Excellent experience and cocktails. They made our birthday celebration truly special. We Weill definitely come back.
The food was amazing and the service was great! For sure will be back. We love this place and Ba Bar.
Truly our favorite new restaurant in Seattle...simply delicious!!
Casual atmosphere with excellent food and service. Second time back to savory the tender beef brisket and try the pork ribs. It is amazing to me that the meats are cooked to perfection but still do NOT have that Smokey taste. The meal was terrific with quality food, but still pricey. Previously, I toured the locomotion like BBQ cooler to see how their food selection was made.
Loved it. A little pricey for frequent dining, but a great place for our anniversary. We were looking for a casual, higher end place and this fit the bill. Totally for meat eaters. Creative cocktails and VERY friendly service.
Delightful BBQ style, interesting treatment of sides. Very enjoyable.
Outstanding food, the Smoked AF OF is off the charts. Love the puppy friendly patio
The owner Eric and his partner were great host/hostess. Trying to bring the best of their travels to Seattle.
Second time we’ve been to Central Smoke since the changeover. New favorite restaurant!!! Delicious food, creative cocktails and top-notch service. Great for 2 people or a group!! Wishing them the best and continued success (so we can keep coming back!)!! ; )
Except for one small issue, we would have rated this Outstanding. The issue was that neither of our two servers ever mentioned the daily special to us. It was on the reader board as we entered. I even asked specifically about a special and was told they didn’t have any today. And when asked what was that delious looking roast over there...were told it was the brisket (which it definitely was not) and incidentally they only serve on Friday and Saturday, this was a Tuesday. Of course it was the daily special. The food was outstanding in every way. Ribs - fantastically moist with a trio of sauces; skirt steak done to a beautiful medium rare and side of creamed corn (shown-slurp); beef chuck ribs, perfect. We’ll be back soon.
Super knowledgeable staff and delicious food
Very good, surprised to find delicious bbq in Seattle, great food and great craft cocktails
Loved it!! Loved everything we ate (lots!) and drank! Love the concept! Loved the creativity of drinks and food! Liked Seven Beef but love Central Smoke! (Love Ba Bar). Have been telling everyone about it! Wish them well!
Outstanding food and service. Loved the smoked pork ribs and cabbage slaw, smoked chicken fried rice, and Persian pickled cukes. Grilled eggplant and green papaya salad were delicious. We will be back!!
It was fun to try a new restaurant, however it made me miss 7 Beef Restaurant. With everything smoked(and I mean everything), it got to be a bit much.
Everything was great, except my wife’s smoked brisket was very dry.
7 Beef was recently converted to Central Smoke wherein "southern food" meets Vietnamese cuisine. The fine-dining steak house that drew in loyal patrons is no more. The new menu is limited and sadly, disappointing. The brisket was over-salted/dry and the corn on the cob was so over-seasoned, it left a layer of spice on our front teeth and lips. It was inedible. The desert which tasted like a decadent peanut butter and chocolate cup was delicious, as was the coffee. The smoked AF cocktail was also wonderful. My partner I had dined at 7 Beef 4-5 times in the past 8 months and agreed we will give Central Smoke one more chance in a few months once they've had more time to let the dust settle and sharpen the menu a bit. We are incredibly sad 7 Beef is gone.
We came for "7 Beef" (Vietnamese steak house) but got Central Smoke (Texas style bbq).
The new menu is pretty good. Sides are exceptionally executed and creative (corn bread with cream fraiche? Brilliant) but mains are lacking.
Ribs were stringy, not fall-off-the-bone tender like I expect from a high end smoke house.
The bavette steak was cooked correctly, but the seasoning was odd.
I think they're still trying to find their voice as a restaurant. I wish they would lean more into the Vietnamese side of things... It felt like such a basic smokehouse that falls short of the real thing. Even the menu could use more colorful descriptions of what I'm ordering.
Instead of "Mac n cheese" show off your inventiveness with "Sichuan pepper Mac cheese."
I'm sounding pretty critical. It's not bad, I see so much potential. I'll come back to see how things have settled in a month.
Excellent cocktails. The smoked meat, their specialty, was not good. Very overcooked and membranes not removed. The papaya in the papaya salad was mushy and flavorless. The appetizer cucumbers were crunchy, that's a positive. The mac and cheese had little flavor and little cheese. The patio is awesome. The service was kind and strange. Seemed to be too many servers (we were asked the same thing by different servers). They seemed attentive but disengaged. For example, they asked how our food was and then were already 20 steps away before we could answer. Get the food together and we will be back. We know you can do it because BaBar is consistently excellent!
The service and food were spotty. We asked for a salad without char and received a heavily charred one. The steak was not cooked to order either.
Steak was requested to be medium rare. They delivered well done
Not a very good experience. It’s the three strike rule. First off I ordered the rib eye and was told after I ordered it, that they just ran out. Then the server tries to convince me that the New York is a better cut. It’s a fine cut but it’s not better. Then the server recommends the smoked grilled asparagus and convinces us to order it because it’s great. Then he comes back 5 minutes later to inform us they are out of of the asparagus. After all of the disappointments we get the bill and they are trying to charge us for the asparagus. Ugh. Really? Had to ask them to fix the bill. There was no apology or anything for any of the issues. Not a good experience.
Too many other better restaurants in Seattle. Will not be back.
Really tasty beef, cooked over a wood fire. The side dishes are stunning.
The cocktails and cuisine are exceptional!! We loved everything about our experience at Seven Beef. Also, the design of the restaurant is very cool.
The service was awesome! All of our questions were answered and with smiles! the food was absolutely amazing! Best steak I have ever had out at a restaurant. The sides were delicious as well. Two thumbs up!
Expensive steak, even for Seattle.
Came to share a dry aged steak; chose the cute de bouef which was outstanding. Sad to hear they won't be butchering and aging beef anymore once they shift to a new concept sometime this summer.
Yummy food and great service!
We had a wonderful time. Our host was funny and friendly; our server and his helpers were terrific; and the food was outstanding. Will definitely be back!
We chose Seven Beef for my birthday and were elated with the meal. We shared the 29oz Cote de Boeuf and had the remainder for dinner the next night. Even the bone made the trip home to be relieved of its sublime tidbits that I was too self conscious to accomplish at the restaurant. The Frites were simply divine.
Eric Banh has created a masterpiece and we'll be back for more, and more...
The food was great and our server was very nice, but the kitchen was so slow!
I ate here two Saturdays in a row. I could not stop thinking about the grilled romaine salad. The steaks are outstanding.
Seven beef was fine. I've heard so much but I wasn't overwhelmed. Food was fine. The nettles dish was just OK. My 7 beef was good. The comchi (spelling ) was excellent. Service was fine but the kitchen needs more help. That's why it took so long to get our food. Way too long. Nice staff. I tried it but I won't go back. Been there, done that.
1 Waiting time is a little longer
2 Food quality is not stable. I remember I ordered a plate with meat ball and soup. It’s supposed to be juicy and chewy. Unfortunately, it’s not. Same with several dishes.
Can’t believe I spend more than 2 hours for just start, main, and dessert. I must be crazy.
Awesome dinner experience, especially if you can get a seat by the open kitchen. Quite a show! And the beef is of exceptional quality......melt in your mouth and so good! Friendly service, coached and required by owner Eric Bahn, makes all the food taste even better!!! Sweet restaurant. We will be back!
We love a good steak, but they had limited steak options (3) for small cuts and only 1 cofe de bouf option. We ordered octapus, broccoli and a small cut to start. The small cut steak was a little bland, chewy. The octapus was great, meaty, tender and flavorful. Broccoli was covered in some sort of thin cheese sauce and other seasonings, we had a few bites and pushed to the side. The cofe de bouf was extremely bland, didn't even taste like a steak. So disappointed. Fries of course were delicious. Service was subpar, hard to get his attention, and would turn away immediately before seeing if we needed another cocktail or had a question about the menu. I did come once before when sevenbeef first opened and it was a totally different experience total opposite and was lovely. Not sure if it was a fluke?
The food was very good. Service was a little slow but that may have been because we ate there during Seattle Restaurant Week and the restaurant was packed. I would definitely recommend eating at Seven Beef.
Beautiful space with an open kitchen. Service was exceptional and the food memorable!
I went for Seattle Restaurant Week, and I just wasn't impressed. I had the endive salad with pickled rhubarb, parsley, mint, pear, walnut, bleu cheese, parmigiano, lemon dressing. There was no blue cheese or parmigiano in sight, and it just was bland. I had the Braised beef shank with ramen noodle, cabbage, chili oils. It should have called ramen noodles with beef shank. There was hardly any beef in the bowl of noodles. Tasty, but I barely had any meat in the dish--all carbs. I got the feeling they were rushing us, as my noodles were whisked away because my friend had finished his tenderloin. I hadn't finished fishing out the bits of beef shank! The orange panna cotta dessert was very good.
I don't know if they try to cut costs for the tasting menu, but had I been wowed I would go back. I went home hungry. I've crossed it off my list.
