cold and hard. The waiter never looked up at us and was extremely slow. I heard several other customers complaining. However, I must say that my husband's seafood pasta was very tasty but I don't think that will bring us back.
I was disappointed on this visit. Went with a child and ordered the children’s cheeseburger. It was minuscule and over cooked. The Mac and cheese was very good. Also, I ordered a Reuben and it was not as thick with corned beef as it had been on previous occasions. Usually, we love the food.
The steaks and fish were perfect. The 8-ounce tenderloin cannot be beat as one of the best dining values in town as it is always expertly prepared by the kitchen, and the delicious sides are always the making of the meal. The swordfish, which can present challenges to a less experienced kitchen, was also perfection: moist and flavorful.
Tonight's challenges were: the French onion soup, though while still delicious in flavor, was lacking the usual crust of melted cheese which was instead a congealed lump in the middle of the soup bowl - not the same usually delightful experience. And the service was lackluster - the restaurant was packed at peak dining time on a Saturday evening, and our server was overwhelmed as the amount of staff seemed smaller in number than what should have been for so busy a night. Perhaps this is the result of management scheduling and the wait staff should not take the blame. Nevertheless, a detraction from an otherwise good dining experience.
The food is generally very good, but the steaks, specifically the tenderloin this evening, was perfect! Expertly prepared to complete satisfaction. I think the cipollini onions and crispy fingerlings make the best accompaniments; however, one of my dining companions favors the mushrooms and asparagus. In both cases, the side dishes were delicious. An excellent meal rounded out by a reasonably-priced bottle of wine. Truly a neighborhood gem.
Enjoyed another tasty brunch! Party of 6 adults and 1 baby were treated nicely. Antonio is a fantastic waiter...we ask for him when we go. Reasonable cost for groups. Everyone enjoyed the food especially the cream of crab soup and onion soup. We will return.
We came to celebrate Boss's Day. The food wasn't hot, lukewarm at best. One of the orders came after all of us had finished our meal which was not right. No accommodation was made for the tardiness of the food.
Service was incredibly slow. We didn’t get checked on much at all. We had to return a steak that was not properly cooked and most disappointing of all was that there was no infused whiskey of the month - our main reason for always loving this place. Unfortunately, I think we’re done with CPG.
My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous brunch at Centre Park Grill on Sunday. We never need an excuse or special occasion to dine at the Centre Park Grill. Lunch and dinner meals there are equally deliciously well prepared and served. We hardly miss their authentic Tuesday paella night. The absolutely best paella you'll taste outside of Spain (and maybe there too)!
My favorite go-to dish for brunch is Centre Park Grill's spinach gruyere omelette. Not every restaurant or chef or sous-chef has the skills it takes to get it right. Just read Julia Childs account of how she initiated rookie chefs-wanna-be's. The first thing she made them cook was a simple omelette. Centre Park Grill knows how to prepare food properly, respecting each ingredient and presenting dishes that your taste buds will thank you for. Their omelettes by the way, are consistently cooked to perfection.
Always fluffy. Always seasoned just right so that no salt or pepper embellishment is needed. We have tried many of their dishes and none have disappointed. That says a lot about the owner and chef's commitment and his very talented kitchen team. They consistently give you the best dining experience each time you sit down at their table.
The service was and always is, pleasant, courteous, attentive and engaging in a customer friendly way. How refreshing. Perfectly prepared, tasty food and people there who truly appreciate your patronage. On behalf of our appetite for good food and our taste buds we thank you Centre Park Grill for the wonderfully delicious meals! [Bruce & Laurie]
Very nice time overall but noise level is so high it is next to impossible to conduct a serious conversation....or any conversation for that matter. Our waiter was very responsive and knowledgeable....kudos to him. Food was good too.....maybe not great but certainly pleasing for the most part.
Went on a Sunday evening. Had live music quietly playing up front. A few folks were at the bar. Only a few tables were filled. Service was fantastic. Food was excellent - blackened salmon salad and prime rib special. If you have room, try the bourbon pecan pie. We will definitely be back!
We had a reservation and arrived early so our table wasn't available just yet so we decided to sit at the bar and dine there. Our bartenders, Anthony and Sean, were very attentive. Our drinks and meals were served in a timely fashion. I ordered the halibut, at Anthony's suggestion, and it was delicious. The fish was cooked to the right temperature and was not overseasoned. It was nicely complemented by asparagus (cooked al dente) and fingerling potatoes. My friend enjoyed his steak sandwich though he did not care for the french fries as they were a bit greasy. For dessert, we shared the cheesecake with blueberry compote which was also very good and lighter than you'd expect for a cheesecake. The atmosphere is pretty sedate as the crowd was mostly older couples out for Saturday night dinner.
We were seated promptly for our 7pm reservation. The bar area was quite noisy, but that settled down soon after. Our waiter, Tom, was in that attentive-but-not-hovering groove (yay!). All of our meals were very good (salmon, bison burger, vegetable stack, and scallops) but I can't say enough yummy things about the scallops and the mushroom risotto. Don't tell my diet coach, but the chocolate lava cake was delish, too!
I was meeting a friend for lunch and she wanted to try someplace she had never been. Since Centre Park Grill is one of my favorite restaurants and she had never been there, we decided to go. While I can and do eat almost anything and everything, she is very sensitive when it comes to dining options but immediately found at least 5 things she could enjoy and her only problem was deciding which to try. I had the Reuben which was delicious - juicy, flavorful, and "messy" like a Reuben is supposed to be - and their fries are some of the best I've ever had. She opted for the steak salad without the blue cheese. When our lunch arrived her salad had the cheese but Antonio, our excellent server, promptly returned it to the kitchen and returned a few minutes later with her salad as requested. She also could not have the balsamic vinaigrette dressing but did enjoy the red wine vinegar that was brought to our table at her request. She promptly declared lunch a huge success and said she can't wait to return.
Our group of six had Sunday brunch. The only real disappointment was the mediocre quality of food. Our omelettes, which a previous diner had described as light and airy, were dense and under seasoned, though acceptably edible. The service was very good, and our group especially appreciated the fact that we were seated in an area by ourselves where conversation was easy.
Love this place! Went to celebrate a birthday and it was the best! Great food and drinks!
This was a birthday dinner; five of us. Waitress was very accommodating. The "free" dessert for the celebrant delicious; the prime rib for all five arrived as ordered and was delicious. Have been several times for lunch and dinner; will definitely be going again.
Great Saturday night decision. I was able to book a last minute table through open table. I've been to this restaurant before and it was so_so. This time was GREAT. Our server Kelly was gracious and make excellent food and beverage recommendations. My husband and I both got the rib eye with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. Everthing tasted fabulous and cooked exactly as ordered. We tried the cheesecake eggroll for dessert and it was awesome. We will definitely be back!
Our dinner was incredible however the desserts were very mediocre. I had the special German Chocolate Cake and it tasted very generic. The flavor was not worth the calories.
Great service by our regular waiter George! Best lamb burgers around.
Love going on Tuesdays for their super delicious paella! Best around!!
This is our go-to spot when near Columbia. The quality of food is usually excellent and selection of brews is spectacular. This visit, our waiter was the usual attentive initially. He brought our drinks, took our order and all seemed well. Our meal came out without our appetizers being served. We asked the waiter and he completely lost track of what was occurring. He left the table without asking if we needed condiments etc. He didn't come back for quite a while. The meal was good. Finally the waiter came back to apologize and stated the owner offered dessert on the house and took the appetizers off the check. Not the usual standard of service we expect there. We will probable return
We met friends for dinner on a recent Saturday evening and had a wonderful meal. Centre Park Grill (CPG) has become our go-to restaurant for a fun time and consistently delicious meal. We used to go to a different Columbia restaurant on the lakeside but the parking, food, service and value are better at CPG. The crab soup is the best I’ve had anywhere with lots of veggies and crab meat and not very spicy. Whether you want a full meal or lite fair CPG has something for every appetite. Their Reuben sandwich has some of the tastiest corned beef of any I’ve tried including Jewish delicatessens. Their crab cake is large and contains lump crab meat with very little filler. The burgers are thick and juicy and the shoestring fries are amazing - hot, crispy and not greasy. Definitely save room for dessert. The five layer fudge cake has been deemed one of the best my husband has ever had and he’s very particular when it comes to his chocolate cake. Prices are very fair and you can enjoy a wonderful meal without breaking the bank. Service is very professional and our server, Joe B, was knowledgeable and friendly. We can’t wait to return for another wonderful meal.
Service was good. Steak was over cooked but salmon excellent
Service was terrible and there was a hair in our food.
I have been raving about Centre Park Grill (CPG) to my friend who has several food allergies and she decided to go there for lunch with my sister and me. When we first arrived the first thing she said was she loved the look of the restaurant with its large windows and stone walls/columns. She ordered a turkey sandwich and said it was definitely fresh turkey, not the "fake" turkey and commented on how good it was. Since she's limited as to what she can eat, she ordered her sandwich with just tomato and mayo and was pleasantly surprised when her order came out correct since she said most places really don't listen to what she orders and it's usually wrong. My sister ordered a burger that looked yummy - thick, juicy and prepared medium-well as ordered. I always have a tough time deciding what to order since I love just about everything on the menu - the crab cakes are large and meaty without very little filler, the burgers are great as described above, the shrimp salad is a favorite of mine and the Reuben is the best I've had anywhere since the corned beef actually has some taste unlike most places where its usually tasteless. I opted for the Reuben and brought one-half home with me to enjoy another day. The fries there are amazing - shoestring, crisp, and not greasy. Antonio, our server, was very pleasant and efficient and the person he was training (I believe his name was Tom) was equally pleasant. When we left my friend said she would definitely come back since she liked it so much. Lunch was on a Tuesday and I already made plans to return to CPG that Saturday to meet friends for dinner. With so many wonderful selections on their menu, it's hard to get tired of going there. It's become my favorite go-to restaurant.
Great food and service. Will definitely go back!
