Lovely meal. My first time for lunch, although I have been there several times for dinner. The food is always good and they have a nice selection of beers.
We had relatives visiting from out of town and took them to CPG for lunch. Since they were running late, I called the restaurant to let them know and they reassured us it was no problem. They loved the crab cake that was large with very little filler and the bison burger that was cooked as ordered and came out hot and juicy. My husband ran into a snag when he ordered a plain grilled chicken sandwich with nothing on it but when it arrived it was as described on the menu with cheese and bacon. The server was very accommodating in returning it to the kitchen and bringing out the correct order. Even though it wasn’t very busy the food seemed to take a longer than usual time in coming out. Unfortunately our cousins had an appointment and didn’t have time to enjoy dessert that we know from experience they would have loved, especially the five layer fudge cake. Since this has become our favorite go to restaurant, we were very pleased that our cousins enjoyed it as much as we always do.
I've been here for lunch three times now. Each time has been excellent and exactly what we were looking for. The salads and dressing are tasty and fresh. The lunch menu has plenty of options. The hardest think is deciding which choice to make.
Centre Park Grill has become our go-to restaurant when friends and/or family come to town or when we just want to go someplace by ourselves to get a great meal. From lite fare to full meals, everything at CPG is fresh and very tasty. I absolutely love their MD crab soup because unlike most places in this area, theirs isn’t too spicy and is loaded with veggies and crab meat. The Reuben sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had. Most places have tasteless corned beef but theirs is very juicy and flavorful. The grilled salmon is perfectly cooked without being under or over done. As far as the sides go, the French fries here are the best - thin, non greasy and very crisp. Make sure to save room for dessert. They have one of the best fudge cakes my husband has ever had and he considers himself to be the maven of fudge cake. The restaurant itself is tastefully done with large windows that let in the light and warm brown tones and stone columns that give it an inviting, cheerful feeling.
Picked a bad night to go to this restaurant. Party of 3; only one diner satisfied with dish selected. One diner was excited to see vege lasagna on menu. Sadly, it was bland and quite oily from too much cheese, the noodles were over cooked to the point of being robbery. The side dish of broccolini was also over cooked and oily. The other party had the scallops in brown butter over risotto. While the interior of the scallops were slightly over cooked but sweet, the brown butter was done poorly and created a heavy, oily after taste. The diner decided to wipe off the brown butter with cocktail napkins. The risotto was also not cooked correctly. It was over done and had had absorbed the brown butter making it inedible. The only dish that seemed to satisfy was the swordfish. Additionally, it seemed the restaurant was short on servers. Our table saw the server minimally as it seemed he had several tables to serve. We were fine with this since most restaurants want to rush to turn over tables. Have been to this restaurant once previously for a so-so dinner and a better brunch.
Tuesday is paella night - great! Servers are gracious, knowing.
The cream of crab soup was surprisingly very good. I had the stir-fry with chicken & shrimp and I loved that it wasn’t served over rice. It had plenty of veggies, was a large portion and had a really good flavor. I had to take half home for later. I highly recommend it. My friend ordered her 12 oz prime rib off of the Restaurant Week menu. She stressed it should be cooked medium but it came out closer to well done, not even medium-well. However, she didn’t send it back because it was very tender and juicy and she was staving and didn’t want to wait for a redo. All in all, we both enjoyed our meals.
Ordered 2 steaks, one was cooked well but not seasoned. The other was seasoned but over cooked. Mashed potatoes were buttery but also not seasoned. Other sides were good. Service was responsive and polite. Management was not visibly engaged in the operation during the time we were there. Overall we expected far higher quality at this price point.
Four folks went to lunch at Centre Park Grill on a Wednesday. One person selected the restaurant week special. She was impressed with the Maryland Crab soup as it had plenty of crab & not too spicy. However it was cold - not even warm. The server did take it back & returned with soup that was warm. The well done burger & the medium burgers were done perfectly. It takes a good chef to make a well done burger juicy. The chicken salad & beef sandwiches were tasty. Our server must have had a bad day as he forgot the extra lemon for the drinks, didn't check on our status enough and seemed unhappy when we asked for the regular menu with desserts.
We were grabbing dinner while our son was at a Shadowlands party. It’s just a few minutes away. Excellent salmon- perfectly prepared. Swordfish too. Our daughter loved the burger and fries. The restaurant week menu included a classic crab soup for me and dessert. So good. Drinks were well-prepared too, and the service was excellent. The right balance of attentive and helpful but not obtrusive. Lovely place. Would have considered outside dining but it was still a bit humid and the seating wasn’t as nice looking as indoors.
Quality of food was uniformly poor. Rosemary chicken and southwest burger were overcooked and dried out; rosemary chicken was covered with a red chorizo sauce that was not disclosed on the menu; guacamole and jalapeno cheese burger toppings were tasteless glop; French onion soup was watery; and restaurant week menu online had little in common with RW menu actually available.
We’ve been here multiple times and this time we were let down. Service was very slow. The waitress was very sweet but not attentive enough. She seemed very young, perhaps she just needs more experience. The food was delicious as it as always been and the absolute best part of this place is the infused whiskey (even though I didn’t like the flavor this month, smoked bacon, but my husband did.
As always very good food with good service. Center Park Grill is our go to restaurant
The sword fish was very good. The hamburger was very good. The side dishes were disappointing. That would be mixed vegetables and French fries.
This has become one of our ‘go to’ places where we know we will have good food and drink in comfortable surroundings. We are never disappointed. The challenge is ordering something other than favorites every time. This time we had bison burger and NY strip steak for the first time. Both were perfectly done. My companion was happy there was a stout on draft and I enjoyed my usual drink, the Frontier Old Fashioned.
We’re so fortunate to have this wonderful restaurant less than 10 minutes from our home. Since discovering this gem a few months ago we’ve dined here at least 6 times. The food is top notch with the best MD crab soup I’ve had anywhere, delicious crab cakes with very little filler, amazing Reuben sandwiches with corned beef that actually has flavor unlike most corned beef you get these days, and everything else we’ve tried has been absolutely wonderful. Be sure to save room for dessert especially if you are a chocolate cake lover. You receive excellent value for the very fair prices, and service is consistently friendly and professional.
Nice atmosphere-good variety of food-especially tasty burgers. A little more upscale vs. a basic pub hence a lack of certain basic condiments like bleu cheese or ranch dressing for chicken wings. Nice place to have lunch with the girls or a business lunch.
Everything was just bland! For instance, the potatoes were watery, the crab chowder needed salt and or more Sherry, and the risotto needed to be cooked a minute or two more. Nice place with lots of potential!
The restaurant has wrap around window for good views. They need to work on their vegetarian and vegan options. The veggie stack was not very good and twice as much money as ot should have been. It was extremely oily and the veggies aren't cut properly for a stack. We make them at home, so I was hoping for something fancier for the $17 price.
Good local place! Easy going, relaxed atmosphere. Has a variety of items on the menu. Half priced wine on Tuesdays - a good deal!
This has become our new “go to” restaurant if we want to get together with friends/family or just for the the two of us to enjoy a very good, affordable meal. I recently had foot surgery and needed to find a dining spot where I could use my knee scooter without knocking into tables or other diners. This was our first time here but we’ve been back several times since there are so many things we like on the menu. The Maryland crab soup is the best I’ve ever had - a wonderful tomato base with lots of veggies and crabmeat and not too spicy. The crab cakes are large (7oz.) with big lumps of crab and very little filler. The entree of filet tips over mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus was devoured by my sister who announced the tips were very tender and the mashed potatoes were the best she’s ever eaten outside of her own. I’ve enjoyed Reuben sandwiches at several restaurants and delis but the Reuben here is the all time best. Usually the corned beef has little or no taste but the corned beef at CPG is flavorful and juicy. I don’t think you’ll find a better one anywhere. And definitely save room for dessert. If you’re into chocolate cake like my husband and I are you’ll love the 5 layer fudge cake - absolutely to die for. We’ve had different servers on each occasion we’ve dined here and each has been friendly, knowledgeable and efficient which adds a great deal to a dining experience. Prices are affordable which helps make this the perfect neighborhood dining experience.
Enjoyed the night out with friends. Food was good and portion was certainly generous. Loved the burger and salmon BLT.
Front of house very disorganized tonight, made for a frustrating experience. Prime NY strip was great, but needed to walk over to the service station to get a steak knife to eat it. No check ins after the food order, so no chance to fix an issue with the appetizer, order drinks to come out with our meals, or get that steak knife. This was a Friday night dinner, tough to chalk it up to an off night for ownership/management. A convenient local option but running out of reasons to come back.
Centre Park Grill is one of our fall back places for a quick dinner. Both of us enjoyed our meals -- a half- order of ribs with potatoes and cole slaw and a shrimp salad sandwich with a side of green salad. The portions are generous so half the shrimp sandwich went home with us. We were lucky to get there for the happy hour prices on our beer. We had a very good server, he was nice, came to tell us the status of the food, and checked back several times during our meal to make sure we were doing OK. Not sure why they serve sweet bread before dinner, my suggestion would be to serve French or Italian bread.
We enjoy dinner at this restaurant.
My family loves Centre Park Grill. The food is always fantastic and the service is great as well. Unique dishes for a reasonable price.
Two people had the Burger specials and were very happy. Cubans sandwich was a hit and the salmon was delicious.
I hadthe halibut dish and just loved it. Another person in our party ordered beef tips and they were divine!! Next time I'll definitely order some beef!
My husband always have this good instinct for the most part in choosing a great restaurant. This place is one them. Great service, good food, nice dining experience. Parents in law loved it too! definitely we’ll go back.
Previous ratings would have been a bit higher. This visit was a disappointment. My cream of crab soup was cold and it took too long (in my view) to reheat it. Service was slow and spotty. No salt and pepper on table.
My husband and I “found” Centre Park Grill” a few months ago after I needed to find a local restaurant with easy access after having foot surgery. We’ve been back several times since and on our latest visit brought friends with us who had never been there. Our server, Sabrina, was very pleasant and helpful and made our experience a very enjoyable night out. Three of us started with the Maryland crab soup which was perfect - not very spicy, full of vegetables and loaded with crab meat. One diner enjoyed the Caesar salad that was crisp, cold and well dressed without being over powering. We opted for lighter fare for our main courses - a Reuben shared by 2 people.which was the best we ever had, one burger that was juicy and perfectly cooked, a large crab cake that was full of lump crab meat and little filler, and a cheesesteak flatbread that was large enough to take some home to enjoy another night. Everyone agreed that they have the best fries we’ve ever had - shoestring, hot, and crisp. Definitely save room for dessert. The five layer fudge cake is to die for and large enough to share as was the salted caramel cheesecake. One of our diners didn’t see anything he wanted on the dessert menu and Sabrina agreed to make him a chocolate sundae even though it wasn’t listed. As we were leaving our friends wanted to know when we could return since they liked it so much.
We like CPG. We've been several times, although something was off this past Saturday night. Our server was very nice, but didn't seem to coordinate well with the kitchen, as she was going to check to see if they had bison that night, and after initially saying yes, she came back 15 minutes later to say no. Three of us ordered salads, 1 came out after what seemed like 20 minutes, but the other 2, well we have no idea where they went. After our burgers were delivered, we cancelled the salads. I ordered a burger with just LTO, and it came with cheese ( I NEVER order cheeseburgers), so it had to go back. Drink orders came very slow, refills very slow, Burgers, Fries were good, the Veggie burger looked good. The salmon entree looked good too, but the service was just messed up that night. We'll try it again, but hope they correct the mess this time.
I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the seafood pasta. The shrimp and grits were good however a small portion. At those prices you would hope that you would be offered bread. My husband said that the pasta was just okay and had little or no seasonings. The prices are moderately pricey. The waitress was not very attentive. She never came back to ask us did we want additional water or soda. Most of the time she disappeared around the corner and talked to the bartender and another waitress. We have been there before and selected other items that were a lot better tasting.
We had a nice relaxed lunch. Service was friendly and professional. Food was good fresh.
Food is exceptionally well prepared and very tasty. Service is great. Good selection of wine and craft beer.
I think this place needs some updates to the menu and decor. I couldn't figure out what type of restaurant they were trying to be, maybe trim down the menu and focus on quality. The burger was ok, nothing unique, but the filet mignon tips were dry and over cooked. Service was good. The place feels like it hasn't been updated for a long time, starting with the patio in the front with Christmas lights still on the bushes.
Great service and very good food. We had the bourbon glazed pork chops and the scallops. Both were very good and especially the scallops with mushroom Risotto! Will definitely go back again.
We eat here often. Food is good—not outstanding, but well made and good choices. They have specials every night staff is accommodating and Bennett was our waiter and he is very good and personable
Love going on Tuesdays for the fresh paella which is perfect!
It was nice
